patches689: This thread is STRONGEST MILITARY IN AFRICA....not sub sahara....So Egypt, Algeria, Morocco have the best 3 navies in Africa. SAN cannot patrol and catch one single pirate in Mozambique, all your frigates and submarines are broken down except one each. Strongest is relative, SAN cannot match NN in maritime security enforcement, nobody is shooting missiles at sea in the world today . 1 Like |

agaugust: There are no pirates in Mozambique - because we are there The status of Frigates and Subs is not permanent - its just at this point in time the maintenance of 2 other frigates has overlapped. Sometimes 1 is operational, sometimes 2 and every now and then 3. Depends on what the Navy plans to have operational for its needs. And again, SAN is not only composed of frigates. And, in terms of warfighting ability, NN is centuries behind the SAN |

agaugust: Define ready for war. If it war then we have 2. SAN runs on very strict standards. According to civlian standards just about all our ships are sea worthy. But to us we need the primary system and all the back ups working. If one bilge allarm is broken the ship can't deploy. All the engines, pumps, genorators, extra have to work for us to deploy. This high standard is of course can be ignored if the situation is dire enough. |

patches689: Nope, your own illiteracy is staggering The article talks about Chinese products flooding into South Africa and killing your weaker economy, your people love to use made in China I quote from the article : 3. Chinese‐South Africa Trade Flows 3.1 Growth and Structure of Chinese‐South Africa Trade Trade between South Africa and China has grown dramatically since China joined the WTO in 2001. South African imports from China increased from less than $1.1 billion in 2001 to $14.2 billion in 2011. Throughout the period, South Africa has run a trade deficit with China which tended to increase over time, as shown in Figure 1 Chinese products are now colonizing South African cities all over your country . |

Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by FighterPilot(m): 6:46pm On Jan 29, 2015 |
agaugust: Exactly which products are colonizing us. Made in China does not translate into suggesting that the brand is from China. Adidas, Nike or Puma know very well that China has manpower and you only have to pay them cheap to produce your product faster than a lightning. Unfortunately for me, I.have nothing in my house that is a China product, other than a European company producing their products using Chinese cheap labour. 1 Like |

agaugust: That's true SANDF know nothing about them because they are free citizens who are not contracted to work for SANDF. They do not account to SANDF so why should they make their whereabout known to SANDF? Mercenary service is banned in SA, of course they wouldn't want everyone to know about their destination. However, the beeld newspaper which always uncover secret operations in SA reported about the whereabouts of SA mercenaries. They are now exposed. 1 Like |
