My point of advice is based on what i used at the embassy, I don't dispute what @LadyGuinivere said, cos her own point too was based on experience, so to be on a safer side, I'll advise you login back to your appointment page and use the feedback page at at the left menu list. I am sure they will help you correct it within 24hours if need be. Just make sure you scan the data page of your international passport and attach with the mail for quick action. They will definitely ask for it.

U can use either an invite or hotel reservation. The issue however is to be certain of the immigration status of the person inviting you for eg- how did he get to the US? So you don't use another person's reggae spoil your blues. If you aren't 100percent certain, IMO use a hotel reservation

fill your ds-160 online, go to any gtbank and pay visa fees, go to the appointment booking website and book appointment. If you have any other questions you can ask everyone here

When you enter an application for anything, you are made to fill a form wherein the interviewer has access to your details upfront. For the US visa interview DS 160 is such a form and must be filled.
My candid and heartfelt advice to prepare you for the easy yet rigourous journey that is US visa? Open the US visa site and read thru. When you are thru with that, read this site from page 1 to the end (its an interesting read)
Why? you will ask. Afterall we can answer your questions? Because from the questions you are asking , you are still a novice and the sure way to get this visa is not by shortcuts. U must have a firm grasp of the processes. We can answer all your questions but there will still be holes. And it takes a split second for the VO to bounce somebody

it is just like jamb, if you don't fill jamb form you can't write exam, and it's the combination you fill for jamb you are tested on, so you must fill a ds-160 and you interview is solely based on what you filled in your ds-160 and your supporting documentation, please read through the thread and also read the other thread where the v.o answers questions and also read this website http://www.ustraveldocs.com/ng/ng-niv-ds160complete.asp

you will apply for b1/b2, you will probably need the invitation too and take a copy of your wife and son's visa just incase, and any other document to support your claim because the v.o might ask for any document so have it handy and the v.o might not ask too. Just be sure to fill your form well and take necessary documents along with you

@Verrady U can't work on a B1/B2 visa. U would just be a fugitive and waste the money y'all saved up.And that person inviting you guys now will probablybot be able to house you guysa for long. Whoever that is telling you to migrate thru that route is giving u real bad advice!

I do not know where you got all your info from. With Visit visa that's B1/B2 , the lenght of time given is at the discretion of the VO, although most times the regular time frame is 2 years.
However, it is of great importance that you know that even if you are granted a 2year visa, u cannot stay in d US beyond 6 months each visit. It is better to live on your teacher's salary than to go and violate your visa conditions bc you go pour sand sand for your garri, the garri of your inviter and the garri of any of your family members that is unlucky after you go.

Hmm! I was denied a Us visa last year September at the Abuja Embassy

My colleagues at work blame me for the refusal because I use the DIY method due to the advice I got from you guys here. They said agents are in the best position to help me. Well, that's gone


Now, I want to re-apply and the problem now is that my status has not changed because I still work in my company, still married with a kid, not travelled except from the two countries have been too. And it was my company that sponsored me the last time I applied but now I wanna apply myself via tourist because I have no relative nor friend in the states. Am planning to apply in easter period.

Pls can I apply alone? Or with my family?

The problem is that I have not travel with my family in the past and my kid is just 4yrs old

@adigunomomama long time no see, you ran away from the thread since. Well in my opinion I will prefer to continue to do it myself till I get the visa o because those agents have their way of messing things up and filling wrong informations for someone and you really can't access those informations again compared to uk that they will even return the form you filled when returning your passport, I think you should try to get another country's visa first before reapplying because that's just what i'm doing, i'm also attending a 2nd interview in Lagos this February and I pray for favour and please don't use agents o so you don't have issues at all.
