You are so right OP. I got married in Jos in Dece 2010. The weather was beautiful as it was chilling. I noticed all you said and much more.

You wash your hand with warm water when you are about to eat any foood with your hand.

Most homes serve hot tea and coffee when they have visitors.

They have fire pots in pubs and clubs.

My host even had a small electric heater that looks like a box fan.

When you rub your dry palm against a dry textile, you will notice flashes of sparks.

Door knobs and bulglary proofs have low charges.

Am surprised it's that cold 4 u guys 4 temperatures just above 10 °C.

Zonacom:

Its actually Pankshin. Some kilometres away from jos capital. The cold in pankshin is just too much. You hardly see people outside before 8 am in the morning. The amazing thing is that you can even see the cold in motion. Sometimes distant visibility is even hampered by fog or whatever. But this kind of cold is only experienced between December and January.
Stories have it that some youth corpers posted there lost their lives in the 80s

Thanks for the correction captain

But that's the point. U just made my point 4 me. The people in Canada that froze to death did so cos temperature fell to under -15 °C, now that I can understand. But in jos where the coldest temp is normally above 10 °C, I find it hard to stomach but then again it's ur opinion.
It's not just my opinion , people actually froze to death/ were killed by cold after bathing with cold water. Can't you see other posters attesting to it? by the way the coldest temperature here is not above 10°C , if it were, we would be much happier

I do not live in jos actually but close to jos (Saminaka).I live in a place where the chilly breeze knocks on doors and windows.
Move out without good coverings, you are doomed.
I still manage to be at work as early as 7am dressed like an Eskimo.

The first and the last time i was in Jos for a conference some years back, i fetched water from the tap and left it on the table, i went out to buy something, i got back like 30mins later and was damn shocked to see layers of ice block forming on the surface of the water in the cup! I shouted, Jesus! What is this?!

Regardless of weather in portharcourt, you can't compre it to Minnesota or Alaska or even Chicago. Una never see snow , you guys are brushing with hot water cheesy. Checking jos weather with accuweather app, it's just 22 degree and the low is just 20 degree. So stop exaggerating. I see horrible dressing on top common 20* harmattan, it's really hilarious cheesy

Come, take your bath with ordinary or cold water since you're allergic to hot water and let's see if you will remain the same again.

Stop exaggerating. I served in Plateau State (Barkin Ladi) and we had the orientation camp in Zaria road (2000/2001) I bathed with cold water on several occasions (4am in the morning) and nothing do me. Plateau State in actually warmer compared to then (Went there 4 years ago).
Re: Crazy Things People Do During Harmattan Season In Jos by hermesprogidy(m): 3:42pm On Jan 12, 2015
Pankshin is colder than Bassa. Jos is actually one of the warmest places in Plateau.
