yes its soo very possible... prepare the stew as you would want it prepared except that you dont fry the tomato. Instead, U add a little potash to kill the raw taste and it will come out great.

Akanwa is bad for your health.
Fry tomatoes til each time you scoop it with your soup spoon it will continue frying in the spoon. That's a sign that stew is fried and nolonger sour.
Avoid akanwa/potash.

yea I know... Most people use it directly by grinding it to powder and sprinkling in food being cooked but a safe way to use it is by putting it in water for like 30 minutes. When the water changes colour a bit, use it to cook and replace the water in the container where the potash is incase of future use. I also learnt this from my mum who is a medical doctor.

Its simple nah... Boil the meat and chicken, add stock, salt and onions. Remove the meat and chicken, just pour blended tomatoes, pepper into the pot with the water you boiled the meat with, then you can add palm oil at this point. Let it boil and when its almost done, add your meat and chicken viola...

Blend ur tomatoes, pepper , onions(ginger , garlic ,tatashe )if necessary+season ur meat or fish wit the spices u intend to cook d stew with .Then pour d blended paste into a pot and put it on the stove to boil till d water inside dries up (not to a point of burning o nd remember not to put spoon inside cos it'l splash all over the kitchen ) then pour eida ur red oil or groundnut oil into d boiling tomatoes (allow for a little while ) then pour in ur meat+ d seasoned water dat was used for boiling ,cover ur pot and allow to boil.then if its with fish , pour only d seasoned water and kip The fish in a bowl till its 2mins to bring down the stew then u add d fish allow it for d remaining 2mins nd bring down d pot (in other for the fish not to scatter inside d stew . To stir (hold the handles of d pot and turn frm side to side to allow it stir till u bring it down from d stove)u can now use spoon to stir in other to avoid splashes. hope I helped
