HE GOT APPOINTMENT LETTERS WITH GTB,ZENITH,ECO, AND MANY ORGANISATIONS- NAME THEM, BUT HE LATER REJECTED THEM COS HE WANTED TO WORK IN A FIELD NOT AN OFFICE. LOST OVER ONE YEAR AT HOME WHILE WAITING FOR DREAM JOB AND GOD ANSWERED HIM WITH SCHLUMBERGER ONE. RESIGNED RECENTLY AFTER 8 YEARS THERE. NOW WITH TOTAL IN ASIAN COUNTRY. NEVER SETTLE FOR LESS BRO. Well, what I know is dat Segun attended several seminars, workshops, competitions, etc while in schl. So he got to knw people well. So I guess dat's one of d reasons he got d award. D op jst used 'OAU'. It is not an award for OAU. He wasn't d overall best graduating student. Not even d best graduating student in d department for d session. Wen u work hard, u shud also ve a focus and a 'drive' to make sure ur hard work doesn't go unrewarded.
So for clarity sake, I dnt think d award was an "OAU slot".

U're right! even it's 5G connection, Many first class out there and nothing heard about them, so what procedures and resonance indulge in that to have award him such award publicly? still thinking of it!

Generally education should be encouraged by all Nigerians. In Nigeria now mathematics completion winner will get 100k + maybe laptop and Project A and most musical or entertainment competition winner will get like 1million with cars etc. The gap is becoming something to worry about how we embrace education in Nigeria. Hard and smart work pays

I love seeing stuff like this. People who achieve being rewarded and recognised.

However, I hope the guy will not be lulled into getting stuck in stuffy 9-5 bank job. He has far more potential than that. If the bank will not set him on a rapid Executive Development Programme and accelerate career path, he should leave and go overseas to pick up higher degrees, and chart a path for himself from there.

Rubbish! Any 1st Class graduate Engineering would get scholarship for Msc in the US or Europe. And to cap it , Heritage Bank? Like how much salary? By the time the pressure starts, nobody would tell him to find his way out. Why waste talent?

This boy papa na professor for my dept in OAU, professor Z.F. Famisa, I'm sure any graduate of Geography can testify. The man is well connected in the senate, both at the school and federal republic, though now retired but this shows he's still relevant plus this guys was a small boy then, I've met him in his dad office many time. Days of submitting assignment individually and defend it on the spot... How time flies.
