Like seriously, food has never been a problem to me neither is water , I take it or not it really doesn't matter . But these few days , the both has been my greatest challenge which brought about this ultimate quesion. What is the essence of fasting? No insult plz . Mood do the needful.

fasting is a time to have spiritual concentration and focus on God and a time you seek Him and commune spiritually .it lightens your body

Flesh (carnality) and the spirit war against each other in the quest to be in the rhema of God's presence.
Fasting makes you subdue the craving of the flesh (food, sex, watching indecency) and thereby making your spirit-self have the upper hand during prayers.

Remember fasting without serious praying is just an hunger strike. If you are fasting just because Pastor has declared fasting then you are on a long thing (just a waste of time)
