Why Buhari Will & Can Not Fight Corruption. by Whynotthetruth(m): 3:12pm On Dec 21, 2014 |
The APC presidential candidate; Alhaji Muhammad Buhari, to me would have been appreciated more by my kind, if he remained an elder statesman, and kingmaker than positioning himself in the front burner of politics. He may end up according to my calculations ruining the integrity and respect he enjoys from some Nigerians hitherto now. His supporters believe that he is the messiah to rescue Nigeria. But in truth, history shows that he won't dare confront the menace of corruption. Why 1) Politics all over the world is undertaken with money; which Buhari is telling us that he doesn't have. This implicitly means he will depend on others(APC governors & stakeholders) to sponsor and bankroll his campaign. This is corruption already. How? The cash these governors will use to sponsor him are state funds and not Buhari's fund or the governor's personal fund. Isn't it corruption already? How will he fight them later??. 2) For Buhari to have before now, publicly exonerated the Abacha's of corruption means he is going to repeat the event of first time in office where he practiced selective prosecution. How Remember, after his coup d'etat, he kept Shagari under house arrest and jailed his deputy; Ekwueme. Why Is the "boy" more corrupt than "his boss"? 3) Will Buhari after being sponsored by the likes of Jagaban turn around and prosecute him Impossible. He won't have that moral right. 4) Remember, the case of 53 suitcases linked to an emir. If he never prosecuted those then; how will he now? I heard he blamed Atiku(the then controller general of custom) for that. Is it Atiku that was the head of state?? is it Atiku that will prosecute the emir? 5)Buhari may not have enriched himself as PTF boss, but his cronies did. Most staff of PTF under him did. So is same scenario not going to play out if elected again Thank You...Ichie B. 13 Likes 2 Shares |

Hmmm...you have some points. Honestly I am voting for Buhari in the coming election because there is no any other viable alternative not because I believe in any old politician's sainthood. We need change and he seems to be the only one allowed for now. Personally, I can't endure another 4 years of this regime that keep promising without actions. 7 Likes |

lacasa: Truth be told, you have no well founded evidence to support this claim of yours other than sentiments and your emotional attachment to GMB...Yes, because since the advent of this GMB presidential dream, he has NEVER for once declared his plans(constructive, verifiable and empirical) plans on how he hopes to do it better than GEJ...His campaign manifesto so far is based simply on insulting GEJ and stocking the embers of sentiments of his lowly life...Remember, his declaration where he quoted false figures and subsequent PDP redress and challenge to him... So how do you know he has better plans than GEJ Or are you a mind reader? 17 Likes |

What change does Buhari represent Change to parochialism Has he acquired any new ideas or is he planning to use 1984 solutions on a 2014 challenges That's disaster for sure...What's his roadmap to a better Nigeria Let him present it for all to see if he had any, which I doubt. Whynotthetruth:what a hypocrite! You have no proof Buhari is being sponsored by state governors. Forget all the lies being told by your saiTANic agents that Amaechi is sponsoring Buhari. You do not see anything wrong with the 27billion naira donation for Jonathan's re-election? Isn't that corruption at its finest? Even PHCN donated 500milliion naira of our electricity bills to Jonathan. What do you say about that? 5 Likes |

Whynotthetruth: You people are very annoying. New Ideas. What new ideas has Jonathan espoused?. You people are making him sound like some intellectual even when the guy is modest enough to have admitted that he lacks this very quality. Buhari and Idiagbon did some very innovative things to the Nigerian economy at a time we were almost wrecked by international conspiracies. You are being very ignorant when you say Buhari is promising 1984 solutions. Please read the 2015 budget document. Nigeria has come full circle to 1984 - Import substitution, exchange control, banning of imports, reduction in govt expenditure, taxation of luxury goods that is what the PDP gov t has come back to. Please read wide and pray for understanding. The people who are running America are not the Obama's, Obama is a symbol of power. The true power holders are in Federal Reserve Bank, top investment banks and top socio economic research institutes and the average age is 70. It is very dangerous to say the old and genuine is worse to the young and fake. 5 Likes |

berem: Bro, I will appreciate that we use our heads(brains cum logic) here not our hearts(emotions). Plz don't use insulting words. Now, is PHCN still existing in Nigeria Don't show yourself as an ignoramus. I am disappointed by the ignorance of most of us. Can you kindly tell me how Buhari's campaign will be funded and by who please Remember, Buhari has already said he has at least a million in his account, which you know isn't enough to campaign even in a single state. So who and how will he make up the deficits? 6 Likes |

