Is this the only only thing he did with 6 years. shame on him cos his flaws are more than his achievement... Buhari military government Major-General Buhari was selected to lead the country by middle and high-ranking military officers after a successful militarycoup d'etatthat overthrew civilianPresidentShehu Shagarion December 31, 1983. At the time, Buhari was head of the Third Armored Division ofJos.[7]Buhari was appointed Head of State andCommander-in-Chiefof the Armed Forces, andTunde Idiagbonwas appointed Chief of General Staff (the de facto No. 2 in the administration). Buhari justified the military's seizure of power by castigating the civilian government as hopelessly corrupt, and his administration subsequently initiated a public campaign against indiscipline known as "War Against Indiscipline" (WAI). Aspects of this campaign included public humiliation of civil servants who arrived late for work whilst guards were armed with whips to ensure orderly queues atbus stops.[8]He also moved to silence critics of his administration, passing decrees curbing press freedoms and allowing for opponents to be detained up to three months without formal charges.[9]He also banned strikes and lockouts by workers[9]and founded Nigeria's firstsecret policeforce, the National Security Organization.[10]His government sentenced popular musician and political criticFela Kutito ten years in prison on charges thatAmnesty Internationaldenounced as fabricated and politically motivated;[11]Kuti was later pardoned and released by Buhari's successor.[12]In another high-profile incident that sparked a diplomatic incident with Britain, British officials foundUmaru Dikko,Shehu Shagari's former transportation minister drugged in a crate marked for shipment toLagos.[13]According to the BBC, "Buhari's attempts to re-balance public finances by curbing imports led to many job losses and the closure of businesses."[14]These losses were accompanied by a rise in prices and a decline in living standards.[14]Some may hold contrary view to this assertion andcall it mischievous though,[15]because Buhari is admired by many for his uprightness and stand against corruption. His government is revered for its ability to keep the country afloat by making progress through sheer economic ingenuity even when it rejectedIMFloan and refused to adoptIMFconditionalities to devalue theNaira.[16]His government is praised for its gain in reducinginflationby refusing to devalue the nation's currency, theNigerian Naira, curbing imports of needless goods, curtailingoiltheft and usingcounter tradepolicy to barter seized illegally bunkeredcrude oilfor needful goods like machineries, enabling it to export above itsOPECquota.[1]The economic principles and political ideology of the Buhari military government is calledBuharismby some political and economic writers and speakers.[3][4] Extracted from wikipedia. |

The present administration makes the Railway system the most expensive.... Iddo/Apapa Terminus to Ijoko Terminus (Lagos-Ogun) the railway experience there is totally different from all the super story u guyx are narrating on NL. The Jona led govt increase d fare frm#170 to #230 with d promise dat d Locomotive and Coaches will b change but surprisingly we stused d same dat hav bin in existence since Pre 1960 is wat is in operation. The new Loco&Coach display here on line is only meant 4 d executive citizen, coz an average Nigeria can not afford to pay #750 for a fare... MR Jona led Govt is nt @ any way supportin d masses, but full of deceitful 2 Likes |

I'm trying to be objective in the next years election. I don't want to take sides but I believe that we all thrive for a better Nigeria. if Buhari will give us better than GEJ then by all means let him win and take over |

angelsing:There are certain phrases you hear, and once you hear them come out of a person's mouth just forget whatever impression you had of them and realize that the person you are discussing with is an unrepentant, hateful and devilish bigot that hates on the grounds of religion, ethnicity, s*ex, or any flimsy irrelevant excuse you can think of. Primary amongst these phrases are: "They should condemn Boko Haram" "The devil you know is better than the angel you don't know" "APC and PDP are the same ...so let's vote PDP" "GEJ is younger" Think up any idiotic phrase you can imagine, and it's usually an excuse to not come out openly and say "I will never vote Buhari because even though he's obviously the better choice, but he's a Muslim and a Northerner---and I hate both Muslims and Northerners". 1 Like |

Toktee: What argument do you have? Read some of his GEJs achievements below and stop suffering yourself for tyrants that want to get to power by all means. SOME GEJ's ACHIEVEMENTS. GEJ's administration. 1. Total reconstruction of the Benin Ore road was done during GEJ's tenure. Before now, travelers sleep in Orè for two to three days before getting to their destination and that was when OBJ was there. 2. Total transformation of our rail lines. Orè networks created between ABUJA, Kano and kaduna. Transformation of rail lines in LAGOS. Now the railway moves much more people than before when it was in comatose. 3. Establishing Federal Universities in all states of the Federation. OBJ did not do it. 4. Empowering the youths who have the zeal for entrepreneurship and development. We can see it in YouWIN program currently running now. 5. Feasible and accountable transformation in the agricultural sector which we all saw the launching of YEAP today in Abuja. 6. Many kilometers of road construction going on in the north. 7. Starting the Second Niger bridge. This was thrown into the thrash during OBJ tenure because our law makers in the north supported by those in the southwest never supported the bill each time it was mentioned. 8. Stability in petroleum supply. Before now, we suffered fuel scarcity every Xmas when OBJ was there. It became a ritual that every Xmas our hearts skip when you remember that you are going to travel and fuel will be scarce. It was always a scary experience. 9. Privatization of PHCN which was usually a conduit pipe, through which NIGERIANS stole money. OBJ spent more than 16 Billion dollars and when he left, the power sector was totally in ruins. It was privatized and the funds realized from the sale of this government assets were always shared amongst the state governments. Have you asked your state governor what he does with the monthly allocation he gets from ABUJA regularly? By the way, funds realized from privatization are usually shared amongst state governments, have you ever woke up one say to ask your governor what he does with your state allocation? 10. Most federal roads that were abandoned by OBJ are all under construction today. LAGOS Ibadan expressway is a good example. The work is ongoing. 11. Apapa oshodi expressway is also ongoing. It was in ruins during OBJ tenure. 12. This is the most tolerant government I have ever seen in Nigeria. During OBJ's tenure, you are you to abuse him or come to media to insult him? The next morning, EFCC officials will be the ones to wake you up at 5 am with your file in their hands. 13. Total rehabilitation of all our international airports. 14. Encouraged local manufacture and assembly of vehicles in Nigeria thereby creating jobs and value. Eg, Inosson motors, Nissan, and peuogot. 15. Ajaokuta started production during GEJ's government. Right from Shagari's tenure, to Buhari, IBB, shonekan, Abdulsalam and OBJ, steel mill was in comatose. GEJ transformed it and it started working. People are employed there. 16. Building of federal university in Katsina, something GMB never saw necessary when he was head state. 17. Building of schools and encouraging northerners to send their wards to school so as to liberate them from the clutches of evil islamic cleric who brainwash them into embracing all manners of evil including suicide bombing. 18. GEJ encouraged the entertainment industry and it is a remarkable support for those in the industry. Did OBJ look their way? Yet haters call him clueless. GEJ till 2019. 4 Likes 2 Shares |

It is very difficult to swallow ones pride, it take many moments of reality checks to pull off such stunt. I see some people in their reality distortion field claiming that a functioning railway system is not a progress. All they want is everything in the country should be a projection of their mind but this isn't so, therefore they resort to denials and outright lies even undermining their own principles in order to change reality. But we are no fools. |
