If those Choppers were upgraded in Ukraine then I believe it must have been with direct help or Cooperation with A.T.E. "Azerbaijan plans on upgrading its Mi-24, at the
Konotor Aviacon plant with the participation of South
African firms, as was stated by a Ukrainian source. Ukraine has
also showed some interest in cooperating with South Africa for
the modernization of its fleet."

Stop wasting your time Southies, NAF Mi-35 Super Hind upgrade done in Ukraine shocked shocked

Nigeria gets from Ukraine Mi-24 helicopters :

"Following the purchase of T-72AV and BTR-4E from the Ukraine in 2014, Nigeria, apparently acquires former Ukrainian Mi-24 combat helicopters.

Nigerian web resource beegeagle. 2 January 2015 published a picture of the two Nigeria Air Force modernization Super Hind Mk III -Mi-24 combat helicopters.

Serial works on modernization of the Mi-24 Super Hind options are carried out on contract by the Ukrainian State Enterprise “Konotop Aircraft Repair Plant” Aviacon “(Konotop, Sumy region). In 1999-2004, Konotop factory for the Algerian Air Force, upgraded 33 former Ukrainian Mi-24V to the Super Hind Mk III version, and in 2010-2011 – for the Azerbaijani Air Force 12 former Ukrainian Mi-24K to the Super Hind Mk IV (upgraded Azerbaijani helicopters received the designation Mi-24G).

Two Mi-24 passing upgrading to Super Hind version , were seen in the factory floor of “Aviacon” Ukraine on October 16, 2014"

I have always said it for the past two years on this blog, that Nigeria has a defense pact with Ukraine for any emergency weapons supply.

Watch out for Nigerian army T-84 Oplot-M tanks and more BTR-4E different versions, info says we ordered one battalion of BTR-4E
.
"agaugust You Disgusting Fraudster" that paragraph you quoted is from beegeagle-blog and not from the Livejournal link you posted, you posted an opinion piece and passed it off as something else, that Livejournal Article is not even in English. You took a paragraph from Beegeagle that supported your argument and posted a completely different link as your source. Well then here another Paragraph from Beegeagle you failed to mention. "As the thread title conveyed in its precise wording, the Super Hind upgrades were undertaken by ‘a South African firm’. It does not follow that the upgradation took place in South Africa.

What is almost certain is that vendor probably have a twinning arrangement with ATE of South Africa whereby their upgrade packages are jointly marketed while *the work gets done by ATE personnel*, be those internationals or locals. Ukraine is a busier arms market than South Africa is."

. . .Plus that Livejournal Article makes a lot of reference to A.T.E, Paramount and South African Weapon systems they even use the A.T.E brochure to describe the features of the new Aircraft, which means it is South African tech installed by a South African company in a Foreign Country. Lol Soon Nigeria will probably be buying Ingwe Missiles directly from S.A or through Ukraine.

No official proof Ukraine has joint venture with South Africa, where is your official contract source for the info?

You say Nigeria will probably buy Ingwe missile from South Africa, what official procurement source ?

Nigeria has 10 Russian Mi-35 that use cheaper Russian missiles, so why should Nigeria buy more expensive South African missiles for 2 Ukranian Hinds? Nigeria and South Africa already have an arms trade dispute of $15 million, so why should we leave Russia that has offered us $1 Billion credit line for weapons and come to a fraudulent South Africa for missiles?

Back to your foolish allegation, I got the weblink from Beegeagle, but the source/story is Ukranian and your poor South African thinking did not tell you that lap tops have automatic translator to give me the story in English from Ukranian language.

Boko Haram seizes army base in northeast Nigeria
about 11 hours ago / Reuters
100
MAIDUGURI, Nigeria – Islamist militants have overrun an army base in the remote northeast Nigerian town of Baga, two security sources said on Sunday.

Baga is notionally the headquarters of a multinational force comprising troops from Niger, Nigeria, Chad and Cameroon, although only Nigerian troops are actually stationed there.

Troops eventually fled the remote station on the semi-desert shores of Lake Chad after it was attacked on Saturday by Boko Haram fighters in military vehicles, both sources said. The military did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

The insurgency has killed over 10,000 people this year, according to a count by the Council on Foreign Relations in November.