Adminisher: Issues about Buhari's economic policies of 1984 has been handled in another thread where datolee exposed the lies, inadequacies and untruths about that. Why not ask barcanista his experience in that thread. So I wouldn't go back to argue on that. Wow, who said those indices are traceable to buhari? did he invent those ideas? was he the one that told GEJ to implement those ideas If his economic blueprint as you said has been exhausted by GEj team, it then means he has NOTHING again to offer?? chemali: Seriously I wanted to ignore you because of your usage of the word; "your president". Are you not Nigerian?? I am Nigerian and I am proud he is my president. But since, I am interested in your soul, let me honour you with a little answer. The thread is about Buhari, who you guys is repackaging as incorruptible and that he has a magic wand to solve all Nigerian problems though you and him all refuse to tell us what this magic wand is At least to substantiate that GEJ is doing something about eliminating corruption... Why not take a trip to see local farmers and ask them about e-wallet and fertilizer distribution system. I believe you were aware of the extent of scam and rot in this sector before now GEJ is being realistic and taking it one at a time...I don't believe in putting all fingers in the mouth at once...take it sector by sector and get it right once...that's why we need CONTINUITY!!! 4 Likes |

Whynotthetruth: The question of fertilizers has been addressed by a former minister of agriculture which I won't go through pains to repeat. There is progress . However, I have listed at least 5 corrupt cases in that thread, why didn't he respond. You think 2015 is about Buhari? It isn't. It's about Jonathan and how he is ruining our lives while enriching his cronies. 1 Like |

lacasa: I keep saying it that ignorance is tooooooo bad. Where is Buhari's manifesto for his 2015 presidential election? Where is his economic blueprint and magic wand Let him empirically tell us exactly where we are now using verifiable data and where he is taking us to if elected and how GEJ transformation agenda is a micro extract of PDP manifesto. Where is that of Buhari We need to weigh it using standard gauge. By the way, this your utopian APC manifesto is simply unrealistic. I don't have time to xray it here and now. It is full of utopian and unrealistic academic write up. Why has they not achieved those their listed agenda(mission) in the APC states??.?. Or is it only feasible to them at federal level? They wanted devolution of power what was their stand on it at the national confab which they grudgingly attended without any clear cut agenda?? 3 Likes |

By posting that link, you saying that PDP is not bad after all because the years in review there are all under PDP rule But by the way; Which Bello are you showing me his write up here? Bello who got the uncommon opportunity of being agric minister for almost 7years with no tangible achievement which statistics is he showing a magical 6.5% parallel growth in all parts Under who did we have 14billion fertilizer scam under who did we see portfolio farmers and abuja farmers? I challenge you to take a trip to the local farmers for a first hand information not lies and propaganda in the media... There's a thread on that already in Nairaland...go feed your eyes and calm flaired nerves... About your thread, I stated that GEJ is taking it one at a time...not being jack of all trades master of none...we take it sector by sector....since agricultural sector is settled; guess our next port of call...its all continuity bro 2 Likes |

chemali: Wow...are you the only one in "Israel" who doesn't know what is happening GEJ has his "transformation agenda" which has been his template for guided integrated development strategy. It's that same "TRANSFORMATION AGENDA" that is manifesting in the new "industrial revolution master plan"...in the new automotive policy which has seen auto giants scrambling to set up new plants here(have you heard about even our own innoson)... agricultural transformation which saw our food import cost drastically run down from 1trillion to around 634billlion and is still going down...ask flour mills, dangote, etc who are setting up farms what is driving them ....have you seen our transport sector master plan and the accompanying revolution Even international agencies like KPMG acknowledged it yet you and Buhari are yet to wake up to reality....
