bignyash: I didn't say there are no Nigerians in Harvard or anywhere. All I said was that citizenship has priority in graduate schools in the U.S. Wife got her MS in psychology from Harvard in 2013 and since began her PhD. She got in with just 305 GRE score (disappointing it's not above 310 the assumed Harvard cut off), no honor, no publication, no research but only with her BS from hunter college, SOP and 3 recommendation letters. Citizens have priority over international applicants, unless where there is little or no Americans for the course. bignyash: It's either you are talking about undergrad admission or you don't know about grad admission very well. I hope you know that graduate school consists of MS and PhD? In some courses, the higher the level of the degree is, the stricter it is for international applicants. This is part of one out of many emails I got from admission advisor when I was inquiring about graduate admission (PhD).
bignyash: Absolutely incorrect. Where did you get this general statistic? Some courses are peculiar to international applicants than the Americans e.g computer related courses, physical sciences etc. bignyash: I quoted ebdi not you. Your approach to my post was rude. 2 Likes |

slimmy05: I don't even understand this @bignyash guy He's rude and full of himself. So distasteful @imperiouxx You're very right. Domestic students have advantages in many admissions decisions. I heard it's cheaper for them to fund a domestic student than an intl student so that could be a factor Your wife is a harvadian! Impressive!! |
