pickabeau1: Please show me the defending Yaya does when Fernando and Fernandinho were bought to do the dirty work for him. I thought you knew better. No DM since Vieira eh? What next? No CB since Campbell? No winger since Pires? Wake up! |
Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: Finally Reborn! The Red & White Army: FA CUP Champions 2020 by pickabeau1: 9:55pm On Jan 16, 2015 |
debosky: Yaya used to seat in the early days before Fernando n dinho Remember when they used to bring Barry in to let him rove forward He also used to seat in Barca Who r the DMs...that Arsenal have had Quality ones Denilson? . Puhleeze.. I'm awake....can I say the same..? |
Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: Finally Reborn! The Red & White Army: FA CUP Champions 2020 by pazienza(m): 10:07pm On Jan 16, 2015 |
debosky: Midway through last season, it was obvious that Chelsea and Mourinho needed a world class striker, a dependable DM,and a creative midfielder. There was equally a little case of looking for a quality understudy for Azpilicueta who had displaced Ashley cole in the first team. What did mourinho do? He brought in Matic, Fabregas,Costa and Felipe luiz, no penny pinching, just direct business. What is the result? Chelsea tops the EPL. This is how ambitious managers think. Arsenal was a world class striker,DM and central defender short of winning the EPL, What did wenger do? Bought a rookie tennager, Chambers, bought Welbeck, and brought in no replacement for Vermaelen. Result: Arsenal would still finish 4th,exactly where we were before the arrival of Ozil and Sanchez. So where is the improvement? |

pazienza: you nailed it I also believe that arsenal would come 4th behind united But this southampton team looks like they will not fizzle If they weather this storm of injuries against Newcastle, Swansea and QPR.. then u have to really really start watching them for no 4 Can you imagine this same wenger was offered wanyama 2 Likes |

Sanchez was only bought because he became available, following Suarez arrival to Barca. If Sanchez was well settled at Barca and he was what we needed,do you see Wenger breaking bank to bring him? Look at Benatia, Dante declined in form and totally capitulated at Brazil 2014, Bayern knew they needed a new world class defender, they(Guardiola and Bayern) identified Benatia, twisted Roma's hand, paid what ever it cost and bought him. Same with Lewandowski. That's how serious clubs with ambitious managers work. 1 Like |

pickabeau1: Arsenal would still finish 4th. Wenger would always guarantee that. His 8milla job is on the line, like a true parasite,he would deliver that 4th place to stay with the host Arsenal FC. Last time he was pushed to the brink by Everton, yet he survived. Nothing can separate Wenger from his precious 4th place. *grins* Why should Wenger buy Wanyama, when Flamini the world best DM was free for transfer? *grins* |

pickabeau1:And who are ya? Kitaun or Slimshay Spy360 ain't even close to duduspace. Spy360 is like an anti-virus mopping attacks/threats against Monsieur Wenger! By the way, Viera was a Back-2-Back CM!! I don't know how you got away with that on here. |
Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: Finally Reborn! The Red & White Army: FA CUP Champions 2020 by pickabeau1: 2:24pm On Jan 17, 2015 |
kashmo: LOL.... Yes strictly..that role was defined by his compatriot.. Makalele The point was that pato drove forward thru the middle n also helped with shielding the back four I also said the closest to him was yaya However that is not even the point Arsene relied on power of pato, guile of Dennis and pace of Henry with a solid English back 4 That is Chelsea today What is arsene doing now Impotent piss pass footie |
Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: Finally Reborn! The Red & White Army: FA CUP Champions 2020 by kashmo: 2:48pm On Jan 17, 2015 |
pickabeau1:You know, had Diaby kept fit over the years he would have been Viera's direct replacement. If you look in the market there's only one player I can think of which is Pogba. He's not as tenacious as Viera was, and he not a great tackler, either. One thing for sure is, Arsenal needs another Gilberto in his prime. |
Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: Finally Reborn! The Red & White Army: FA CUP Champions 2020 by pickabeau1: 2:54pm On Jan 17, 2015 |
kashmo: Your last statement is exactly what i expected from.the wengerphiles Not a statement of his tactical genius or whether Hazard is like Costa Anyway he bought a 17 year old DM Polish starlet Keys ten Another gem... |
Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: Finally Reborn! The Red & White Army: FA CUP Champions 2020 by kashmo: 3:07pm On Jan 17, 2015 |
pickabeau1: Haha! But Spy360 thinks Wenger is a tactical genius, though. Expect FM lessons on this board to justify Wenger's ineptness. I heard that Kid is tall, ready to battle it out with his cousin (Matic) on the pitch Seriously though, I hope he comes good in the next 4yrs. Le Coq is the new sheriff in town for the time being. Arteta and Flamini needs to be shipped out come July 1st! |
Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: Finally Reborn! The Red & White Army: FA CUP Champions 2020 by pickabeau1: 3:12pm On Jan 17, 2015 |
kashmo: Le Coq has been decent for one or two games but is he what arsenal need? Remember he was there for the new year gift to Southampton Now you give a 4 year timeline That means s fourphy ambition continues till year 4 |
Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: Finally Reborn! The Red & White Army: FA CUP Champions 2020 by kashmo: 3:34pm On Jan 17, 2015 |
pickabeau1:Le Coq has been great in all the games he started! Don't pin Szczesny mad moment on him! I'd rather have Le Coq than the brainless French Terrier! He can keep playing till we find a suitable replacement in the summer, hopefully Khedeira from Madrid. Nah, I'd be livid if the new kid picks up playing time in the first team! He should hone his craft playing under 21's and during loan spells. The four year timeline is judging to see if he has the potential to succeed in the first team! |
Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: Finally Reborn! The Red & White Army: FA CUP Champions 2020 by pickabeau1: 3:42pm On Jan 17, 2015 |
kashmo: First statement....a matter of opinion He does not make the club more of a title prospect so there is no issue. Second statement Wenger has said he was bought for the first team |
Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: Finally Reborn! The Red & White Army: FA CUP Champions 2020 by kashmo: 4:15pm On Jan 17, 2015 |
pickabeau1: I've not been keeping tabs with the transfer. If Wenger did utter that rubbish then he's lost it completely. Signing a 'top, top quality' CB should be our number one priority! |

