Africa Is A Country Or Being Described As Country, What's The Matter by CAMNEWTON4PRES: 1:34am On Dec 12, 2014 |
to be honest what's wrong with Africa being regarded as a country? I used to despite that trend too, however I am realizing that there is nothing wrong with that, yeah it is not always funny, but who cares? knowing full well that most people doing such, are not Africans , why should we care and what's bad about it in the first place? is it not the first step to our unity and us speaking with one voice? I mean what's really the motive behind us Africans trying to fight that image of Africa being a country? that because Ebola is ravaging west Africa I shouldn't be concerned because im from central Africa? or better I am from Cameroon? or Because im Tanzanian the Cameroonian and Nigerians being killed by Bokoharams shouldn't be my concern? is it not that kind of non connection, laid back or I don't give a fck attitude, that brought us to the stat we are finding ourselves? at the mercy of western cultural, economic and military imperialism? |

I must say, you've come a long way from when you were calling for a Horn African holocaust. what's wrong with Africa being regarded as a country? Everything is wrong with it. It downplays the positivity and progress coming out of the continent because it is overshadowed by all the bad things that are happening down there. Remember a few nights ago when you talked about the French misreporting the number of Africans in France? Well this is similar to that but it has a reverse effect. African unity is not gained this way. |

ArtanK: It doesn't downplay anything, the people taking Africa as a country are mostly ignorants and racists they don't care and don't want to know about the so called good happening...so why wasting our time? Furthermore all Africans are connected, as we were assaulted as a single group or identity ...hiding behind It's not happening in my country won't bring us anywhere . Lol how is Africa or African unity gained ? If you can not b sensitive to the sufferings of people around you my friend am afraid you will never see any unity |

I still don't see what's wrong with us being called a country, I mean we have worse issues |
Re: Africa Is A Country Or Being Described As Country, What's The Matter by JiggamanGh: 8:28pm On Dec 17, 2014 |
CAMNEWTON4PRES: A lot is wrong with Africa being called a country. Africa is a continent of many countries. It is a sign of disrespect and we shouldn't tolerate it. If acknowledging that stupidity of others is the only way for us to come together then we don't need to come together because we are not ready for it. There are many reasons why we should come together as africans, such as eliminate hunger and diseases and many more but acknowledging Africa as a country is not one of that. I am Ghanain first, Akan second, african third and black last, this is who I am. |
Re: Africa Is A Country Or Being Described As Country, What's The Matter by JiggamanGh: 8:37pm On Dec 17, 2014 |
CAMNEWTON4PRES: The people saying it are not racist but ignorant and it's our job to set them straight. We are very sensitive to the suffering of our neighbors but still doesn't make sense to call us a country. Is it fair to South Sudan to be called Africa after years and years of fighting to get their freedom, is it fair to call Ethiopia Africa after fighting to keep their country from colonization. |

CAMNEWTON4PRES: This is exactly what I was going to say. JiggamanGh: Some of the people who think that Africa is a country are of African descent, just so you know. If you really think that African unity is gained by merely accepting the perception of the ignorant then boy, we must have some pretty dumb intellectuals. How did this slip away from great Pan-Africanists? 2 Likes |

CAMNEWTON4PRES:I too have come to the conclusion that it is not bad .BUT as long as west and Central Africans and the so called Bantus of east Africa are the only ones lumped together. We know most North Africans think they live on a different continent called Maghreb and just like the hornets are racists( no need to deny it) and Southern Africans have had huge influence from their fellow White citizens. It would be beautiful to include everyone. From the cultural diversity to the resources, it would be quite beautiful. But as you can see from this forum, some more than others feel Africans and have no problems representing it. 1 Like |

Re: Africa Is A Country Or Being Described As Country, What's The Matter by CAMNEWTON4PRES: 6:22am On Jan 04, 2015 |
PAGAN9JA:a more radical regional integration with countries merging together should suffice for now. as for the tribal unity ,you already know my postion why i respect tribal/ethnic identity i believe it is overrated and i believe in assimilation if we must live together as countries or fereations, esp in the way way this world is geo-strategically structured. culture is dynamic we can merge all cultures and create a unique culture for each future country, we are made to believe that there are more differences than similarities between us .common language and religious practice must b adopted. failure to pick one ethnic religious practice the countries should move towards full secularism .period practice your religion at home |
Re: Africa Is A Country Or Being Described As Country, What's The Matter by CAMNEWTON4PRES: 6:24am On Jan 04, 2015 |
Omarbah:i don't believe in including everyone , i believe in regional integration. where there are similarities or where different ethnic groups are found in different countries. in My africa arabs are kicked out back to their desert and camel fcking while the pigs in the south are back to their poverty stricken/endebted abd barren countries. |

