ArienRic: Don't see this post as an effort to discourage you but before deciding your major, you really have to think about the following 1. what are my career prospects for this major? 2. Would I need to relocate to fulfil my career prospects (Nigeria is not a the best place to build a career in astrophysics) 3. would my major allow me to change industries in the nearest future? and so on. The reason many people major in Telecoms, Electronics and Power is because of the questions above. And to the best of my knowledge, I don't think there's any school in Nigeria that offers a major in astrophysics (I may be wrong tho). So answer these questions HONESTLY before deciding on what to major in. Regards.... 1 Like |

@Tanimola. I have a younger brother who has just finished from Yabatech and he studied Physic with Electronics, he really want to pursue is PGD and possibly Masters in Same Field. How can he go about it. I really want the best for him. Kindly advice |

holla greatest physicists both practicin nd aspiring i'm a graduate of physics from Ahmadu Bello University Zaria and i'm pretty much overwhelmed that this thread exists... hopin to go for a masters in Either Physics with electronics /Telecom, i'd be glad if someone would recommend the best institutions within the country that offers both... thank you in Advance And Happi New Year Physicists hopin we all tunnel into 2015 in good health that No potential barrier set by satan would retard our succes in the new year... charlieboy93:Scholarship programs come in different packages but i think you could make inquiries from your department there in imo coz they are often haf upto date info about such nd better stil u could search online specifying what you really want.... not forqettin the fact that for u to secure a perfect scholarship package u should be graduating with nothing less than 3.50 and in some cases 4.00 i think the decision about an M.sc program to go for could only be made by you abi na person wan help you do the all-day/all-night studyin ni .  |

@babatawa, hope mamatawa is a physicist too?  You may be the next Currie in waiting oI think FUTA is good in Physics. I didnt study there but I know many who did and are very good physicists; FUTO is also good too. You can check FUTMINNA, but I am not sure about their pedigree, compared to the previous two. What about postgrad study in Telecoms in ABU? I read in Newspaper in 2013 that Etisalat wanted to partner with them in building that area in the university. 1 Like |
