Boy, I'm embarrassed on your behalf. Just read the tripe you posted up there and tell me you don't feel embarrassed for yourself and your failed propaganda.

The Warri Refinery was awarded in 1975 (before Buhari was minister) and began operation in 1978 after it was constructed by the Italian Snamprogetti company (Buhari assumed office as minister the previous year), so why are you propagandists ascribing it to Buhari? Where did the 4 refineries come from?
The Kaduna refinery was awarded in 1976 by Murtala, and completed in 1979 during Obasanjo's tenure (Buhari left in 1978), so why ascribe it to Buhari?

Citing minor upgrades carried out in the pre-existing plants (as you just did above) only further exposed your deceitful nature.
A lubricating oil complex was added in Kaduna, and you shameless lapdogs go to the pages of your newspapers to scream that Buhari built 4 refineries?

You just exposed yourself some more, dude.

when you keep listening to a lie for a longtime, it begins to appear as the truth to you.
The fact that buhari messed up and didn't live up to expectations, leaves them in a hopeless situation.

pls Mr barcanista learn to concede defeat like a good sportsman, over flogging the truth to dent it into what you want people to believe will end up making you a caricature.

you lost this one, although I still enjoy your analysis on other topics, but defending buhari's economic policies is not something that will make you look less intelligent.

jona has not been the best but don't twist facts to suit the people's general.

I swear, I'm so ready for these people.
For many years, they've been misinforming the public with ENDLESS LAYERS of LIES.
But as they say, facts are sacred!

Already, the buffoons are doing the best they can to like their own posts on the first page using their multiple Nairaland handles, but they shall be exposed.

I'm going to keep humiliating these liars one by one, and every fake story they've tried to spin to deceive the public about this coupist bastard, shall be exposed.

So far:

* Buhari slashed inflation - BUSTED
* Buhari's daughter is married to an Igbo man - BUSTED
* Buhari built refineries - BUSTED
* Buhari was not corrupt - BUSTED
* Buhari actually imported our refined oil - REVEALED
* Buhari has a Master's Degree - BUSTED

And even with the way things are going, the lid might soon be blown open to reveal that Buhari actually never had any O-Level certificate to begin with. If it turns out to be true, then it would mean he was never supposed to be a General in the first place.

Now, tell me how a man who thrives on so much lies would "foit kworrapshun".

Before engaging you, do you know the difference between refinery and petrochemical plant? if you do, the question for you, Did Buhari build a refinery or formulated a plan for petrochemical plant? Do you know whay it is called Warri Refining and Petrochemical Company Limited after the merger?
Is Jim Ovia building a refinery or petrochemical plant in Akwa Ibom state?

I have told you, it is not every thread you reply, there are some threads you should just pass by instead of exposing your daftness.

Like Buhari struggling to present school cert, lots of his apologists are not very enlightened people. As represented by Victor "Penarity" Ikpeba. grin.

Buhari represents "Olodo come good" dream of school drop-outs. You know those people parroting "nor be education dey make person rich" but use the services of a doctor, dentist, lawyer, surveyor, accountant, pilot, journalist, architect, engineers etc.
They have little regard for critical analysis, statistics, empiricism or written history. Lies, sentiments, emotional outbursts, threat, intimidation, hearsay and rumours make more sense to them.

Muhammadu Buhari was the Petroleun Minister in 1977

Both are from the official website of Both refineries. History can never be re-written. That Buhari undertook refinery construction as Petroleum Minister under Obasanjo Administration does not equate to not importing PMS product in 1984. I don't get your point but don't re-write history

I heard about this trade by barter system adopted by Buhari and most people who spoke about it called the move a genius move that even forced the United Kingdom back into opening up trade links with Nigeria.

The economy of the nation at that time was quite complex I learnt.. With so many international sanctions and trade restrictions against Nigeria, he had to come up with a plan and this barter system was it..

What about the government refineries? What about the Port Harcourt Refinery, Eleme Refinery, Warri Refinery and Kaduna Refinery. .

Or are we about to kill off the government refineries and handover monopoly on refineries to 2 Nigerians (who I am sure are fronts for the main ogas).

Olodo tinub thinks ab0kis are fools.

With my personal experience with northerners if you (from the south) assume them as fools(as the case usually is) ab0ki will play along and when he is comfortable tht you think him foolish he will strike.

Actually, his poor international relations (as a result of the human rights violations) brought nothing but sanctions to the country until he resorted to mortgaging our future with his retrogressive barter trade as well as minting more money. So I wonder where the fake story about his "slashing inflation" came from.

Thank God his regime lasted less than 2 years; otherwise, we would have been another North Korea by now.

Did you know that under Buhari's administration, Nigeria signed a pact to export unrefined crude oil to other countries and then import the finished products afterwards?

This 1984 news article from The New York Times lays it bare!

*******************************************

Brazil Wins Nigeria Pact
AP
Published: March 14, 1984

RIO DE JANEIRO, March 13—Brazil has won an international bidding contest to refine Nigerian oil this year, the state oil company, Petrobras, announced today.
The $1.2 billion agreement calls for Brazil to import Nigerian crude and return refined gasoline, jet fuel and diesel oil to Nigeria, a Petrobras spokesman said. He added that the accord would allow Brazil to reduce its idle refining capacity and earn a margin of profit.
Brazil imports about two-thirds of the one million barrels of oil it consumes daily, mostly from the Middle East. It buys 10,000 barrels daily from Nigeria.

http://www.nytimes.com/1984/03/14/business/brazil-wins-nigeria-pact.html

Thanks Kenai for digging this up as part of the background check series of the old soldier who wants us to RECRUIT him for our nation's #1 job.

TRUE patriots and progressives should share the OP's post as widely as possible on NL and even outside NL.

It can be better with us!

No amount of propaganda and lies will make the General not to win the elections. This is 2015 and not 1984.
Besides, how many refineries have Jonathan built? He cannot even maintain the existing ones built in the government which Buhari served as a minister of petroleum.

Nonsense!!

Sai Buhari!!

No responsible government that wishes to embrace an Open Market economy would be running oil refineries in the 21st century.
Jonathan's team is working on taking those refineries off the government's hands and into the hands of private sector, because it's the more logical thing to do.
The Soviet Union was a superstate that had its refineries run by the government. Do you want to know what happened to them in the end?

Berem, you're an economic illiterate who knows nothing about the intricacies of building a developing economy in a 21st century superstate like Nigeria, so shut the f0ck up and stick to selling your curtains!
