Fifteen Achievements Of General Buhari - To Doyin Okupe by Rawani: 2:08am On Dec 27, 2014
Here are some of General Buhari's numerous achievements while in office; for FREE

1. The wrestling of a major concession from OPEC in 1984 to increase Nigeria's oil production quota from 1.3 million barrels to 1.45 million barrels per day.

2. The initiation of a public campaign against indiscipline known as "War Against Indiscipline" (WAI). This policy won him national and universal applause, as a result of its effectiveness.

3. In order to reform the economy, as Head of State, Buhari started to rebuild the nation's social-political and economic systems, along the realities of Nigeria's austere economic conditions. The rebuilding included removing or cutting back the excesses in national expenditure, obliterate or remove completely corruption from the nation's social ethics, shifting from mainly public sector employment to self employment. Buhari also encouraged import substitution industrialisation based to a great extent on the use of local materials and he tightened importation.

4. General Buhari in 1984, was able to achieve 15 percent cut from Shagari's 1983 Budget.

5. The victory of Nigeria's Under-17 Team (the Golden Eagles) at the Kodak World Cup Soccer Competition in China in August, 1985.

6. Even as a Military Head of State, Buhari maintained and enhanced diplomatic relations with all countries and international organisations such as the OAU, UN, OPEC, ECOWAS and the Commonwealth of Nations. He also honoured all treaty obligations entered into by previous governments.

7. The freezing of accounts of political parties and corrupt ex-political office holders in the Second Republic in 1984.

8. The change of colour of the nation's currency notes (except the fifty kobo note) in April 1984 to stop currency trafficking. The exercise rendered almost half of the estimated N6 billion in circulation worthless at the expiration of the change.

9. The launching of the Expanded Immunization Programme (EPI) in May, 1984.

10. The wrestling of a major concession from OPEC in 1984 to increase Nigeria's oil production quota from 1.3 million barrels to 1.45 million barrels per day.

BONUS:

11. The introduction of a new Customs Tariff, which reduced the range of import duties from between zero and 500 per cent to between 5 per cent and 200 per cent.

12. The granting of import duty exemption to only twenty items including agricultural implements, air craft, fuels, lubricants, educational films, technical assistance materials etc.

13. The imposition of a levy on dormant companies

14.The rescheduling of the nation's short term trade debts valued at over =N=5 billion and the subsequent issuance of promissory notes to the uninsured creditors.

15. The procurement of new Air Buses by Nigeria Airways in 1985 to boost air transportation.

Note that all these were achieved in less than 3 years, and his outstanding achievements as PTF chairman have not been mentioned.

Sai Buhari 2015!

Dear Chief (Dr) Doyin Okuigbe JP. please kindly request for Mr Rawani's account number and send the 250,000 naira you promised so that you will not become a double crown bastard because you are already a bastard as APC is more than a year which your Israeli, Iraqi, Egyptian and Pakistani marabouts told you will not be.

Also dear presidential attack dog, please kindly tell us why our dearest thieving president wants to buy the eleventh presidential jet as included in the proposed 2015 budget even when our dear ex world bank fraudster and economy minister Dr NOI told the masses that she and her fellow looters are introducing austerity measures as a result of low oil price.

In your neck of the woods, reducing the cost of governance and saving money is not an achievement right? Just the way you don't think stealing is corruption...not surprising.

He was only in power for 18 months. Give him kudos for the little he was able to achieve. He would have achieved more if he was in power for 4-6 years. Now compare what he achieved in 18 months to what GEJ achieved as a Governor, Acting president and President.

Telling people how to stand in bus queues should not be the business of FG.

It is embarrassing to suggest it is even in this day.

Sai Buhari 2015!

See grasping at straws and rigging of polls.
#1 and #10 are the same. #3 and #4 is vague piffle amounting to the same thing.
#5. - The only association he had with that team was christening them "golden eaglets". The young boys that won that Kodak sponsored tournament were put together and taken there by YSFON. The FG had absolutely nothing to do with it.

What a woeful shame

Instead of you to gather some Buhari supporters to contribute for this man to go back to school and learn the meaning of achievement, you are here clamouring for him to get paid when he has said nothing of note and certainly nothing deserving of a vote for the sharia kingpin

Pitiful...Buhari is a lack luster candidate and was an even less impressive head of state and he should do something meaningful in his next lifetime

Young Man U have a point!!! Perhaps winning of competition should not be classed as achievement...

The key question is, within 18months, was GMB able to affect the lives of Nigerians positively??! If your answer is yes, then state what you benefitted from that regime..

you are right my brethren. But if Bayelsa residents know how to organise themselves there would not have been several casualties when they were struggling for Mama Piss Sheppopo rice and oil some weeks ago. Also, the number of young graduates sacrificed for their occultic gods during the Immigration fraudulent recruitment would have been less.

Translate to English please.

There was corruption in Nigeria before, during and after Buhari regime and to this day there is still corruption. So I don't quite understand what obliterating corruption means?

Ban on importation does not translate to local manufacturing from thin air. Did Buhari have any clear policy to encourage local manufacturing? By way giving incentive to local manufacturers? Support knowledge and technology transfer? Issuing decrees and banning importations is too easy!

How can this be classed as an achievement?

Is there any evidence that Buhari accomplished the same or more amount of projects with this 15% reduction?

I remember queuing up for milk, omo, sugar &c dubbed "essenco" then because of widespread shortages! Yes these were scarce! I remember fear and dull depression. You young ones born after 1984 have a romaticized view of that terrible time.

You see.... It wasn't a remark. GEJ went on facebook to declare that he directed his minister to arrest the rot in sport ministry in which the result was the achievement of our boys in their triumphant display.

I don't have time to waste on people who have no open mind. I can't just waste my time on people who have buried their heads in the sand.
