22months in government and he was able to reduce d level of corruption in government then!! Why not just give him a chance!! We are in a democratic country, there is no way he can Islamize this country and we will all be looking!! It is just not possible.. Osinbajo is a pastor and a brilliant lawyer!! Just watch this man speak and you will marvel at his level of intelligence!! Apc really has a lot to offer if only given the chance!!

God bless Nigeria..
I expected this and I modified my earlier post. Go check!
OK here is my response. I preempted you already!
People say he had just 20 months, 20 months in Military rule is more than 40 months in democratic rule because you do not need any parliament to pass any budget before implementation, approve any policy, approve any forking thing. It is like a continum no distraction.

So no excuse. He did not do well!!!

Yeah, total embarrassment but I don't want them to probe it. It's going to waste valuable time. I think the plan they have can work very well. We can focus on industrial areas first then gradually go to residential areas

Even though I think Osinbanjo and the APC campaign team are just running their mouths and say what anyone want to hear, Osinbanjo at least is able to explain few things to people to buy whether or not it is the truth. On the other hand, BHUARI can't explain eloquently what are his vision and what his administration will do for the country. But he will keep shouting I will fight corruption but as a born to rule Fulani man, he is the head of corruption. If you think you are born to rule and Lord it over others via your religion and tribe, then, you are the grandfather of corruption.

How many so called "10MW" stations does this man think will power Nigeria? He thinks its that simple as it sounds. And some would begin to clap for him just because what he says includes something like MW in the same sentence.

It is very sad that with all the resources available to the Professor of law he can made such a blunder!
These gibberish will only hold water for the layman as his understanding of the enormous design, generation, transmission and distribution challenges of electric power in a tropical climate is very low.
For those that want to be enlightened these steps he listed are not ignorant or naive but foolish and will only work in Pluto!
India had the same issues with Nigeria decades ago and the approach they used is what the Nigerian government are obviously modelling.-Build more power plants and overhaul the transmission system on the long run a simple deduction an electrical engineering student would have helped the Prof with.

Easier said than done.

Oppositions in other countries counter governmental policies by providing alternatives backed with research but in Nigeria, they keep criticizing without providing alternatives and when they do it is more of opinion than of fact.

We are not ready.

SMH....and these are the clowns that will bring in change? Establish IPP at strategic points? LMAO!!

Anyway, lemme let you guys in on a lil info:

1) Yes our Transmission grid has not been privatised by the GEJ administration. BUT same administration has OUT SOURCED the management of our Transmission coy to a reputable Canadian Utility coy (Manitoba Power). So what Prof. Osibanjo just said has ALREADY been implemented by GEJ.

2) Yes we still have a central grid, BUT in 2012/2013 the same GEJ administration, through NERC (Prof. Nnaji's watch as Power minister) authorised State IPPs to distribute LOCALLY. Again, same thing Osibanjo just mentioned.

Overall, APC has CLEARLY shown that they're bereft of ANY new innovative ideas in their manifesto, and are only interested in the presidency only. I am NOT impressed. Try harder.

Even a go-getter like OBJ couldn't do it. It's a lot more complex than people see from outside.

I think a gradual but steady & sustained approach is needed. He has not mentioned solar or wind energy. These have huge potential.

He hasn't mentioned possiblity of switching maybe 50% to nuclear energy in 10 to 15 years from now. Even the west with the tech for alternative sources still reply on atomic energy. It is within a nation's control, not much affected by external forces like OPEC etc.

THANK YOU!!! You've said it all.

Ladies and gentlemen, GEJ was no fool when he brought in the likes of Prof. Nnaji and the current Power Minister, or when NOI, current Coordinating Minister of Finance and the Economy made Power it's priority in its first few years of administration. Thanks to GEJ:

1) Old power stations were fixed and expanded.
2) New power stations were commissioned and brought online
3) Issue of adequate gas supply to these power stations (gas-powered) was tackled via the GAS REVOLUTION that saw the construction of thousands of miles of gas pipelines across the nation from sources to destinations. At a point, it was no surprise that Nigeria can no longer meet its obligations to its West African clients as it re - routed it's gas to its power stations as it made the power sector it's priority. That was NEVER done by past administrations, GMB ' S inclusive.
4) Our transmission grid has been drastically expanded and modernised with new lines and new substations constructed and commissioned.
5) Same transmission coy managing the grid has been outsourced to Manitoba Power, a reputable Canadian utility firm. Again no surprise there as our original grid was built earlier on by a Canadian firm too.
6) Distribution wise, we've seen the massive distribution of step - down transformers and full implementation of prepaid meters. As a matter of fact, on taking office for the very first time, the current Power Minister, Prof Nebo, he instructed the full release of power transformers hoarded by the now defunct PHCN.

Overall, the strategy adopted has worked. Power generated, previously hovering a bit over 1,000MW during past administrations, has exceeded 4,000MW (except for current drop to 3900+MW, no thanks to sabotaged gas pipelines). Nigerians now enjoy more hours of light compared to yesteryear. As a matter of fact, I can confidently tell you that I personally enjoyed 22 hrs of light all year round at Jalingo, and over 10 hrs of light at Uyo, a dramatic improvement compared to previous years. Business - wise, I've seen a considerable drop in diesel (AGO) consumption at my family owned business from N600, 000.00+/month to a bit over N200 , 000. 00/month.

The system is still not perfect, but GEJ has definitely impressed me.

Didn't u know good governance works just like magic?
DrMuzungu:
People, I beg, don't let anyone deceive you!!!!!

My small poor country of only like 9 million people, produces 2.5 times more electric power at any given moment, day, night, summer, winter. Nigeria being at least 20 times larger in terms of population, it means that we produce nearly 30 times more energy per person. Here, electricity goes off, on average, about 30 minutes a year, maybe one hour, in case of some large disasters at power plants or transmission system.

And we are not a rich western country, not at all!!!

To achieve that, Nigeria has to build energy production and transmission systems up to 30 times larger compared to what is on the ground now. APC, or any other political group, can achieve such expansion and improvements quickly only by using magic. Sadly, magic doesn't exist.

Well, maybe this is the intolerance and fanaticism people are scared of when talking about GMB and his people, especially when religion is added. Hear GMB speak:

(1) Fight against Boko Haram is fight against the North
(2) Muslims should only vote for someone who will protect their faith/religion.
(3) Monkey & baboon will be soaked in blood.

These are some of the inflammatory speeches of a supposed elder statesman who want us to believe he has anything good in mind for all Nigerians.

GMB should at best be in a Madrasa grooming people for Boko up North. Or preparing how to achieve Arewa Almajiri Caliphate. And leave us in peace. I saw his first coming and brutality close-up.

Osinbanjo has nothing to promise even. In 9ja, a VP is like "ue" in ROGUE. Useless that is in his Aguda House. Until his boss dies.

Even a rich, bold, connected, born-2-rule & super ambitious strategist/schemer like Atiku was still made irrelevant by OBJ in his second term.

Those politically savvy Northerners know how to keep the wily SW people in check.
All the while allowing SW people believe they can use superior education to control Northerners. It never works that way. Awo couldn't, MKO couldn't.

OBJ succeeded by playing fool to Northerners in 1979. And getting his own back in 1999.

Not all electricity generated has to be transferred to the grid. Only plants generating above 15MW MUST transfer to the grid. 15 and below can be distributed directly to the specific end users. This is a regulation under NERC. This is how Lagos has been able to develop IPPs for in different parts of the state for those key service providers - hospitals, the court etc.

So to correct your statement...power may not be law but knowledge of the law is 'power'.
