*Is there any reason that you are presenting a 3 months bank statement instead of the required 6 months statements?
*Of what relevance is your house rent and what purpose would the rent document serve?
*Flight reservation doesn't normally stay for more than 48 hours, so, how do you suppose your reservation to remain valid throughout the period of the visa application?
By the way, Flight Reservation or Ticket is not a requirement.

Am married, had landed property and SOLID stocks. My sister was my co-sponsor while i was the main sponsor.

The visa officer was not satisfied that after so long time that you really wanted to resume your studies.
You would need to proove why the extra qualification would benefit you, (promotion or more money.)

Thanks for your observations, to the best of my knowledge, tourist applicants for France were only required to present a 3 months statement according to their website as at December but i don't know of now.

i read on a Nairaland thread last year that including your tenancy agreement document is also a good way to show ties to Nigeria as long as the rent is a substantial amount and doesn't expire soon.

@vicjustice, i applied for a UK visa last year May,and was denied due to the fact that my friend's signature on the invitation letter looked fake according to them and my uncle that was my sponsor did not indicate how much he wanted to spend on the trip. My dad's business as at that was down but now he is good, can he sponsor me without them denying me? Thank you.

I am currently filling out my DS 160 form for a B1/B2 US visa. My surname has a hyphen in between two names e.g SOME-BODY but I realised that the page doesn't accept hyphens between names. I had to write it as SOME BODY with a space and without the hyphen. Is this going to pose a problem during my interview? Because my intl passport and newspaper change of name has the hyphen. Please advise. Don't want any issues since it isnt my fault that the system doesn't accept it.

Dear Vicjustice et al, a case goes like this:

1. An husband is married to UK citizen obtained the former 2-years spouse resident permit in 2010 before the new UKBA minimum income threshold of 18,600 GBP.

2. He came back to Nigeria to work around 2011.

3. He was in Nigeria and the new rule of no 3rd party support and minimum income threshold of 18,600 GBP came into force.

4. For the fact that it is not allowed to apply for Indefinite Leave to Remain from outside the UK and he couldn't leave his work, his spouse's visa expired in 2012 after the new rule.

5. The only option available for spouse visa progression is the settlement route and which he applied.

6. The wife successively delivered babies and was on maternity for over 2 years without working. Therefore the new rule's minimum income threshold of 18,600 GBP was not met.

7. The applicant relied on the old rule as that was in operation when the spouse visa was given to him. He was able to supply his own proof of earning here in Nigeria which was over 20,000 GBP and a third party support evidence over 20, 000 GBP.

PROBLEM PART A
His settlement application was refused on one part due the 2012 new rule's minimum income threshold of 18,600 GBP that was not met

Either by act of omission or commission the ECO wrote him a letter that a dodge old stamp was seen on his passport and that UKBA would conduct inquiry and later send the passport to Nigerian immigration. On speaking to the guy he alleged that a friend of his made away with his passport sometime and that he later got it back. Now he has no idea what would happen to him if he approaches the Nigerian immigration based on the stamp issue.

In one of the correspondence he had with the UKBA here in Lagos (as they held his passport for a long time) he was told by Entry Clearance Manager as follows:

"If you decide to reapply, an attempt should be made to address the concerns outlined in the refusal notice. I cannot however guarantee the outcome of any future application. You should be aware that as your application was refused under paragraph 320 (7A), any further applications may fall to be refused under paragraph 320(7B) of the Immigration Rules, (subject to the requirements set out in paragraph 320 (7C)."

It is tempting to be positive since the Entry Clearance Manager wrote relating to Paragraph 320(7C) which sets out exceptions to paragraph 320(7B). I think if the exceptions apply, paragraph 320(7B) does not apply – i.e. the person or application is not subject to the re-entry bans. Among the exceptions I a think is: many applications for permission to come to the UK to join family members are not subject
to the re-entry bans.

The dilemma is, is there any way or chances of making a successful UK spouse settlement for this guy? And what can he do about Nigeria Immigration. Please advice. Thanks

Im applying for USA visa to give birth. I have a friend in Arlington texas but the hospital i've contacted is in Houston Texas(4hrs drive apart).
Who do you advise I use as my contact person & which location is best to put as my stay address.
Should I use my friend's contact for both or it's better i book for a hotel reservation in houston? If I book a hotel, who will be my contact person?
