vooks: Are you daft !! I quoted John Wesley and William Tyndale not Jamie Fausset. Besides Jamie did not buy into the myth of the immortal soul which sort of destroys the foundation of your hell myth. Commenting on this verse, the Jamieson, Fausset and Brown Commentary says, "Here only, besides 1 Timothy 6:16, the word 'immortality' is found. Nowhere is immortality of the soul, distinct from the body, taught; a notion which many erroneously have derived from heathen philosophers. Scripture does not look for the anomalous state brought about by death, as the consummation to be earnestly looked for (2 Corinthians 5:4), but the resurrection." This comment acknowledges that the doctrine of the immortality of the soul is pagan in origin. It acknowledges that resurrection, not death, is the time of change and reward for the believer. |

CANTICLES: Ok lets check out what you are saying. Matthew 26;41 41 Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak. So what Jesus means here is that the breath is willing but the flesh is weak? Breath now has a will, right? You must be kidding. Luke 1;45, 46. 46 And Mary said, My soul doth magnify the Lord, 47 And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour. Breath now rejoices , right? joker. john 4;23,2 23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. 24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. And here Christ is saying we must worship God in our breath and in truth? See how foolish you reason. Romans 8:16 16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God. And here the spirit bears witness with our breath that we are children of God? See how foolish you reason just to twist the scripture to suit your false teaching. Repent now before it is too late for you. |

@ Honourhim .... Study the context !!! #1 God is a spirit /pneuma/ , not just an abstract But a real person that has personalties, But Has a " spiritual body" 1 cor 15:44 and they all live in heaven , the home of intelligent Spirit Beings that exist before the first man crawl out of dust ! ! #2 Spirit can also refer to the force dat makes a person do good or bad !!! Bible mentions " spirit of the world" 1 COR 2:12 ! This is not a person, but a force dat exhibit itself in sinners !!!! ....... #3 Man has a physical body that can ONLY survive on the planet earth!!! But the spirit from God in man refers to the " spirit in their Nostrils" Job 27:3 !! #4 When Jesus was a man on earth .... His spirit was his breath ! Or are u tellin me Jesus was in heaven the day he died , " father into ur hands i entrust my spirit" luk 23:46 .... Was he in heaven that day ?? |

vooks: I would have loved to discuss this with you,but as I read ur last posts, i realized you have your own view about what is resurrected and how man is resurrected. Pls ill like to understand ur view on resurrection and how man is being . On ur question on what will resurrected and where will they be before being resurrected. My answer is based on what God called man , he said " from dust you are, and dust you will return " Man is dust, if he will be resurrected , then he will be resurrected from dust. Until resurrection , man will remain dust. 2 Likes |

CAPTIVATOR: Cheap liars. Paul addressed two different issues and here you people have turned to his spokes person to relate what he said in Philippians 3 as what he meant in chapter 1. Paul said that to die is gain for him because he will go and be with Christ but that remain alive will be good for the people. Very clear statement. How does this relate with what he said in Philipians 3? saian is greatly using you people. True repentance is what you people need. I pity those you people are deceiving. |

Resurrection is clothing of disembodied spirits with immortal incorruptible bodies like what Christ resurrected with. Man is spirit clothed in flesh. At death, his spirit departs from him and the flesh suffers corruption. When you claim that man ceases to exist at death save for his flesh which also disintegrates, then God would have to RECREATE him afresh on resurrection. He has to RESTORE his memory, mind, will, intellect and all to a NEW body. It means whatever dies that is dolphinheart is not what is rewarded with eternity. dolphinheart: 1 Like |

CAPTIVATOR: You are still saying a different thing. Paul said in Philipians 1:21-24 that to die is gain for him.and he state his reason being- to go and be with Christ. vooks:Let me ask you the following questions. 1. What happens to the spirit when man dies ? 2.what is the spirit in man? 3 is the spirit in man different from the spirit in other living creatures eg animals? 4.if resurrection is clothing of disembodied spirits with imortal, incurruptible bodies. Then why did all those that where resurrected by jesus, elijah and the apostles become currupt/ die again ? Or where they not resurrected? 5. If man is spirit, are animals spirit too? 6. If man is a spirit clothed in flesh, and the bible says the spirit that God gave man returns to God in heaven, why did jesus say that no one has ascended to heaven , where God is but him that descended from heaven . ? 7. If man is the spirit, then what is the soul? 8. Which part of jesus went to hell? Ill like to have ur views on this questions . Note; when God created Adam, he was created out of dust . Adam already existed as man before the breathe of life came into him, making him to become a living soul. 2 Likes |

1. The spirit leaves the body 2. Spirit means spirit. A component of man that can survive outside the body and is distinct and unique to each man 3. Yes it is. God breathed it 4. 1 Corinthians 15 is a chapter I recommend. The hope of all Christians is not to merely come back from the dead but to be clothed with spiritual bodies which are immortal, incorruptible and powerful just like the one that Jesus resurrected in. Jesus is called firstborn from among the dead. Why is this yet there are so many that came back from the dead before him? It is he resurrected in a powerful body. All the others resurrected to their old corruptible bodies. And for this, they died again. 5. Animals are not spirits 6. Going back to God that gave it does not necessarily mean going to heaven. In any case, if the spirits of men went to heaven, that would be spirits not men! You need to study widely on this and not just pick verses that appear to suit what they fed you with. Has any man ever seen God? Did Isaiah see God? Hope you understand 7. Soul and spirit are used interchangeably. But it could be a third distinct component of man 8. I don't know about going to hell, but that would be his spirit since his body remained in the grave I note what you are saying about Adam. God made a body out of the earth, and ONLY after breathing into it his spirit did the body become animated Could you please explain to me 2 Cor 12:2,James 2:26.Thank you dolphinheart: |

