Useless engineers in all our armed forces can't build even a toy helicopter.

The news is somewhat spoiled for me by news that they're being worked on by a South African firm. I'm done with African Unity. Nigeria should
always go it alone whenever possible. These people in Africa are enemies.

you still haven't understood why i said so ,calling armed forces engineering personnel 'useless' , because its obvious you don't know the amount of input they bring.

Kai,
Those birds are sweet.

We need an experienced tactician to command this helicopter force. Someone that knows how best to inflict maximum damage on Boko Haram equipment and firepower using these birds in close support with military intelligence.
I hope they have night fighting capability with infra-red. So that they are used mainly at night to hit the Boko boys, their tanks and armored vehicles with surprise cheesy attacks.

Let's just hope we have our own engineers that are for the moment at least capable of sporting faults after the South Africans have finished the modifications we presumably demanded of them after parting with good, hard, unbiased currency. We don't want to hear any long tales essentially aimed at blaming our pilots for errors likely due elsewhere should these crafts form the habit of dropping out of the skies.

You've done an excellent job already bro. Like you, I believe it's a South-African ATE up-grade. The Algerians also have this up-grade, the MI-35 Super Hind.

The problem is, we don't know where we bought the basic hinds from.

We have outstanding orders for a significant amount of MI-35M and MI-171sh from russia. We signed this contract at ADEX 2014. All brand new.

We also have a previous order for MI-171SH and 3 second hand MI-35P helicopters from Russia

There is also the order for 12 up-graded MI-35P helicopters from belarus.

Lastly, we have MI-17 and MI-35 helicopter orders stuck in Ukraine. The Ukrainian order has been slow due to the conflict in the Donbass region.

All in all, we have a significant order for helicopters for our Airforce.

#to hell with back stabbing uncle sam.

Many of you are very funny. Majority of don't know about things mllitary . the mi-35 are noise makers you don't need to be told they are around by the noise it makes you will know. What we actually need are fast attack helicopters and light attack airplanes these can be customized turbo pops or light jets like the new scorpion. The turbo pops also double as recon and surveillance aircraft and the cost less. This mi-35 are meant to be secondary attack helicopters be cause they can carry few fighting or special forces unit. The basic reason why we have not defeated book haram is because we have not gotten the air component of the whole strategy right. It is the air plan and attack before the army and then the air component again. Instead we have been doing the army first and the AIRFORCE latter or as an after thought. Have we learn anything from US lead offensive against ISIS.

After all the disappointments, I really hope this new acquisition would make a difference.

So many things are happening in that battlefield that just cant be explained rationally. I am not a pessimist, but I am only hoping that this works.

Maybe the action of this machine would give nigerians some respite, given that we have lost too many souls, especially the lives of our soldiers to this battle.

Ride on Nigerian Army. Outside God,you are our last hope!
