I think it would be best if LvG plays the diamond midfield in the first half and then opts for the 4-4-1-1 formation in the second half. With this, Man Utd'll be guaranteed 2 sweet goals in the first 45 (Di Maria). We'll just come back and defend in the second half with fresh legs to spring on any mistakes and punish the opposition through counter attacks.

This weekend's lineup will probably be the same as last week's. LvG is looking for consistency

i don't think shaw has done enough to keep young on the bench. ashley young has been outstanding in the last few games - particularly against arsenal & the games that followed.

tony valencia also stepped it up a bit against liverpool but he is not a defender - he's not as good as smashley on the other side. fellaini will start ahead of herrera/mata simply because van gaal see him as the reason we have been finishing games strongly instead of hanging there like the earlier games.