vooks: 1. You are right, the spirit leaves the body. . 2. I asked : what is the spirit in man? U answered : Spirit means spirit. A component of man that can survive outside the body and is distinct and unique to each man Sir, the spirit (ru′ach) energizes and is the life-force that enables man to be an animated creature, to move, walk, be actively alive. (it will be explained further in the footnote later). In ur reply , pls explain further what u mean by the spirit is distinct and unique to each man. 3. I asked : is the spirit in man different from the spirit in other living creatures eg animals? U said : Yes it is. God breathed it I now say, if they are different, why does the bible say they are the same ? Psalms 104: 30 Ecclesiastes 3:18-22. 4. Sir , if man is spirit, why does he need a spirit body? Remember our discussion is based on the second resurrection. Are they expecting to be resurrected in spirit bodies too? Do the spiritual bodies need to be created from dust? The reason I asked about those that where resurrected by jesus is that there resurrection follows the same pattern as the second resurrection. But this time around, there fleshly bodies will be brought to perfection and like Adam, will not die as long as they follow Gods law. The following are excerpts from chapter 15 of revelation. 17 Further, if Christ has not been raised up, your faith is useless; you remain in your sins. 18 Then also those who have fallen asleep in death in union with Christ have perished. 19 If in this life only we have hoped in Christ, we are to be pitied more than anyone. (these shows man is the body that the spirit/life force activates, and not the spirit that leaves the body, cus the spirit/life force did not fall asleep/die ) 23 But eachone in his own proper order: Christ thefirstfruits, afterward those who belong to the Christ during his presence. 24 Next, the end, when he hands over the Kingdom to his God and Father, when he has brought to nothing all government and all authority and power. (After the first resurrection the end will come. some people will survive that end in the flesh and will not face death at all, hence no need of any form of resurrection. In the new world, there body will be made perfect like Adams was when he was created.) 35 Nevertheless, someone will say: “How are the dead to be raised up? Yes, with what sort of body are they coming?” ............38 but God gives it a body just as it has pleased him, and gives to each of the seeds its own body. .......... 40 And there are heavenly bodies and earthly bodies; but the glory of the heavenly bodies is one sort, and that of the earthly bodies is a different sort. .......... 48 Like the one made of dust, so too are those made of dust; and like the heavenly one, so too are those who are heavenly. + 49 And just as we have borne the image of the one made of dust, we will bear also the image of the heavenly one.+ (the first to be ressurected will have heavenly (spirit) bodies. The ones of the second resurrection will have perfect fleshly bodies.) To be continued......... |

2. mean, spirit of dolphinheart is not spirit of vooks just as your body is unique to you from mine 3. I told you they are different because God called animals out of the water and earth whereas he put his spirit in man. They may both be spirits but one came from God. 4. God made a body and breathed his spirit in it. This means the body minus the spirit is not man as such and vice versa. Man after death exists as spirit. This is what John saw under the altar. The spirit will be clothed with a glorified, powerful and incorruptible body also called spiritual. Look at Jesus after resurrection and you will get the idea. This is what I mean when I say man is a spirit housed in a body. Paul and Peter both talk of the body as being a house or container for the man. 2 Peter 1:13-14 (ESV) I think it right, as long as I am in this body, to stir you up by way of reminder, 14 since I know that the putting off of my body will be soon, as our Lord Jesus Christ made clear to me. 15 And I will make every effort so that after my departure you may be able at any time to recall these things. Here Peter talking of death speaks of putting off the house/tabernacle/body. 2 Corinthians 5:1-10 (ESV) 1 For we know that if the tent that is our earthly home is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. 2 For in this tent we groan, longing to put on our heavenly dwelling, 3 if indeed by putting it on we may not be found naked. 4 For while we are still in this tent, we groan, being burdened—not that we would be unclothed, but that we would be further clothed, so that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life. 5 He who has prepared us for this very thing is God, who has given us the Spirit as a guarantee. 6 So we are always of good courage. We know that while we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord, 7 for we walk by faith, not by sight. 8 Yes, we are of good courage, and we would rather be away from the body and at home with the Lord. 9 So whether we are at home or away, we make it our aim to please him. 10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive what is due for what he has done in the body, whether good or evil. Here Paul speaks of the body as a tent. If it is a tent and we are putting it on, Paul is clearly distinguishing between 'we' and the body. I can't possibly put it more plainly. dolphinheart: |

vooks: 5. If animals are not spirits, what are they? Why then do you say man is spirit ? Because the bible helps us to know that man and animals are alike. 6.Sir, my questioned was aimed at showing you that your statement that man is a spirit or the spirit inside man is the man is false. You have explained it that man is not the spirit in him urself here. Man is said to go to the grave, his spirit/life force does not follow him to the grave. 7. Soul and spirit are not used interchangeably. Soul and spirit do not mean the same thing. The Greek and hebrew words used for soul and spirit in the bible are different and have different meaning . So I still ask you, what is the soul(that could be distinct third component of man ) 8.That is/ could not be his spirit. Jesus went to hell, the bible says when someone dies his spirit leaves him and his spirit does not follow him to hell. How can you then atribute man to his spirit when the bible says man went to hell?by the way, what do you understand by hell.? To be continued......... |
