Hello gurus,

Pls i'm in the process of filling my DS-160 form. However, on the Travel Information section, there' s where i have "Have you made a specific travel plans?" if i click YES it will prompt for the airline i'm travelling with, date of departure, arrival date, where do you plan to visit/itinery, airport of arrival etc and if i click NO it prompts the questions i get are; intended date of arrival, length of stay and the person paying for the trip etc

Pls gurus what should i select "YES" or "NO".

From what I understand, the form is different for male and females. When I said , when I filled, I was still referring to hubby's own which is the most recent as I can't even remember what was in my form

I have a valid visiting visa. We are planning to go for a wedding in america with my wife and 2 kids, ages 5and 3. I have once travelled to america, spent 5 days when I was invited for a similar wedding 7 months ago, but now, the younger brother of the person whose wedding I attended 7 months back is getting married in September. Already I have an existing visa, and my wife and kids wish to go with me for the wedding. Will it be better for my wife and kids to apply for visas together or my wife alone should apply while our kids are left behind with our grandma ? although, we are desiring to spend just 5 days.
Pls advice

They can apply together. Just show ties to your country and be financially capable. But 5 days will be tasking for the kids

*the family inviting us are american citizens, but they re currently in Nigeria working temporarily. Its their son who is also an american that is getting married in america. He is marrying a full white american lady. The wedding will hold in america but the parents of the guy that is getting married are the one inviting us, and they are currently in Nigeria for a contract which will last till December. They just came to Nigeria recently for a contract job, they have been resident in america for about 30 years.
Considering the fact that the people inviting us are currently in Nigeria, will it not affect the chances of securing the visa?

in my own opinion which I stand to be corrected, I think you should just apply for a regular tourist visa instead of complicating it all and saying wedding but those inviting you aren't there bla bla bla, that's some long story, make your story easy since you have a visa, at least it's not only wedding you will be using the visa for, there will be subsequent vacations, let your wife and children go with a copy of your visa and biodata page to the embassy and apply for vacation, because to me the story is getting long already and you know those v.o's aren't patient before they'll start saying story for the gods

hi forum, please i will just like to know or be advised regards my intention. i ve an american visit visa, 2years. i intend to go on vacation this april while on leave from work. i told my boss about this visa and she suggested why not take a study visa in the US which the company its self will be sponsoring later this year for one year till i return back to the company. they do sponsor employees every year for either a 6months or 1 year program in any school of their own budget range. i intend to use the opportunity of my visit in april to scout for a school there and come back to apply there. my question now is, what will be your advice, hope trying this wont affect my valid visa? i ve no intention of over staying my time since i do have a strong family tie here, my wife, 2 kids, job and my own personal business. hope to read from you soonest. thank you.

LadyGuinivere:

You have already made your plans haven't u? U plan to go to Disney. So click yes. (IMO) Put in your tentative arrival and departure date. Put in the city and state you are going to for airport of arrival. For me , I didn't fill the airline I was travelling with. (How I wan take know?)
I believe its best to fill as much as you can in your form. Shows concreteness and seriousness. Shows you know what exactly you want to go and do.
Shalom

@ LadyGuinivere, Chloe7. Thanks for your prompt responses. God bless. I submitted my well filled-out DS-160 form ystday and also booked an 8'o clock appointment for March 10. I'll keep the house updated.

Got my visa approved yesterday, thanks to everyone on this thread. At first I was a lil nervous and almost forgot what I had in mind to say, but I said a lil prayer in silence and reminded myself that I have prayed, fasted and prepared myself for this day...that I wont give room for any failure.
Here's my transcript

Vo: good morning
Me: good morning Sir,
Vo: where are you going to in the USA?
Me: Cleveland Ohio
Vo: what are you going to do their?
Me: to close a business deal with my boss, attend training and buy goods for my company
All these while he has been typing while talking to me...
Vo: what is tye name of your boss?
Me: gave him his name
Vo: what's the name of your company?
Me: XYZ...
The vo asked me the name of the company I am going to attend training in the usa, but I mistakenly name one of the products, but with confidence sha...truth is, the company name has completely left my head, even from the queue, only that particular anti ageing product.
Vo: where did you study and what did you study
Me: UniLag and I study Mathematics science
Vo: so how did you end up in Cosmetics company?
Me: I've always had a passion for it
Vo: do you have any traveling experience?
Me: yes, been to China, UAE and West African countries
Vo: are you with your old passport?
Me: yes
Vo: where's it?
Checked my file, told him its not their, that it could be in the car...told him if I should go and get it, but hr said no
Vo: what did you say is the name of your boss again?
Me: told him
Vo: Ok your visa will be ready on monday, go to tye address on this white slip.
Me: thank you Sir

It was God oh! They denied so many people before my turn. Thanks guys

get a police report and a sworn affidavit, apply for another visa, and I hope you have scanned copies of your visas, the u.s embassy doesn't replace stolen visas, you have to apply again and attend interview.