JiggamanGh:sometimes you should hold your guns: is there any cursus where Africa is referred or people are being taught that Africa is a country? Is there any map that depict africa as a country? Is there any book? no there are none of such, so get that in your head, the people referring to you as a country are not being ignorant they are racist, who are trying to minimize you, stop justifying or excusing their racism, we are in the era of information such ignorance can no longer be tolerated or accepted as an axcuse ..the same people will ask you how you came in the USA or if you live in trees , yet people like you will say they are ignorants , which ignorance eh eh even in Discovery channel NG documentaries the way Africa is portrayed can't not fool any sane mind, in fact in such docs you never see any single Africans ..only trees and animals, where do they the 1billion people go? so the cameramen ask us to leave for them to shot their docs ...when they are done we come back to our trees ...lmfaooooo |

CAMNEWTON4PRES: I disagree thoroughly. You are opting for the easy way out. Which is not always the best way. Culture is evolving . The tribes are evolving . It is meant to be a natural process. Not artificially misled through assimilation. Countries are political entities which will change for all the wrong reasons u can imagine. I am fighting a losing battle anyways. Temptation is not easy to overcome. Good day. |

PAGAN9JA: first of voice HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ONE OF THE GREATEST MINDS ON THIS FORUM, YOU ARE THE LIGHT AMON DARKNESS AND YOU HELPED ME BREAK THE PSYCHOLOGICAL BONDAGE OR SHOULD I SAYS TAKE THE FINAL STEP .ONCE AGAIN HAPPY NEW YEAR MY DEAR PAGAN , AS WE SAY IN EWONDO/BETI: MBEMBE MBU(HAPPY NEW YEAR ) 1- it is not the easiest, there are no easy ways, as the west is beneifitng from our disorganization therefore either way they will fight back, however it is the fastest way to achieve national unity which is the most powerful weapon against pernicious imperialism from the west..therefore our differences need to be eliminated as fast as we can ..and the better way to achieve that is through moulding our own-specific-unique culture .remember united we stand ,divided we fall 2- Yes, it was supposed to be a natural process , emphasis on "was" however we can not ignore historical facts, through invasions and new actors came in and we are stuck in the dark age , assimilation is a natural process the weakest are swallowed up by the strongest, however with that new actor(westerner) we stayed at a level where our differences are too glaring, not only we stayed at such level but we were forced into countries which were formed by perverse minds with specific agenda. therefore our only solution is too accelerate that process or to provoke it 3- yes again, however through planning you can control such changes, control their effects etc, if we find rallying points such as common language, common spirituality which then will equal to common life style ,common thought process .with what implies : easiness of decision making, solidarity ,etc ..what we have today are countries with empty souls, thats why civil wars can easily pop up and govts can be easily overthrown even from outside, while with a specific and common identity there is reason to maintain these colonial cages, cause as i'm typing what is really being a cameroonian? we don't even speak the same language, we do not think alike, we dress differently and now through imperialism we are forced to promote english and french culture to maintain a balance, now you have francophools and anglophools . your battle is noble but too idealistic as it needs the west to leave us alon, but it is not going to happen , they have to be kicked out by force and you can only fight an enemy when you are united |
Re: Africa Is A Country Or Being Described As Country, What's The Matter by JiggamanGh: 2:56pm On Jan 04, 2015 |
CAMNEWTON4PRES: That's ignorance, you just describe ignorance in people. There's nothing racist about people asking ignorant questions especially when the majority that ask such questions are black or do you not know the definition of racist. Ignorance between africans and the western world goes both ways, as africans also believe that America is heaven where money is all around, africans believe that there are no poor people in America and the list goes on. Are Africans racist? No we are just ignorant of each other and is our job to correct them and not just accept it. You claim those calling Africa a country are racist but yet you choose to accept that Africa is country. In my eyes there is no difference between one who sees someone doing the wrong thing but chooses to ignore it. You are both in the wrong in my eyes. Don't let others write your story for you, write your own story. 1 Like |
