patches689: There are wars across lakes too wide to bridge. In full rainy season and at it's peak, no bridge can span lake Chad, means Nigerian army cannot cross into Chad except by pontoons, like rafts ferrying armour across a huge lake....the enemy on the other side will be picking you off one by one like sitting ducks. IFV were built amphibious for a good reason, the white man is not a fool like you who thinks it's no good because you have NONE Nigerian army has about 1,000 amphibious armoured vehicles . |

agaugust: We don't have any river we can not build a bridge over. Not to menstion you still need to move all the other support vehicles. A sa infantry battalion has any where from 80 to 100 support vehicles. |

MikeCZAR: Nope, DENEL funded and owns the Badger. Army only buys finished products. Did SANDF fund development of Mokopa ATGM and now refuse to buy it, while DENEL has exported same to another country. How many weapons development projects can your broke army afford to fund development and still fund purchases ? Fool . 1 Like |

MikeCZAR: Entire arsenal? We have not shelled Boko with Howitzers and rocket launchers like we did in Liberia. Do heavy calibre artillery shelling in Nigeria and kill 5,000 civilians collateral damage, BBC will say 1 million people died . 1 Like |

agaugust: Just close your mouth please. Denel got the Badger money from Armscor. Armscor is responsible for issuing funds on behalf of the SANDF. Some Denel projects are internally funded, others are funded with international partners, others are funded from Armscor. |

agaugust: No fool. 1997 a need was identified to replace the Ratels. Military top brass and Armscor put out a set of FUTURE requirments they want the item to have and put it out on tender. Companies bid, show what current technology they have and what future capabilities they will have. Once a company gets a contract (Denel Land Systems - 2010) the design will still change and morph with current technology up until all requirements are met. Very simple logic which you clearly dont understand. Do you think design are etched in stone? Look at when the A Darter missile program was started. The designers knew they would be working to achieve future requirements and their concept would change as it went along. Hence the A Darter is practically the most agile air to air missile today. 90g turns.... very few missiles come even close. 1 Like |

No 10 Billion Rands to pay, no cash ! Now you say 12 units in service, but three of you Southies just posted this morning that you have only 5 units produced for tests. You see how dreams can be like hypnotism ? andrewza: 5 Badgers at 7 AM today, 12 Badgers at 11 AM today, express factory production of extra 7 units in 4 hours...na like baking bread in oven ?
