agaugust: It enters service in large numbers next year It is allready in service right now. BTR-4 is inferior in every way - the date a vehicle is produced does not define how advanced it is. JF-17 is newer than the F-22... does that make the F-22 inferior to the JF-17? |

agaugust: No, tanks dont get armor replaced And "tiny rust" is enough to get Iraq who are in the middle of a massive war and desperate for equipment to turn their noses up to it!! |

agaugust: Amphibious capabilities doesn't make it a better IFV. The PT-76 tank is amphibious so is that making it better than the Abrams MBT? SA mechanised forces destroyed it with cannon fire. |

mzilakazi: World record list includes a 1,250 m sniper kill by an American soldier in Iraq. Staff Sergeant Jim Gilliland.....September 27, 2005....1,250 m.....M24 rifle 7.62x51mm NATO.......United States....2nd Battalion, 69th Armored Regiment, 3rd Infantry Division Sniper Shadow Team....Iraq War – Ramadi. A 1,000m sniper kill is NOT common on planet earth ! It's not good in your eyes because a Nigerian soldier did it . 1 Like |

agaugust: Badger CAN swim. Option for amphibious crossing is on the vehicle. Nothing major to change. Since SANDF has no major requirement for amphibious crossing (no big lakes in SA) it is not a major design point. |
Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by andrewza: 1:05pm On Jan 31, 2015 |
agaugust: The year somtjing is built does not make it modern or not modern. The badger is better in every way. |
Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by agaugust: 1:05pm On Jan 31, 2015 |

agaugust: because it was during the middle of the fighting You dont admit to any capabilities you can hide And most rifles can reach out and touch you at 1km |

andrewza: if the need arises armor can be removed and props fitted. Note that they left the prow plate on the front of the vehicle (it pushes up a wave that keeps the nose of the vehical from diving under the water in choppy conditions)

patches689: You don't know piracy since your navy has ZERO experience. Pirates are different. Most steal the crude oil, cars, electronics, cargo, etc and divert to a black market selling terminal/jetty. Few rob sailors for dollars that is not always guaranteed to be in sailors pockets Very very few want to risk hostage taking drama that will make them face powerful navy SEALS and SBS . |
Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by saengine: 1:11pm On Jan 31, 2015 |
andrewza: Thats what im saying. Not a major design point. The option to go amphibious is on the vehicle, a radical design change wouldnt be needed. If SA was to conduct heavy operations in regions with a lot of still water.....the amphibious option can be resurrected at a sacrifice of armour. |
Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by andrewza: 1:11pm On Jan 31, 2015 |
patches689: It is not that simple. It would need to be certfied and test first. It would be fast to build a bridge. |
Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by patches689: 1:12pm On Jan 31, 2015 |
agaugust: Ok, so you are telling me they just steal boats and then sail them to the nearest port with huge crains and unload it all? The ships and crew are what they want - ransom This is an indisputable fact Only in poorly policed Nigerian waters are they able to unload oil-stock |

MikeCZAR: No, it shows that the press are doing all they can to suppress any news coming out of Nigeria that is good and to exaggerate negatives. Nigerian Army have been on the offensive all week. http://www.turkishweekly.net/news/179514/nigerian-army-39-dislodges-39-boko-haram-from-ne-town.html http://www.osundefender.org/?p=210559&cpage=1 How Nigeria Fighter Jets Bombed Boko Haram’s Camp It is all part of the Psych warfare and propaganda to undermine Nigeria and we are just laughing. 2 Likes |

Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by agaugust: 1:15pm On Jan 31, 2015 |
patches689: Your video does not prove a 1,000m kill. Also, the Enfield in the video uses optical telescopic sights NOT the ordinary Iron Sights you claim possible. Video just shows a man with a rifle, not target seen, we did not even see barrel of gun showing bullet was truly fired. Teenagers post youtube worldwide and make any claims they like. You are a fraud as usual. Busted !!!! . 1 Like |

andrewza: 90% of terrain infact Amphib doctrine only really applies to the soviets because of their emphasis on deep operations which meant that mechanised brigades were expected to operate with limited support so they couldent afford to stop and wait for engineers to come and build a bridge - their plan was to launch multiple simulatanious attacks on NATO lines and when they make a hole throw everything they have into that hole with orders to push on until they either run out of fuel or die* - they also focused on avoiding heavily defended areas like river crossings as they knew that NATO weapons superiority would make them too costly to capture. Its obsolete, and only really needed for Recon assets and Amphibious assault units *this is also one of the reasons that they were not overly concerned by the fact that the T-72 was a death trap, T-62M's were designed to go toe to toe with allied tanks in initial engagements, T-72's were designed to exploit break-troughs** ** yes, you are now aware that the T-62 is better than the T-72 |
