It will soon be a thing of the past as unemployment has led most students into pursuing higher qualifications. Ph.D go soon turn pure water, I bet it. 9 Likes 2 Shares |

The lecturers are impacting on the students, the same knowledge they acquired from their lectures, whom in turn acquired theirs from their great grand lecturer... In other wordz;we still learning same thing Awolowo,Azikiwe & Tafawa learnt during the 60's...Nigeria as a nation isn't moving a muscle forward, neither are they reversing backward. We stagnant like a sewage water. 14 Likes |

yeap, OP seems only the Private Universities is the focus here and not universities in general. BTW, everybody is going into politics, when you look at the amount house of reps members and other politicians are paid and compare them with the average lecturer's salary, who go wan go teach?? If minimum salary comes up, the problem would be fixed |

Off course we knew that's the reason they produce unemployable graduates, yet they keep the agitation for more pay consistent. Making noise up and down, benefitting for only some jobless groups. |

Of course. We know. And we know you (NUC) know. It is no more news. It will get worse if nothing is done. So what is the Ministry of Education and/or NUC going to do about it? Absolutely NOTHING!!! As usual. However, the lecturers have quality or are qualified in: -Sexual harassment -Unnecessarily and intentionally making students fail -Sales of substandard materials as handouts -Writing and publishing of substandard books -Student victimization on flimsy matters -Poor teaching/lecturing and communication skills (both written and oral) -Laziness -Poor research skills -Abandoning academics for consulting while students wait for lectures that do not hold or hold few weeks to the exams -Sale of scores and marks (''Sorting'') -Hostility to new ideas/corrections from students - etc. While the Government is qualified in: -Not maintaining infrastructure in schools -Poor remuneration -Breach of agreements with ASUU and strikes -Poor funding of education -Lack of encouragement of scholarship -Leading by bad example-sending all their children overseas to study -Doing nothing to check the brain drain in the country -Not properly regulating employment/engagement of academic staff in Universities -etc. 7 Likes |