pickabeau1: I guess Gilberto was a centre back or was bought before Vieira. Like I said, wake up! Yaya Toure does not play as a DM now end of story. Who cares what he did in the 'early days'? Kieren Gibbs was a winger when he first made his Emirates Cup appearance so does that make him a winger now? Now you're being exposed you're shifting to 'quality' ones eh? Try harder. |

Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: Finally Reborn! The Red & White Army: FA CUP Champions 2020 by pickabeau1: 7:25pm On Jan 17, 2015 |
ok.. You missed the whole point of the discourse I said yaya is the closest player now to Pato Do you agree or not Moreover you skillfully deflected from the thrust of my comparison with the Invicibles- a team imbued with pace, power and guile You called sanchez for pace Who is the guile Who is the power in this team debosky: |
Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: Finally Reborn! The Red & White Army: FA CUP Champions 2020 by debosky(m): 7:26pm On Jan 17, 2015 |
pazienza: Now you're going to ridiculous lengths to justify your baseless statement. Sanchez became available and so was signed? Before nko? Is it unavailable players that you sign? Were Henry, Bergkamp and Vieira 'well settled' in their clubs before Arsenal bought them? Were we given Sanchez for free or did we pay money for him? You claim Wenger doesn't like to buy expensive players yet he bought Sanchez and you go into a song and dance about 'being available'? Can't you admit your initial statement has no basis in fact?
What is this 'whatever it cost' rubbish? Benatia was sold because Roma needed money - what hand twisting bollocks are you on about? And in what world is Benatia now 'world class'? Arsenal needed a goal keeper and went and signed a highly rated goal keeper that performed well at the world cup - or wait, Ospina was unsettled too. Arsenal needed a RB to replace the excellent Sagna and went in for Debuchy - or wait, Debuchy was injured too and cost nothing even though he was bought for £12m showing Wenger doesn't like to spend. |
Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: Finally Reborn! The Red & White Army: FA CUP Champions 2020 by debosky(m): 7:28pm On Jan 17, 2015 |
pickabeau1: No I disagree - Yaya is lazy defensively and a liability in the DM position hence the need to buy TWO DMs to cover his failings. Yaya is not the closest, neither is he a DM. Na so so revisionism - from no DM has been signed to Vieira, to saying Vieira = Matic, etc. Very soon you go change name again. |

pazienza: Let me just stop you there and point out your bollocks - Chelski were short of 3 players and came second and you're stating Arsenal were also short of just 3 players and came 4th? What are you smoking?
Chelski has squad players (not first team players) like Will.I.Am that cost £30m. How many of those does Arsenal have? Oh, conveniently you've forgotten Courtois also joined back from loan? How much does the Chelski squad cost and how much does the Arsenal squad cost? You're insulting Welbeck eh? How much did Salah cost Chelski? £11m? Or wasn't he bought from your imaginary 'from the middle of last season' timeline? Maybe you expect Arsenal to spend more than it earns in order to prove to you they are a 'serious club'. Whether Arsenal finish 4th or not, only a mad man would claim the squad isn't better with the additions from the past 2 summers compared to where we were. |
