I text DATA to 8186 in order to activate several times and I kept getting the message “the device imei 3536xxxxxx3928 is invalid.” At times it gave me false hope by returning the message “You have a pending request, please wait for confirmation” but to no avail.
I bought three pcs of Infinix hot during the Konga 12-12 shopping festival; till date none of them had been activated. I emailed Etisalat customer care and they told me to supply them with the following details for each of the phones: Etisalat Mobile Number, Device IMEI, Device Type, Device Offer, Error Messages, Channel of Purchase and attach a scanned copy of the receipt.
I did all that accurately and they informed me that they are carrying out an investigation and that they would reply me within 24 hours. No response till date.
That was how MTN, Innjoo and Jumia deceived Nigerians that they would provide free data for some Innjoo phones bought at Jumia. I bought two pcs of Innjoo i1s back then, did all the necessary texting and emailing to no avail.
Why do these reputable establishments and service providers have to use deceptive tactics in order to sell their products? They should realize Nigerians would still patronize their products even if they don’t scoop so low. In more civilized societies they would be held to account.

Sir can u check d back of your fone pack for d imei number written der n also dial *#06# on ur phone n check if d imei number on d pack tallies with dat of d fone.. If it doesn't then dats d problem . U wud av to change ur imei no to dat written on d pack.... It happened to me wen I bought my Zero I found out dat error n i changed it since den av bin given 500mb every month

just to add to dis no need to reboot ur fone just switch on to airplane mode and switch off again.... Ur imei wud change *#06# for confirmation
