Nigeria maintain her Alpha jets athome. This particular jet serial number is 470, been looking for all our old jets serial number with no luck

Not just Alpha Jets. We also do TAM for our C-130's and G-222's at home. NAF 913 and 917 were all done at home.

yeh the one beside the minesweeper, i call it NNS Dakingsman, kidding.. there loads of them on our water nowadays..

In addition to NNS Okpabana, we inducted 2 other ships into Nigerian Navy service. We are gradually growing the Navy, i think what the Navy currently needs are more fighting Ships and Helicopters.

I understand NIMASA transferred a couple helicopters to the Navy, but numbers still aren't enough to cover effectively our EEZ.

Do you even know what a trade deficit is?

Let me explain:

- they buy 1 thing from us
- we buy 2 things from them

We now have a trade deficit of 1.

It has nothing to do with what you are saying you troglodyte

Nice to see you admit South Africa imports more Chinese products than you are able to export to them. Visit Shoprite, it's full of made in China electronics and articles. China floods South Africa with what you call junk products, your people love it and buy it daily, that's how China forced South Africa into trade deficit by making you a dumping ground for made in Fong Kong grin

Ok apparently this Alpha Jet is New in Service

NAF has just received this month, 6 newly purchased Alpha jets with night fighting capabilities and precision guided missiles/bombs.

Nigeria now has many PGMs....air to surface guided weapons, we can sink South African navy Frigates with ease anytime day or night !

Believe it or not I agree with you on this one. Their help never comes without huge strings attached and own interests prioritized at the long run expense of the countries they invade/manipulate, we've all seen how well it's turned out for the all the countries they've "helped" in the last 20 years. At least (in recent years) when the French may perhaps have on occasion covertly come in to sort out certain situations affecting their interests, once done they get out, say nothing and don't play puppet master with the region involved.

With comments from their 'US Africa Command' general like this: "The United States was working with Nigeria to build a comprehensive strategy "across the board, not just military," that encompassed education, economic development and health care to address the needs of the population in the north, the four-star general said.", giving a worrying feeling of hang on a minute! Influencing strategy "across the board"? That's the sort of thing they were saying before ruining all the countries they've recently "liberated". Not good sad

Providing Security is the sole responsibility of the Nigerian Government. At the end of the day, the buck stops at the desk of President GEJ. He takes the blame.

The United States since the end of WW2 has been involved in over 70 wars/conflicts around the world. In all 70 wars, only involving the U.S, they have only seen victory against tiny island nations of Panama and Guam, i'm had pressed to think of another or more they've had Success in.

I don't see the military justification the U.S commander has to claim the Nigerian military strategy is failing. "After 8 years of occupying Iraq, they are back in Iraq."

Human rights allegations, I mean, these fools are funding terrorists in Syria, parling with known terrorists sponsors (Saudi-arabia, Qatar, turkey, kuwait), and selling AH's to Egypt, Israel, kuwait, colombia.

They should spare Nigeria the gibberish and just say " we won't sell to you.", we herd elsewhere.

As for the French............ let's just say, when the first colonialist stepped his foot on francias Afrique , he hasn't left.

Nigerian Navy acquired few bell helicopters last year

Yeah, I know of the bells, we have had them since 2012. I'm talking about good helicopters like the NH-90, Ka-27 or helicopters in that class.

AW 101 Merlin helo offers best range for our navy, 6 hours flight endurance, but NATO won't sell us ASW armed version, they gladly sold us VVIP versions. NN needs long range helicopters like the AW 101 for maritime security

Yeah the merlin would have been a great helo for us. It looks very similar to the NH-90.

We could also convert some of our Super-puma helos to naval variants.

What do you think stealth is?

Low thermal signature, reduced acoustic signature, low radar detectability in relation to size (an SAN 200 MEKO surprisingly appears as an empty "dead spot" from some angles when moored alongside viewed on low tech civilian grade small craft radar) integrated with sonar, radar, IR, optical systems able to detect, search and track other objects in passive modes at relatively decent ranges.

Being able to successfully track and target an equivalent but more detectable opponent (same radar, etc) at a stand off range the other vessel is unable to successfully engage from. In terms of ships that's an abbreviated overview of stealth I think.

However all the design elements and systems needed to achieve this are very expensive and not really necessary particularly for OPV's of the Centenary's nature which is ideal and a lot more cost effective for it's intended purpose compared to costly to purchase and run high tech "stealth" ships able to play hide and seek with fancy foreign ships.

If the target is rebels/pirates and the vessel's systems are able to watch/detect/intercept them before they know they've been spotted then it's stealthy compared to them.

Nigerian military college, we instruct there !

Report says South African COIN operatives....your officers in charge of your COIN operations were trained by Nigerian army experts

Source clearly says :

A total of 103 counter insurgency operatives from Nigeria and nine other African countries have concluded a four-week intensive training on internal security.

It doesnt say that

This is what it says:

The training, which was held at the Armed Forces Command and Staff College, Jaji, Kaduna State, drew participants from 11 agencies and organisations, as well as Senior Course 36 of the college. Other participants were from South Africa ,Togo, Cameroon, Gambia, Burkina Faso, Benin Republic, Liberia, Sierra Leone and Ghana.

Can you read?

Uhh, no.

China primarily imports primary products from us

We import secondary products from them

Secondary products are value added, meaning they cost more than primary products.

The majority of those "chinese products" are american products built in China.

That's a pure lie. UN only put Tanzanian commanders and Nigerians because they are anyway poorly paid from their respective countries. Have you ever seen UN appointing US commanders?

However, let us do away with negative talks and admit that SA military academy has always offered the best academic military training in the world for many years. It had always been recognised as the best in the world. Nigeria does not have a military academy to that level.
