Lexusgs430: Yes, there's lots of transaction in my account and it commensurate with my monthly income of 150k, will have a bank balance of 500k when applying the visa, will include those receipts in my application just for more proof. |

losobola: How long have you been in your present job? Yes, you can apply now(provided you have all relevant docs to support your application). |

Hi, ill be applying for a U.K business visitor visa to write PLAB and do a clinical attachment later in the year. I'll be staying maximum of 2-3months. I'll be sponsoring myself. I'm married with a kid and earn over 250k monthly (though money hardly accumulates in my account), I've been on the job for over a year (federal govt. Job). My wife earns 182k I'd love to know how best to compile my application & what amount should I aim building up my account to before applying? NOTE: I'll be travelling alone without my family. Thanks |

Pzone: What are your plans for accommodation, feeding and other sundry expenses? If renting, £500pcm would be a fair budget(500*3) £1500*286=N429,000.Calculate your wage per month and work out, how it fits in. That is just an example of wage against expense and other multiplier effects. NB: My calculations are based on the proviso that your Visa, would probably not entitle you to work and the visa officer would want to ensure you can sustain and not tempted to violate your Visa conditions. |

Well done and good job you are doing here I am trying to apply as a first timer for uk visa, and the shortest period being offerd is 1 year instead of the six month. Iv never applied for uk visa before though iv been granted other EU country visa. Is there something am not doing right? Again, even though I'm working as a lawyer in my hubby's law firm, he's sponsoring me and our kids, do I need to include my statement of acct? Bearing in mind that I'm a signatory to the firms account + am an associate, is the firm, company and my hubby personal statement of acct sufficient |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by worry359(m): 8:37pm On Jan 19, 2015 |
twingirls:UK like to see a healthy PERSONAL bank account with wages coming in and transactions that you can explain. They do NOT like buisness accounts being used for tourist travel. Also provide very strong ties to proove that you will return home. |

Hello Justwise and Vicjustice. Please help here. My husband and i wish to reapply for the UK visa. I was denied the first time in 2013 cos my hubby didn't apply with me and i also didn't present a letter of consent from him. After that we both applied together and we were refused again because my husband had some money lodgement in his statement and we also didn't have much travel experience. We took a break and went to Dubai in 2013. In 2014, we were both issued 2 years to the US and subsequently had our son there. Right now we have about N2m in fixed deposit/placement with very little in our bank accounts. Please advise how to go about this. Thanks |

Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by justwise(m): 7:56am On Jan 20, 2015 |
MrsBee: Your chances are good if you correct previous refusal points raised by the ECO, draw your spending budget for the trip and attach it to your visa application, avoid budging more than 2months of your monthly salary. Make a list of things/places you tend to do while in the UK. |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by justwise(m): 7:59am On Jan 20, 2015 |
larryshow40: If your cousin can provide documents to show that he can sponsor you comfortably then that may help but your chances are not high considering your salary |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by justwise(m): 8:01am On Jan 20, 2015 |
ulale: As a business man you earn 150k monthly or it varies? |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by larryshow40: 8:09am On Jan 20, 2015 |
justwise: Thanks justwise...yes he can show that can sponsor me comfortably....like how much(Minimum) do you think i should have in my account considering my salary Thanks |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by justwise(m): 8:12am On Jan 20, 2015 |
larryshow40: You have to present your salary account with true record of your earnings without trying to transfer money into it and your payslips. 1 Like |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by MrsBee: 10:20am On Jan 20, 2015 |
justwise:Thanks Justwise, since my son doesn't require a visa to travel, do we still need to include information about him (passport page, birth certificate, bank statement for him) etc |

lokia: Gooday doc, very interested in ur case as I am a doc n wud likely go down this lane. Pls let us know the outcome of ur visa processing. Had some couple of lodgement from "ajo" so I understand ur plight as well. Bro I am planning plab 1 4 nxtyear in BHC lagos but wanted 2 ask if u wrote urs dere as well or ghana? |

I am self employed and I want to travel for family visit to the Uk. I intend to use a friends company as my employer because d it has tax clearance. Will a photocopy of d tax clearance be ok? As an employee, do I need to show tax clearance? Thank you @vicjustice @justwise @lexusgs430 |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by Lexusgs430: 7:08pm On Jan 20, 2015 |
eninaija: Emphasis on 'You intend'. Do you have any affiliation to this company ? As an employee, presumably, your tax structure would be on P.A.Y.E, so you do not tax clearance. |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by worry359(m): 7:08pm On Jan 20, 2015 |
eninaija: You intend to start your travel life by telling a lie! This is just the kind of thing that will get you a ban. Any tiny, tiny, slip up in your story or the evidence and your travel prospects for many years will be ended. Wait untill you have an honest history and ties to home. |
