No. Let's leave sentiments for once and reason with our brains. If the president so desires an official role for the wife, nothing stops him from appointing her minister of women affairs. It does not mean that women lack value. In fact, there is the ministry for women affairs which is constitutionally established to tackle women problems and help improve them. The office of the first lady, though unconstitutional, now holds sway with a vast budgetary allocation and a source of unnecessary distraction to the office of the president.
