Please bro i am also interested in the scholarship program, how can you assist me with the scholarship processes?

Emasel:

UP and UCT are among the best schools in SA,but they are very expensive. However,if you can get a Scholarship such as the MCFSP,you'll enjoy studying there.
Send me a PM,I'll forward the application forms to you,so you could see for yourself and so you can also start getting the required documents ready.

But you must submit a separate application for admission and meet the admission requirements for both UP and UCT to be considered for the scholarship.

When I got the visa twice, I used an agent who got it for me then but the 2 times I was refused, I tried doing it myself. Also, I was told by an agent that since I've been refused twice, I can't apply again... how true is this?

samtol4:
when you collected the visas twice did you use insider? No doubt insider might be involved but that is not the reason for your denial if you have proper documentation without having an insider your visa is sure ..The mindset that without insider you can't get things done is erroneous and absurd .Your last application you did hotel reservation without making any financial commitment so the hotel cancelled your booking .Things have changed now embassy now contact hotels .next time when you apply @least pay a night mayb R200 or 300 depending on the standard of the hotel they will give u a letter signed by the manager to back up your booking .

I have been refused twice by SA embassy, 1st in 2013 and second I applied in December 2014 and was refused January 2015 when I got my passport. I was told by an agent that I can't apply again since I've been refused twice. How true is this?

The MasterCard Foundation Scholarship Program(MCFSP) targets academically excellent, yet economically disadvantaged young people in Sub Sahara africa.

The basis for the award of the Scholarships is financial need, academic excellence and leadership potential.

Initially,MCFSP was operational only in select schools in US and Canada, but late last year four African Universities were included to the partner universities.Amongst the universities in Africa are

1. University of CapeTown (UCT)

2. University of Pretoria(UP)

3. Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST)

4. Ashesi University

Of interest here to us are UP and UCT.

The first set of beneficiaries of the MCFSP in UP and UCT are currently studying for Undergraduate and Postgraduate programs respectively.

The Eligible courses under the MCFSP are Undergraduate and Postgraduate(Honours and Masters by Course work and Research and Masters by Research only) programs in the following disciplines

Engineering
Management and Social Sciences
Natural and Agricultural Sciences
Medical and Health Sciences

Scholarship Benefits:

The MCFSP is a fully funded scholarship and it covers

Travel and Visa Costs
Accommodation
Living Expenses
Full Tuition Fees

Also,on completion of their studies,MCFSP scholars are assisted to get paid internships in their home countries and also you will become part of an international community, the MCFSP alumni.

If you are interested,I'll advise you start making preparations now to apply, because you need to secure admission in the partner universities to be considered for the scholarship.

The scholarship is very competitive, but with God all things are possible.

Good luck.

Hello errone!...I'm new in this forum tho I've gone through the pages from the scratch buh I've got questions... This is my issue and will be glad if I can get quick response about the whole visa process and how to get admission to South Africa. My Brother in South Africa has invited me to come study ACCOUNTING (Undergraduate) in South Africa but he said I should search for relative low tuition universities from 20-30k rands, I've googled enough but I'm still not getting schools with that tuition range...so If you know of schools with tuition around 20-30k rand please list them out for me
2. Searched google for the process of procuring a student visa to SouthAfrica but I still have an issue, which is the Medical insurance; is it that it must be done in South Africa or can be done here in Nigeria?
3. Do I need the Yellow Fever card?
Boss Justwise (Travelling to Canada) and Boss Manager007 and all other persons in the forum Will appreciate quick response to my question...many thanks to y'all....#peace

Sorry for late response bro. I have been away on leave on only just got back.

To answer your questions straightforward... You CANNOT get low tution for Accounting and being an International student, forget it.

Your brother in SA may not know but budget between R35k - R50k depending on the university and also depending on location.

Your best bet remains University of Limpopo or University of Venda. They offer mouthwatering scholdarship and work study opportunities for iinternational students and Naija students are really taking advantage of the opportunity.

If there's anything else i can assist with, please ask and i will reply or any members of the forum will.

All the best!

I don't think you'll find a school in SA with such low tuition for international undergraduate student. But there is a scholarship you can apply for,if your O Level results are good, it is the MasterCard Foundation Scholarship Program. It is tenable in two schools in SA viz University of CapeTown and University of Pretoria. It is a fully funded scholarship and covers tuition fees, accommodation and living expenses. The deadline for application is usually around August/September.If you have further questions on how to apply, you can ask.

Cheers.
please i need info on how to apply,i want to go for undergraduate course.

Hello, I have an transcript sealed addressed to a school in Nigeria, Can i send that for evaluation?
On the evaluation page, Do I have to indicate schools I intend attending or i could leave it blank?
For the nursing entrance exam, Does one need to travel all the way to SA to write the exams?
Any idea what the fee range are in Naria? Thank you
Manager007:

Choosing to study nursing is a very good decision on your part. You will be able to secure a job and even move around different countries on a Nursing degree/diploma with the help of recruitment agencies (but you gotta work hard).

I would recommend studying via Netcare education (visit www.netcare.co.za/23/education-and-training). You will first need to write a standardized exam/test at OLG. If you pass, you begin the Netcare nursing program, if you dont get the required score, you will have to do something similar to "pre-degree" for one year, also at Netcare.

Now the advantage of netcare is that it has hospitals all over SA and in other countries abroad, so, you can choose to do your practicals at any hospital closest to your house. Another advantage is that you can also earn money while studying with netcare, once you complete the first year, you obtain a diploma and there are numerous job adverts for nursing assistants in their hospitals, every now and then. Alot of students rely on these jobs, you earn a decent wage and still get to earn your degree as well. So its a win-win situation.

However, before you even think of applying for admission, you need to evaluate your results at SAQA ( www.saqa.org.za), the evaluated credentials will be most useful in securing admission at Netcare or any other nursing colleges in SA.

Another good and reputable nursing college is Thuto Bophelo ( visit http://www.nursingacademy.co.za).

For accommodation, you will find your feet after a month or two during studies, you will find shared accommodation with your fellow students and share all bills. Just make friends and help and knowledge will come your way.

Lastly, another good course/program to study is Pharmacist Assistant. The good thing about all these courses is they give you practical training and you also earn money on the job

if there's any information else required, please ask and i'm sure everybody on this thread will be able to answer if they can.

All the best!

Yes you can send it in for evaluation. You do not have to indicate schools on the form. It's simply to evaluate all your credentials.
Yes, you would need to be in SA to write exams for admission into the nursing programs. You can do this on your visit to SA.

Price range varies from between N500 thousand naira - almost a million naira (dependent on additional bills such as accommodation etc).
