OjaP:Yes, and it's called biased judgement. Why not ask further questions as to why the uncle wants him there, what are the plans the uncle has in place for him if he falls out of status. Let's not be too African about things. Let's be open minded about issues In no way is the conclusion right. You've been here. I had thesame view and I've corrected myself, just two nights here. I thought worse about my uncle too and some friends. I had to apologise. |
Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 6 by bigfrancis21: 8:14pm On Jan 19, 2015 |
OjaP: Actually bro, the bone of contention didn't even call for argument in the first place except that he wanted to keep dragging the issue. He aired his point and I was only pointing out his quickness at being too quick to conclude, so as to try to avoid it next time. Personally, I would not have taken the stance I took if prior 'judges' had taken a fair stance in their judgment. The entire discussion was beginning to turn into an 'evil uncle vs an innocent nephew' affair. I had to bring in a balance, somehow. I am a Nigerian and I know its part of our culture to easily conclude or judge another person from one side without hearing from another side. However, in an advanced age and time like ours, fairness cannot be overemphasized. 1 Like |

I don't have to join issues with some praymantis who in their shallow mind can throw punch. Bigfrancis is enough, he can do the job so well, placing some riff raffs where they belong. That dude got PhD in dropping wings. 1 Like |

slimmy05: I do not want to delve into the uncle-ish thing again since Exxy said he would continue to go to school and hope for the best, so I wouldn't want to drag this further. But just FYI, some friends and relatives are naturally wicked, and I would suggest that you don't just apologize to any one with the mindset that America is that tough. Please make sure to apologize for the right reasons. Enjoy your MLK holiday. 1 Like |

slimmy05: But having an accent especially as a black man helps at times in terms of profiling. There's this general fear of the black man especially and I've noticed once in a while people being apprehensive or raising their guards up when you approach them to ask a question but once they hear your accent, they immediately relax and become nicer. So, don't lose your accent. Use it to your favour. 1 Like |

The purpose of this thread is for people to seek opinions and it's just not right when people disagree with you and you decide to go all personal with the person. People will always have another idea, our experience in life tailors our reasoning and it's only natural for people to have differing opinion to yours. Please let's just move on and return the thread back to its original purpose which is to help prospective or future applicants and guide them on ways to go about a successful application and transition into Obamaland. The more, the merrier, let's help one another. I need una expert help biko. Anyways, anybody here in Uni of houston? 1 Like |

One thing I have discovered about Nigerians, they love lieing to themselves! At first I don't see why exxy should come here to discuss personal issues like this, I wouldn't want to believe you are below 18... Even if you are! Maturity is not by age! Bigfrancis gave the right channel of advice and I believe it's the truth! Stop lieing to yourselves, those who came here shouting and screaming i will never fall out of status are ladies who got something to offer in exchange for money! from what I know... Even one of them don born one for yankee, they just dey scope u o... Y'all need to spare some time for the basic truth. I say again don't deceive yourself, know what you want, tell yourself the truth, plan well... If you intend to go schooling, get your funds ready! If not...don't go at all because you will end up wasting your money and falling out of status.. That same money you can use to file for marriage parol.. Don't dull I wont open my mouth to say everything here... Finally, depend on God! Only Him can see you through. 6 Likes 1 Share |
