if u want to create a whatsapp group, fine. But not in the name of nairaland.

Why are we even arguing about this? Creating a whatsapp group for live match announcement is good and the same time bad and the bad side outweighs the good in the following reasons :
1. It's is good because you can get alert on the go but imagine the number of post you will get daily and how much battery it will consume, for me that's a downside.
2. It will render this site unimportant to many members which I think the admin and moderator will not find funny.
3. There are people who don't have whatsapp on their phone or whose phone can't use whatsapp. Creating a whatsapp group won't be helpful to them either.
4. Creating a whatsapp group will violent the privacy policy of members.
5. Guest won't have access to the group like they do here before registering to become a member.

Therefore having exhaust all avenue to weigh the reasons and benefits which are stated above I hereby propose that the idea of whatsapp group creation be dropped with immediate effect.

Whatsapp to be or not to be ?.
As much as I love n welcome this idea, the backlash effect is what I fear.
There are times my andriod phone wunt just connect to the web, plus my battery drains quickly and I cant update live matches, n my keypad lock,wunt allow me sign in on my nokia into nairaland,its affects my full commitment to this thread.
A whatsapp group could take care of that ONLY IF THE UPDATES FROM THE GROUP IS SHARED HERE,almost immediately.

2. Do we all remember nairaland hack 2014?, data was lost and there was no "alternative" to nl fta football update, it was hell.
The whatsapp group can aswell take care of that......

NOTE : As good as the whatsapp group may sound, if it jeopardises the efficacy and effective existence of this thread, then its not worth it.......
