LANS all over the place Ospina (barely played all season) Walcott (virtually hasn't played since last January) Ozil (over 3 months out) Ramsey Arteta Heck even Rozzi is LANS since he's played only like 5 games all season. Other candidates - Campbell, Akpom, and the best LANS of all: Abou Vassiriki Diaby. |

What was Szczesny thinking? Smoking in the shower after the Southampton game? I'ld like to see if he'll be in goal on Sunday |

He probably will. . . I expect Wenger to field him with a reaction in mind to all the stories about him this week. If he fluffs his lines though, a fit Ospina breathing down his neck is exactly what we need. I'll hopefully be at the Emirates on Sunday so I can give reports on his general performance and attitude beyond what y'all see on TV. |

The guy sure needs to be benched. I'm a fan of his but his attitude sometimes cannot be defended. I hope Ospina stays fit though. Give us live updates and pictures from the |

Spy360: Speak for yourself o bros, the talent and skill of all those mentioned were never in doubt, maybe Ramsey sha who many fans had doubt about after that horrid Ryan Shawcross tackle. Fabregas was a beloved from day one, I will never forget his first match, 2004 community shield against Man United! Damn!!! Nucca was pure class. RVP, I don't believe anyone questioned his ability even if he spent 7 years as a crocked striker. As for Henry, where do i even begin sef?! 1 Like |

It isn't an issue of whther one has eye for young players or not. I have been talking about the same Coquelin Spy360 is raving about since I saw him in the youth team years ago. The difference however is that the players you mentioned (maybe asides Ramsey) RVP, Henry, Fabregas, etc joined a very strong Arsenal team which made it easy for fans to accommodate them. There was a time RVP couldn't do anything good with his right leg. But in that same team we had Henry, Wiltord, Bergkamp; Even Henry didn't score in his first few games for us but we had Bergkamp, Kanu. Bergkamp, Suker who mre than covered for his failings in those few games. More improtantly, we were a top side then not like now that we are scraping for pieces left behind by teams like Chelsea and City. Today we have Arteta and Flamini, two players many fans don't even want to see in the first team. You can understand why fans won't tolerate Coquelin. He's definitely not yet ready for first team action and still needs to learn from experienced players. IMO his main challenge has been the fact that he has no played consistently in a particular position. In France, he played right back and sometimes in midfield. In Germany, he had the same problem and didn't even play often. But in the five games he played at Charlton last year, he played in that role in front of the back four which for me is his best position. He needs to play there consistently and I will like him to go on loan to a PL/Championship side where he will get experience playing as a DM. Sadly, we don't have the luxury of gifting him that 'internship' at Arsenal. |

Spy360: This my friend is a very fallacious statement, there is no ardent Arsenal fan who has religiously followed this club from the mid 90's till today and has watched the array of young talent that has come through the crest would claim not to have an eye for burgeoning player or talent, that my friend is a big lie. Posts above me, I believe have justified why your recent hype and rave of Coquelin is unsettling in the current season. |

Re: Coquelin alias Oliva de Coque, I did not claim the above player is now a star. I said that from what I have seen so far, he is better than the likes of Flamini and Arteta in that DM role. I took note of his movement, positioning, tackles, awareness, game reading, stamina, and card affinity (lol), etc. With time guys, we have another Alex Song Billong. |

An0nimus: Like A New Signing,LANS. A term the prof of failure use to describe his players that just returned from injury spell, and subsequently use as an excuse not to sign New players, since the now injury free players are Like A New Signing, aka LANS. Welcome to the heartbreaking world of Arsenal fans. *grins* |

naijababe: Based on individual capacity, most of our players won't see Mourinho's bench except for Sanchez and Ozil, Walcot on his day may feature. We are what we are because of the technical know-how of Arsene Wenger. For instance, the likes of Czech, Ramires, Schurle, Salah, Remy etc neva see ball play abi na Coquelin alias Oliva de Coque or abi na Adamma Giroud na him you wan give Mou? Hahahahaaaa! The guy go laf change club shaperly. |

The guy go laf change club shaperly. If Mou or van Gaal coach Arsenal, we go relegate. And that's a fact. Van Gaal couldn't even use Welbeck. He had to go for Falcao. When he was without his new signings eg Blind, Herrera, Di Maria, Falcao etc Man Utd were just above the relegation zone. Wenger try abeg, make una talk true. If he had his former boys eg Nasri, van Persie, Fabregas, Song, Clichy, etc he would have gone unbeaten again like he did in 2004 with Vieira, Pires, Henry, Bergkamp etc. But he had to sell to pay for the Emirates. |

Spy360: Are u serious, the bolded players you mentioned were part of the team that capitulated after that famous Birmingham 2-2 game, where we went from the top of the league to just about finishing 3rd abi na 4th. Fact is we need CLASS players in DM and a central defender for us to even think of Europe, not sure why Carvalho or Schniedelin have not been made offers. We'll dull on both ends and have to watch better teams buy them without too much pricing |
Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: Finally Reborn! The Red & White Army: FA CUP Champions 2020 by Nobody: 11:44am On Jan 09, 2015 |
So we can all agree that what we've always needed was that key signing. Why wouldn't he do it then? Even now, I am happy enough with the team if only he'd sign a proven CB and DM. Enough of the experiments and conversions, football has evolved beyond that. We are in ice-age and nucca still thinks as a dinosaur he'd walk the land forever. I cannot wait for the man to waka abeg! |

I hope to see LANS Ozil play in the flesh for the first time on Sunday. Imagine a fit Ozil and fit Walcott and Sanchez in full flow. Getting ahead of myself of course - Stoke will wear their extra spiky boots and elbow pads on Sunday to give Per and co a hard time. |

Better win today, man city game guaranteed loss. With the number of teams around arsenal struggling for fourth, e be like say name this season arsene no go get fourphy. Previous years it usually turn out to be a 1v1 challenge but this year even Liverpool with all their failings is 1 point behind arsenal. So Southampton, Tottenham, Liverpool all in with a shout for now. By game 30 if it remains so........ Na Europa niyen o |
