Rumours suggesting that Buhari does not have the requisite qualifications to contest can easily be dismissed as sheer desperation on the part of PDP in a bid to win a contest they appear to be losing. However, the very unconvincing responses APC supporters bring forward as defenses against these rumours leaves one in doubt. Many people actually agree that Buhari and Tinubu are strange bedfellows. So IF it is true that Buhari has no qualifications, then I believe Tinubu is indeed a smart politician who knew this before hand. Here are my reasons:
1. He has utilized the media as a veritable tool for making the current administration seem like the worst in Nigeria's history, and has been reasonably successful in this endeavour.
2. Riding on Buhari's perceived integrity, he as been able to sway the opinion of a good number of the frustrated masses in favour of APC; and Buhari has also come out to give Osibanjo some level of credibility by describing him as a man of impeccable character.
3. Disqualification of Buhari on legal grounds will be greatly politicized. Given that many Nigerians are illogical and frustrated, this will even further sway public opinion in favour of APC and paint the Jonathan as someone who has made the elections a do or die affair. So any other person APC chooses to present may be seen as an acceptable alternative to Jonathan.

In view of the above, Tinubu may just have found a way to control the post-May 29 presidency, by installing Osibanjo, who is seen by many as his (Tinubu's) stooge, as the APC presidential candidate. But then again, all this is only possible if it is true Buhari doesn't have the requisite qualifications.

1. Do you mean the military is in possession of original credentials of all officers both retired and serving?

2. If the answer to the first question is yes, even after retirement, would the officer not take possession of his certificates?

3. Do you know that in the past, admission/recruitment into military was not based on good academic records but interest as many didn't like joining the military?

4. If GEJ has instructed the military not to release the certificates as you alleged, don't you think other powerful retired generals in the country would speak up and GEJ would be exposed?

5. Do you know that the northerners were given special waiver in terms of qualifications for admission into the Nigerian military in those days and how do you know Buhari was not a beneficiary of that?

6. Do you want INEC to stop the verification exercise because of Buhari which connotes sacrificing legality / due process on the altar of interest?

I'm patiently waiting for answers.