It is the gravest threat to Nigeria, Africa’s biggest economy, and a headache for President Goodluck Jonathan ahead of an election on 14 February where he is being challenged by opposition leader Muhammadu Buhari, a former military ruler seen as tough on security.

After beginning their fight for an Islamic state five years ago in the northeastern city of Maiduguri, the militants have radiated outwards into porous border areas, threatening Nigeria’s neighbours around the Lake Chad Basin.

In northern Cameroon, at least 15 people died in an attack by suspected Boko Haram militants on a bus, officials said on Saturday.

Cameroon's army has been trying to dislodge the Islamists from its Far North region with the help of air strikes.

Nigerian Interior Minister Hassoumi Massaoudou said late last month that his country was ready to negotiate with Boko Haram, but did not even know who in the group to talk to.

Baga came into the international spotlight early in 2013, when dozens of people, mostly civilians, were killed in fighting between the multinational force and Boko Haram. Many were burned alive in their thatched houses.

The militants have also kidnapped hundreds of mostly young people in the past year. On Wednesday, gunmen abducted 40 boys and young men from the remote village of Malari, in a raid that residents and a security source blamed on Boko Haram.

The parents of 200 Nigerian schoolgirls kidnapped by Boko Haram in April have said they said will ask the United Nations for help after losing faith in their own government.

Boko Haram seizes Nigerian army base
Last updated: 9 hours ago
Scores of troops killed in raid by fighters using military vehicles in Baga after about 40 young males were kidnapped.

Boko Haram fighters have overrun an army base in the remote northeast Nigerian town of Baga, killing scores of soldiers in the attack, security sources have said.

Baga is known for hosting the headquarters of a multinational force comprising troops from Niger, Nigeria, Chad and Cameroon, although only Nigerian troops are actually stationed there.

Troops eventually fled the remote station on the semi-desert shores of Lake Chad after it was attacked on Saturday by Boko Haram fighters using military vehicles, two sources said.

Earlier on Friday, suspected members of the armed group raided the northeast village of Malari, kindapping about 40 boys and young men.

The fighters came to the remote village of Malari and urged people to come out and listen to a sermon, farmer Bulama Malam told reporters on Saturday.

"After telling us that they wanted to preach to us, they began to select young men aged between 12 and 25,'' Malam said. "I was lucky to escape because they only selected very young and able-bodied men."

He spoke in Maiduguri, the capital of northeast Borno state, to which he escaped on foot.

Nigeria''s longstanding conflict with Boko Haram has killed over 10,000 people this year, according to a count by the Council on Foreign Relations in November.

Neighbouring countries threatened

It is the gravest threat to Nigeria, Africa's biggest economy, and a headache for President Goodluck Jonathan ahead of an election on Feb. 14 where he is being challenged by opposition leader Muhammadu Buhari, a former military ruler seen as tough on security.

"The soldiers were trying to repel the attack but that wasn't going to happen because a lot of the soldiers were without their guns and some were running into the town. When you see soldiers running away into the town - what are you to do, other than to just run away as well?"
Maina Maaji Lawan, senator for Borno North, told BBC World Service civilians had run "helter skelter" - "some into the forest, some into the desert".
Communications with the town were cut off and exact information about casualty numbers could not be confirmed, he said.
"We are very dispirited," the senator added.
Confirming that the military had abandoned the base, he said people's frustration knew "no bounds" over the apparent fact that the military had not fought back.
"There is definitely something wrong that makes our military abandon their posts each time there is an attack from Boko Haram," the senator said.

Nope, BTR-4 has ground clearance to save it from IED. It's not an MRAP, but 1kg TNT will fail against a BTR-4 due to armour underneath.

Bager IFV has NO combat experience, it was Poland's Rosomak version of Patria IFV and it was extra armoured Rosomak also shielded with cage protection.

Badger is NOT Rosomak, use your head man ! Bad-ger Bad IFV armour is only bullet resistant, NOT RPG resistant , fact !

True, Badger is not Rosomak because the Badger has thicker armor as its not amphibious
