"You are travelling down a country lane to a distant village. You reach a fork in the road and find a pair of identical twin sisters standing there.

One sister is standing on the road to village and the other standing on the road to never-land (of course, you don't know or see where each road leads).

One of the sisters always tells the truth and the other always lies (of course, you don't know who is lying).

Both sisters know where the roads go.

If you are allowed to ask only one question to each of the sisters to find the correct road to the village,

What is your question?"

My questions are:
1. Do you know the road to the village (The truthful girl will say yes while the lair will say no)

2. Where is the road to the village (Depending on the reply I got from my first question I would already know who I am talking to whether the truthful girl or liar, hence I know the road to the village from whatever response I get from this question)

U got the question wrong...u can ask any just one question. Anyways the Àns is.......'If i ask ur twin the way to the village,which path would she show me"......the opposite of watever any of the twin tell u is the correct road. If u Àsk the liar,she wld show u the wrong route cuz she is À liar. If u ask the one that tells the truth,she wld show u the false road-being the one that lies wld say. So whichever àns u get from any of them simply take the opposite route. Shikena!

I would think its easier like this;
Since you've been given the hint that they are identical twins, and that one tells the truth and the other lies, the question you'd ask them should be:
"Is the other girl your twin sister?" Then depending on her answer you will know if she tells the truth or lies.
E.g If she says 'YES', You know she's the truthful one, you can then ask the other girl the road to the Village (Since she tells lies)-Common sense will tell you to do the opposite of whatever she tells you.

Alternatively, you can ask the other way, that is: 'If I ask your twin for the wrong route to the village, which route will she show me'........Both responses will lead to the right route.
Infact, asking just one of the twin the question,will lead you aright.

I would ask if they are twins from the reply i would know the lair and the honest one. Then ask where the road to the village is. So i can knw the right way to follow.

Ask one if the other is her sister to know who is who. Then ask the truthful sister were the road is.

The answer is already in the question. The question already stated that one sister is standing on the road to the village. And the question assumes that I know the road already, though unable to see the end. I don't even need to ask any of them anything. I will just follow the road to the village that one sister is standing on.
