Actually,it is something of a myth to say our leaders past did nothing. They actually did a lot. The problem was....that they did not get us out of the resource trap. They thrived on the idea that we could sell our raw materials and use the money to build things.

The problem with that idea is that prices of resources are hardly stable...and once they drop....the money isn't enough to sustain imports,and the development drops.

In my opinion.....whoever wins in 2015...has to get us out of the resource trap and onto industrial development via investment in technical and scientific education....and by building up supportive infrastructure....and by using our resources to fire up our industries.And by ending corruption.
