The Yaba College of Technology, Lagos, has directed its full-time and part-time students to proceed on a 22-day holiday to enable them to exercise their civic rights during next month’s general elections.

This was contained in a bulletin by Head, Public Relations Unit of the college, Mr Charles Oni.

According to the bulletin, the holiday will start from February 11 and end on March 4.

It also stated that hostels and lecture theatres would be under lock and key throughout the period.

The bulletin quoted the Rector of the college, Dr Margaret Ladipo, as appealing to the students to comport themselves during the holiday.

Mixed reactions, however, trailed the announcement, as some students said the holiday would disrupt the second semester academic calendar.

Others commended the management for being safety conscious and allowing students, who are not residents in Lagos to travel for the elections.

Miss Ronke Adeyemi, a National Diploma, Science and Laboratory Technology part-time student, told the News Agency of Nigeria, that it was a good decision.

“It is a good decision and I am happy with it. It is very risky for us to stay on campus during the elections because anything can happen.

“I will use the period to read and prepare for my test because as soon as we resume in March, we are starting our test,’’ she said.

Another student, who pleaded anonymity, said the holidays was too long and would deny the students the opportunity to receive enough lectures and prepare for examinations.

The National Diploma Textile Technology student said the holiday should be reduced to 10 days in the interest of the students.

They should vote for Buhari after all GEJ made polytechnics go for 9 months strike.

"I will do" president
"boko are my siblings" president
"Mr Union strikes" president
"Mr Committees" president
"MEND try to kill me" president
"I have no shoe" president
"stealing is not corruption" president

Real Train Story:
A guy that's works with me on a proj in PH decided to take a train joy ride on the newly deployed train from His city, Enugu to ph. He said though the ride was 8 hours for a trip that is 3hrs by car but the main outcome was that passengers started dropping off from umahia when they could not bear the fumes and dust coming into the train. Those that made it to PH were evacuated to hospital for same reason.I have no reason to doubt Him but will like someone else to take this challenge and verify his claims.

Nigeria and Mexico approached China for credit facility to rebuild their railway systems (and other infrastructures). They both got the credits.
Look at what each country did with the money.
Are you not being short changed?
Don't you deserve Better?

Interestingly interesting.
1. From Tafawa Balewa to.
2. Gen. Johnson Aguiyi-Ironsi to.
3. Gen. Yakubu Gowon to.
4. Gen. Murtala Mohammed to.
5. Gen. Olusegun Obasanjo to.
6. President Shehu Shagari to.
7. Maj. Gen. Buhari to.
8. Gen. Ibrahim Babangida to.
9. Chief Ernest Shonekan to.
10. Gen. Sani Abacha to.
11. Gen. Abdulsalami Abubakar to.
12. President Olusegun Obasanjoto.
13. President Umaru MusaYar'adua to.
14. President Goodluck Jonathan.
OMG!!!!! I just found out something. The
peoples General (Muhammadu Buhari) is the
7th president while GEJ is the 14th
president.Both ar
seeking 2 come back 4 the second time. My
take, If Buhari is the 7th president and the
election is slated for the 14th, it means 14 ÷
7= 2. And GEJ is the14th president and the
election is slated for 14th too.It means 14÷
14=1.Invariably, General MUHAMMADU
BUHARI will be elected
to rule for th 2nd time while GEJ will lose
theelection because he only signed 1single
term with FEBUHARI 14 ÷ 14 =1.
SAIBUHARI!!!!!!!

We are really the ones making this elections scary?

We should rather take this election as one of those typical elections we hold every four years and move on with our lives .

The way we are beating drums of war or fear ain't gonna help matters.

It is just an Election not an insurrection.
