Abi. We need to move from being a commodities economy to a service one. We can't continue this servitude of providing raw materials for other economies to thrive on, and importing their processed finished products. We can create a value chain here in Nigeria instead of feeding the white mans value chain for dollars.

Some of the comments here make me wonder the average age and exposure of the respondents. yes it would be nice to have agriculture back as Nigeria's highest earner of export proceeds, but it is a long journey and you need heavy investment to achieve it e.g.
- More fertilizer plants
- setting up marketing boards to protect farmers from shocks
- training up extension workers to train the farmers on newer improved farming methods etc.
-Establishment of processing facilities to ensure farm losses are minimized.

Trust me it will require over 6-8 years to get Nigeria back to an agro based country.

The sad bit is we are hoping Buhari can do all this, meanwhile even the little i have articulated here is several times more detailed than any blueprint he has shared with us.

GMB please share your blueprint otherwise all you are making are wishful statements and empty promises.

I dont know how we are expected to support a man who cannot articulate how he wants to achieve change. More scary is that fact that his campaign team has so many intelligent people, why is it so difficult to articulate a blueprint?

People please note! Leadership of a Nation is too important to be gambled with!! It is better to stick with a good development plan slowly implemented, than to rush into a change vehicle that has no articulated plans.

The oil supposed to be blessings, successive govt turned it to a curse.
Other oil producing nations with foresight knew oil prospects can not be forever, they used money from oil to develop other sectors like agric and tourism, but our leaders used our for personal aggrandizements and frivolities. Important liquefied natural gas project LNG was neglected by Shagari regime for development of Abuja, as a result of which gas flaring continued till date.
They have wasted almost a decade of Nigeria existence.

i believe this administration is trying as regards agriculture, more should be put in place to divert our main source of income from oil to the sector

That is where our government failed,before the advent of oil,huge revenue were made through groundnuts, Coaco and rubber.But when oil was discovered,they all forgot our sources and continue dwelling in oil revenue. Now we are in a big mess due to huge reduction in oil price at the international market.My advice to the government of GMB is to focus more on Groundnut as an alternative to oil so as to be the real good people with great nation.

This is why I said Buhari and his supporters are an Army of Mor0ns. Did you just say Buhari should focus on Groundnut as alternative to oil ? Dont just edit this post oh.
