Hello e-fam,
I am currently processing an application to study in Humber College, I intend using a friends company as my sponsor but my concern is, I am gainfully employed in another organization. If I have to go by my own salary account, I doubt if they would give me VISA because immediately my salary is paid I withdraw the money to take care of my needs.

My question is, if I should submit my friend's SOA, won't they ask question in respect of that?

Hello Valeriann,

Who says you compulsorily need a study leave letter? While it is good to include that letter as it will serve as a proof of ties in home country, it is not compulsory or cast-in-stone. An employment letter, confirmation letter, payslips are very good alternatives. If you have the letter, go for it. If not, don't stress it.

All the best.

Hello House,
I got an admission with lambton college for instrumentation and control engineering,
I can't seem to wrap my head around why I need a study leave letter(2yrs)from my company(huawei technologies), I honestly feel is ' laughable' cuz NO company gives such leave. Please house is this letter compulsory? Kindly advise...Brilliant house!

Firstly, well u can use your friend as a sponsor as long as u can prove y he's sponsoring you.

Secondly, it doesn't matter if u pull out ur money after ur salary is been paid. What matter is your ability to show that u have enough financial support and u can as well support yourself.

Thirdly, I always advice that applicants shld submit their SOA in addition to the sponsor's SOA, if ure using your account.......u can just get a fund anywhere and put it in ur account ,print off your statement...just to show u also have personal support.

Hello,

In addition to what Jaylinaa said, if u can't get a letter from ur coy for job security reasons, u can use your employment letter and ur recent pay slips. To buttress ur point u have to clarify in ur letter of intent that after ur studies u intend to return back to ur job even though you're not sincere/may not return...lol....

That's enough to show ties with ur home country.

In my opinion, avoid all the drama at work by people knowing your plans et all.....(God forbid what if the visa was granted for ones enemy?) woollaaa ur company already knows your plan et all hence they too may now play funny.

In my opinion if you can get it without any ish....why not but it is not COMPULSORY.....ur employement letter, promotion letter, salary review letter, payslip etc will do....in my case i am using my redeployement letter, salary review and re-designation letter as i can not find my employment letter of about 9 years ago...gat no idea where it is....

For those who have applied using the online process: after one submits the application online, can one go to the VAC at any time (that day, next day or any day) to submit passport and biometrics or will you be given a date when you must come?

Please, I need this info to plan properly for a day-off from work and I have been unable to find a precise answer on the CIC website. Thanks.

P.S.: I'll appreciate if you can also elaborate on what that day will look like in terms of how many hours it could take, how early I should arrive, etc.

Hello Buccattee,

U can invite your spouse as soon as you're stable and cld show u and your spouse have sufficient funds for support. No specific time frame.

Buccattee:
Hello Guys, Please After Landing in Canada on a study permit visa, how soon can someone invite his /her spouse for a visit? Someone said at least after spending first 6 months in Canada. I don't know how true that is

Re: Travelling To Canada Part 7 by saintmentor: 12:21pm On Jan 10, 2015
Hello Estien,

Firstly, I wld say where he resides and his age is not a sensitive factor.

Secondly, to come up with a strong argument when using ur friend as a sponsor,

You shld See yourself as the visa officer.
Ask y your friend is sponsoring u(y wld a friend spend so much on u?).
Show proof of strong ties or relationship with ur friend.

Examples.
uve been of help to him when he's needy(paying back)
Your family has been of help to him in time past(He has lived with u guys).
Or you both wanna setup a company together in future and he's sponsoring u to equip you with the necessary knowledge.

U can add pictures u both featured etc.

Your friend shld write u a letter of support as well explaining y he's sponsoring you(whatever reasons u agreed on) your stories must tally.

Thanks for your reply.

I believe age and location shouldn't be a problem but my concern is providing evidence Of or relationship. We haven't taken any pictures together before. Can written words be a tangible evidence of relationship or perhaps a sworn affidavit... I am just clueless about this.

Thanks again

Then, you threading a dangerous path cos cushioning account is not something to be done hurriedly bur systematically so it wont be obvious and at the same time, delay in applying could be dangerous cos they need time to issue

Pls paper routers, do we have to fill the study permit questionnaire? Its not on the official CIC page. Moreover I have a well-detailed SOP already. Is the questionnaire a must ?
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 7 by saintmentor: 2:34pm On Jan 10, 2015
Like I said earlier, let him write a letter of support stating y he's sponsoring you. U guys shld agree on what to write as reasons for sponsoring u. You too CLd put up few write ups in your letter of intent buttressing y he's sponsoring u.

U just have to use whatever u have, words , facts or figures to convince d VO.

Submit whatever u can submit to support ur app.
