NEDG DEBATE BOYCOTT The Nigeria Election Debate Group, the organiser of the proposed debate is composed of Nigeria Television Authority (NTA), Broadcasting Organisation of Nigeria (BON), Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) and Africa Independent(?) Television(AIT). NTA is an agency of the government, its D-G appointed by the President and supervised by the Minister of Information. They aired the infamous and slanderous documentary against General Muhammadu Buhari. FRCN is also an agency of the federal government under the supervision of the Information Minister(an appointee of the President). The President appoints and fires FRCN's Director General at will. AIT is owned by a PDP Chieftain Raymond Dokpesi. The TV house also ran the infamous PDP/GEJ sponsored documentary against General Muhammadu Buhari. They also tilts their day-2-day broadcast to favour pro-PDP/Jonathan against anything pro-APC/GMB. Broadcasting Organisation of Nigeria(BON) is the statutory regulatory agency that regulates broadcast in Nigeria. The organisation is an agency of the federal government, and supervised by the Ministry of Information. BON failed to respond to the protest of APC and #TeamBuhari with respect to the slanderous PDP-sponsored documentary aired by NTA and AIT. It's political bias is not hidden. With agencies such as NTA, FRCN and BON, as well as pro-Jonathan AIT, one doesn't a soothsayer to tell that the debate will be a charade and a "hollabaloo" with intent of promoting the president and his party, and humiliate Muhammadu Buhari and APC. That Buhari withdraw from the sham of a "debate" is one smart move that he has made politically and should be applauded by all. Recall that in 2011 of the four leading Presidential Candidates, three candidates- Muhammadu Buhari (CPC), Ibrahim Shekarau(ANPP) and Mallam Nuhu Ribadu(ACN) shunned the NEDG debate with only Goodluck Jonathan participating against himself. No serious opposition aspirant will participate in a debate organised by NEDG considering the fact that the promoters of the group are unapologetic loyalists of the President and card carrying members of his party eg Mike Omeri and Raymond Dokpesi . The General will be more than willing to participate in a real Presidential debate just like he did in 2011. 143 Likes 13 Shares |

No surprises. Even if Buhari poos in a church, you'll still defend him. Meanwhile, this is the same NEDG that has been organizing pre-election debates since 2011 and all political parties have been participating since then. Not once did any of the participants complain of bias. We know the only reason Buhari would boycott the debate is because it will expose his incompetence. Thank God it was not GEJ that threatened to boycott the debate, otherwise Buhari goons would have had a field day unleashing their venom on him. Now that it was their weeping general that chickened out, they are here to make excuses for him. Assuming Buhari wins the election, but God forbid, this is how they'll try to make excuses for him when his govt begins to fumble and wobble. Shame!!! 69 Likes 10 Shares |

Garrithe1st:Jonathan is looking for the cheap way out. He thinks he's smart whereas he's not. Their ploy was to humiliate GMB on their platform, but the General is smarter, he took them unaware. Let them go debate with themselves and their cronies. We shall meet them at the polling booth 46 Likes 3 Shares |

Jonathan thinks Buhari is as clueless as he is, maybe he'll fall for it. The people's General is way smarter. #Wehavedecided 30 Likes |

barcanista:Sir, I'm not being unpatriotic. Buhari knows too well the view most people have about him, He should be looking for the slightest opportunity to prove his critics wrong and sell himself to the electorate, By boycotting the debate, He's confirming what people think about him. What proof does he have that NEDG leaked questions to GEJ?.. None! The man knows what he's avoiding. 28 Likes 5 Shares |

SeverusSnape:Lemme tell you, the charade is to be organised by PDP men. Common sense should tell you that the debate is meant to serve a particular interes. Mike Omeri who is one of the coordinators was Jonathan's Campaign spokesman in 2011, he is also the DG National Orientation Agency. Chief Dokpesi is a card carrying member of PDP, a Jonathan ally and owns the infamous AIT. All the Agencies are government controlled and they do as it pleases the President. You don't need a prophet to tell you the outcome unless you are insincere. 35 Likes 1 Share |

CaptainAmerica1:The General is more educated n smarter than Jona. For example, when GMB a better manager of the economy criticized the high prices Nigerians are being made to pay for petrol products by the clueless team given world crude oil price crash, GEJ has been panicking and reducing petrol products like ..... but Nigerians still don't trust GEJ! 4 Likes |

barcanista:No way!...If Buhari knows what he's doing, He would have gone for the debate; Will they also programme his mouth to say what they want him to say...The world is not a bed of roses, he should know that. And he calls him self a "general", A scared general he is. The generals I know are not scared of adversaries, both on and off the battle field. I still reiterate my stand, If Buhari is truly honest as he claims, he should have gone to that debate. He has scores of skeleton in his cupboard. A CLEAR CONSCIENCE FEARS NO ACCUSATION. 25 Likes 1 Share |

SeverusSnape:Bros, why are you sounding like this? Is it not when they give you the chance to speak for yourself that you can? I want to believe that you'd in debates(whether as debater or audience). Do you think contestant will be free to debate under a partisan coordination? And not just partisan, can you debate against your opponent on his own turf? 12 Likes 1 Share |

barcanista:Sir, If footballers can go to an away match and come back victorious, I Don't see why I can't debate with an opponent on his own turf. There is nothing there, Besides, They may ask them the same questions. See, If Aljazeera organises a debate among world leaders today, I Don't see Obama or Cameron boycotting the debate, because they both know they are capable. Barcanista, Deep down inside you, you know Buhari can't stand GEJ in a debate even though it's organized by BBC Hausa or TVC. What is Buhari scared of Now the Murtala foundation(...a supposed neutral body) have offered to conduct the debate, Let's see If he'll still decline the offer. 22 Likes 2 Shares |

Officer, wrong analogy! In football match, a neutral referee officiate. The referee has no tie with the home team. Even at that, there is "Home and Away". Nobody will agree to debate in a partial/partisan environment. Will Israel PM Nayayawu participate in a debate with Iran President on Press TV? SeverusSnape: 14 Likes |

barcanista:Of course, I Don't see why Rouhani will be a threat to Netanyahu; The Israeli PM is an action Man. And mind you, I made a Good example by citing a football match, You were the one that said "turf" that's why I cited a match, haven't you heard of "home advantage"?...The cheering of fans too can spur a team to victory. For goodness sake, All these accusations on BON, NOA, AIT, NTA are baseless, No proof whatsoever. Even APC fans know that Buhari can't debate, That's why one of them on Nairaland said "GMB till sambo debates with Osinbanjo", Ordinarily, Is it not Buhari (the main contender) he should talk about?...Recall the channels interview, It was a monumental disgrace. So you see Mr.Barcanista, any angle you come from, It all boils down to one thing; BUHARI JUST CAN'T DEBATE WITH JONATHAN, He'll regret he did. 12 Likes 2 Shares |
