TYPOP: @ Typop and Sam.....this may not be spam. I think he is just confused and may not know how to ask d right question. I also have a friend's sister who is planning to come for nursing here too. The process is that she will apply and may be called for selection exams.... It is after d selection exams that u will be given admission if successful. So I think the issue is that she can only come with visitors permit for the selection exam since no admission yet to apply for study permit. So what I advised is to come with visitors permit for the selection exam and then go back to naija. If u are now notified of d success and given admission... Then u may use that to apply for study permit. Good luck. 1 Like |

Kentrasso:Thanx. Do u knw abt yellow cards? I have 1 I got in 2009 and it says valid 4 10yrs. Will it fly? |
Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by skimmeh1: 8:28am On Jan 26, 2015 |
the yellow card you obtained from 2009 is now outdated even though it is to last for 10 years. new cards were rolled out about 2 years ago and applicants with even valid old vaccination cards were advised to get the old cards renewed. go to the port health Centre of the international airport in Lagos(if you are in lagos) and get the new vaccination card. it will cost you 1000 naira bisi16: |
Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by yinkaabeegs: 8:34am On Jan 26, 2015 |
bisi16: for the yellow card, you need to get the new card from ministry of health or MMIA. it goes for 1k coz d old one is now obsolete. |

Hello errone!...I'm new in this forum tho I've gone through the pages from the scratch buh I've got questions... This is my issue and will be glad if I can get quick response about the whole visa process and how to get admission to South Africa. My Brother in South Africa has invited me to come study ACCOUNTING (Undergraduate) in South Africa but he said I should search for relative low tuition universities from 20-30k rands, I've googled enough but I'm still not getting schools with that tuition range...so If you know of schools with tuition around 20-30k rand please list them out for me 2. Searched google for the process of procuring a student visa to SouthAfrica but I still have an issue, which is the Medical insurance; is it that it must be done in South Africa or can be done here in Nigeria? 3. Do I need the Yellow Fever card? Boss Justwise (Travelling to Canada) and Boss Manager007 and all other persons in the forum Will appreciate quick response to my question...many thanks to y'all....#peace |

SantohFilz:Your brother in SA should know the cheapest fees .No need talking about medical insurance and yellow fever card when you don't ve admission letter . |
Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by bisi16(m): 1:38am On Jan 27, 2015 |
SantohFilz:U must get ur med insurance cover 4rm Nigeria b4 ur visa 'll be issued. Ur bro can help u wit dat. U can use momentum health (momentum.co.za). As 4 d yellow fever card, u must get dat too 4rm most Govt hospitals or MMIA. But all dis na secondary. Get ur admission 1st. D forum is always here 2 help |

SantohFilz: I don't think you'll find a school in SA with such low tuition for international undergraduate student. But there is a scholarship you can apply for,if your O Level results are good, it is the MasterCard Foundation Scholarship Program. It is tenable in two schools in SA viz University of CapeTown and University of Pretoria. It is a fully funded scholarship and covers tuition fees, accommodation and living expenses. The deadline for application is usually around August/September.If you have further questions on how to apply, you can ask. Cheers. |

Many thanks to y'all who took time to give response to my post...but is it that I can't get schools with that tuition range(20-30k rand)? And please when is the time schools resume in South Africa; when is the application deadline for the next available start date? In anticipation to your quick response. Thanks! |

Quailbirdfarmer: they ave strict immigration laws in SA concerning employment and no reputable company will offer you job with tourism visa in SA unless you ave critical and exceptional skills that are hard to be found around SA |

Thanks @ Manikky, your response shows that you have better understanding as to how i am feeling. The truth is that i am confused at some point as regarding this situation. Although maybe i didn't asked my question in a better way that made it looked like a Spam. But the reason why it looks confusing to me is about the monetary aspect and my job here in naija which i don't want to loose because that's where my income comes from. Presently in the place where i work, i don't have access to leave break for now. So therefore, what runs through my mind is after going to SA for the nursing exam screening, upon returning back to naija, will i still be able to secure my position in my place of work pending the time i wait the outcome of the exam and also try to gather some money for myself. Secondly, Is not that i can't enroll for a nursing training here in naija and then later go further in the career. Due to the nature of my job, i had intention in enrolling for weekend program. But unfortunately, The Medical Director of the Specialist Hospital i went to told me that they don't have provision for weekend nursing training and that the training they offer is a full-time one which is from 'MON-FRI. Thirdly, I also an 100L student at National Open University, which i am currently studying Criminology And Security Studies, at the same time a student a Alliance Francaise doing a french program only on weekends. I am thinking of ensuring that i should complete my course at National Open University and during my course of study at the Open University, hopefully by God's grace , i should have been able to raise substantial amount of money for my nursing career upon completion of my B.Sc program here in naija. But i don't i know if it will still be possible to enroll for the nursing Program by them with having a B.Sc degree in Criminology And Security Studies. Kindly Advise me on this People. Thanks in anticipation. manikky: |

SantohFilz:if you are not an SA citizen or from the SADC region (undergrad) i highly doubt you will get a univerisity with that tuition unless you plan on splitting the modules up and taking an extra year. A word of advice the time you took to log on NL to ask the same question repeatedly could have used on googling SA universities websites and getting the information for yourself. Some of the varsities you can look into UNISA UP UJ NWU UKZN Univen University of Limpopo UFH 1 Like |

SantohFilz: Check SA university websites because they all do not have the same deadlines and resuming dates |

UP and UCT are among the best schools in SA,but they are very expensive. However,if you can get a Scholarship such as the MCFSP,you'll enjoy studying there. Send me a PM,I'll forward the application forms to you,so you could see for yourself and so you can also start getting the required documents ready. But you must submit a separate application for admission and meet the admission requirements for both UP and UCT to be considered for the scholarship. |
