In war, surrounding your enemy is not really surrounding his country, your target is his military force.
All Egypt has to do is to surround every battalion, brigade, division/corp of Algerian forces that they meet on land, sea and air.
1.5 million soldiers, 30,000 tanks/IFV/LAV/missiles/ICBMs/artillery, 250 F-16 jets, 50 Apache Helicopter gunships, 50 fast missile crafts/corvettes/frigates/submarines, Egypt can surround any African military force from any African country.
If Egypt wants war with me, I will ask for peace negotiations, why should I die before my time?
.
LOL.facing egypt=committing suicide, genocide, patricide, matricide, homicide, and every other 'cide' that exist.but viewing it objectively, from a military angle;it is almost impossible for egypt to use or have control of all its arsenal during a war, neither will all of egypt's soldiers be fit to fight a war at any given time.in a war of proxy, much would depend on the countries between egypt and algeria.

Egyptian army is no longer the skinny ordinary men that fought Israel 40 years ago, Egypt today 2014 has an army like Sparta !

Egyptian army has changed physically and technologically since 1970s, in physical strength, only Algeria and Nigeria can match Egyptian soldiers in Africa, no other country has that level of soldier stamina and physical combat skills

At the top of my head, IFV's that are better than the patria

1, BMPT terminator
2, VBCI
3, piranha v
4, Bradley IFV
5, BTR-4E
6, BMP 3
7, chinese ZBD-08
8, german puma
9, Israeli Namer IFV.

- Terminator - not actually an IFV, its an AFV (clown)
- VCBI, why is it better?
- Piranga V, i guess its soo good no one bothered to buy it grin grin
- Bradley is tracked and is a cold war relic. And is a different class of IFV
- BTR-4E, you mean the BMP3 with a different engine?
- ZBD-08 is a different class of IFV
- Puma is tracked and is a different class of IFV
- Namer is tracked and is a different class of IFV

You are comparing apples to oranges

Compare the Patria to vehicals in its class and then tell us actually why they are better.

Either way, its of no consequence, we have the best IFV in Africa (if not the world) and you have nothing that compares

The Finish patria isn't the world's best IFV.

Nigerian army BTR-4E ranks top.

We also Operate Africa's most modern MBT behind Algeria's T-90. Nigerian army

First, tell us why it is better.

It has inferior protection, no mine protection, inferior weapons systems

It cant even stand up to HMG's when the Patria can handle direct hits from RPG's

Olifant is far equally advanced if not more

The technical specs of BTR-4 beats the Patria or Badger

How do the technical specs beat the Patria?

Which war has the Patria fought in? Uhhh... Afghanistan, where it survived multiple RPG hits

First things first.

Nigeria is in number 3.
South-Africa in number 7.

Egypt doesn't have a better military than Algeria. They might have a larger military, but Algeria has the sustainance. There is no proof the Egyptians can sustain their military over a prolonged war with another nation. Algeria also has a more modern military.

Tanzania has a decent military, but their inventory doesn't go far enough. They are much like Rwanda.

South Africa ranks above Nigeria

I proved BTR-4 is more sophisticated and more modern than Patria

http://tanknutdave.com/the-ukrainian-btr-4-apc-family/
.

How, stop posting random links and tell us how.

Patria has better protection
Patria has better weapons systems
Patria has more modern electronics

BTR-4 is nothing impressive and is out of its league in comparison to the Badger

well Egypt need a very buoyant army not because of any sub Saharan African nation, but because of the neighbourhood in which she finds herself. Mohammed Ali started determining the role of the Egyptian military by her geographical position since the 19th century when he built an army of about 90,000 men, even the Turkish sultan had to call on Egypt to free mecca from the onslaught of the Wahabis. By 1826 Egypt already had an army of 90.000 men. The eastern question was beginning to have its answer. The Europeans began to regard Egypt as the next Arabian power. As at then though some of the men that made up the Egyptian army were farmers and slaves ( falahan) they were whiped into subjection and trained to obey and execute military commands. This men were trained by French mercenaries. With that said i will like to let you all know that the Egyptian military have recorded more war than any state that exists or have ever existed in Africa. I ll be back with a list of the battles where the Egyptian military have been committed.

all those things are products of experience. Do not be carried away by mzilakazi's theory of training overshadows experience. In a true combat situation every little advantage no matter how little it seems to be will aid you in mapping out your moves. And it is experience that gives you a hint into possible outcomes. It is experience that let you know that this is how your enemy may or may not behave in a situation were the doctrine on which you were trained do not apply. It is experience that fires ingenuity, innovation, cunninness and strategy.

a superb analysis on your part.but i beg to differ, experience does not necessarily grant an average soldier the unique skill of ingenuity, subtle art of cunningness and ponderous ability of strategy.yes, the more the experience, the more the knowledge and skills gained, but i do not believe that a brilliant mind and perspective can be gained through experience,it can only be gained through ardous training of the mind and body.

show us ur 'non-battle tested' IFV again

First, that is the non-standard version with an anti-rpg cage

Second, the Patria has seen extensive combat in Afghanistan - one particular Patria survived no less than two RPG-7 rockets without sustaining any damage. And it was not equipped with slat armor (which can still be fitted)

Patrias which are more heavily armored (like ours) can survive up to 30mm armor piercing rounds
http://www.military-today.com/apc/patria_amv.htm

Your BTR-4 is only protected against 7.62 ball ammunition
http://www.military-today.com/apc/btr_4.htm

Further, the fact that our patria uses modular armor means that we can armor it as we need it. We can put light armor on it and stick it in planes or exploit its amphibious abilities, or we can stick heavy armor on it so it can survive a fight with anything smaller than a main battle tank

Your simple BTR-4 has limited modularity - meaning limited abilities to up armor it. Your only real option is slat armor which is only effective against older generation RPG's and not HMG's. Your BTR-4 also has ZERO IED/mine protection - unlike ours which has been extensively upgraded to counter just that risk. Not to mention that it has HUGE FREAKING WINDOWS which arent very effective at stopping bullets.

Not to mention that the weapons systems we designed for the badger are so effective that we have allready sold them to other nations - before the vehical has even entered service!!

BTR-4 is a modern generation advanced IFV and one of the best in the world today. Nigerian BTR-4 beats the Badger on speed and amphibious capability. Badger is a dry land only IFV grin grin

There are several different versions of BTR-4 with different cannon from 20mm to 120mm and different armour from bullet resistant to RPG resistant armour tested and proven.
