thunder74:INEC is an independent Body. It is not tied to the executive. It doesn't report to the President nor supervised by any officer of the Executive. It reports to the National Assembly directly! It doesn't need not seek the President's input nor approvals when drawing its policies. It works with the Electoral Act and the Constitution and not directive of any arm of government. INEC officers are not card carrying members of any party, they can never be hired or fired by the President at his own will. This cannot be said of the aforementioned Agencies that are tied to the Executives. We have been crying of the Police, DSS and others bias since time immemorial. INEC and not police is to conduct the poll. |

Abeg enough of the excuses. The Murtala Foundation voluntarily chose to host the debate. Even the PDP dared GMB to choose any body of his choice to host the debate. But no word. |

SeverusSnape: Why do you think GEJ boycotted the very first debate organised by a seemingly unbiased umpire like Channels TV in 2011 but chose to show up for a staged debate by NOA, AIT, NTA which he was made to do alone when other three major contenders also decided to shun it? If they are interested in making GMB debate, they should do so through a neutral umpire like respected Channels TV and Businessday Media. 1 Like |

Sincere9gerian: The fact is, if it is not Panadol, it is not Panadol. Come to think of it, which language would the organiser have spoken? If it was declared that it would be Hausa or Fulani, the illiterate Buhari would have jumped at it. But, it was meant to be English. How would he have spoken? That would have exposed his incompetency you know? Besides, it is evident that Buhari as a semi illiterate having lost touch with the current trends of economic and social realities, how would he have made a sound submission when he has nothing in stock. Watch his campaign very well and pay attention to his speech. You will realise that he has nothing upstairs. It is only in a party like APC that a professor will choose to work and take instructions from a semi illiterate like Buhari. It is a great shame to education. The difference can only be liken to north poke and south poke that are far apart. What a disgrace? Well, na Yoruba sha. No pride and the professorship is gotten with ease. |

Who funds NEDG, a non profit organization, going by the expensive and elaborate arrangement being made for the debates? Also how has the debate of 2011 improved governance in Nigeria? The noise by some people on this forum about the debate sounds childish and silly to serious minded people like me. Has it occurred to them that APC inclined professionals can also organise a debate and invite our dear President? Can anyone force him to accept it? NEDG by composition is biased. Some of us will be comfortable if credible neutral people like Christopher Kolade is involved! 1 Like |

Here2BustnScrew: I said seemingly unbiased and neutral according to the first and second paragraph. If you percieve Channels as being bias then am surprise you are persecuting GMB for expressing his fear (No confidence) on AIT, NOA, BON etc as Channels TV is by far more neutral than all of them which is why they have been awarded the best TV station for 8years running. 1 Like |

barcanista:my friend stop giving excuse when there's none. Why not tell Osibanjo to boycott too since Buhari has? Whe look forward to Osibanjo-Sambo debate. If they can favour GEJ why not Sambo too, so tell me why Osibanjo didn't back out. The truth is bitter: You can't offer/sell what you don't have. We all know Buhari won't be able to debate. In his rally how many mins does he speak ? Less than 3mins or do you have a video of him speaking more than that? Be Patriotic for once, even if it was organised by Channels, Buhari will still back out bcuz he has ABSOLUTELY nothing to offer |
Re: NEDG Presidential Debate Boycott: In Defence Of Muhammadu Buhari by Nobody: 10:33pm On Jan 31, 2015 |
Sincere9gerian: You are such a habitual liar! Haba, which NEDG pre-election debates since 2011 has ALL "political parties have been participating since then"? Jonathan boycotted the debate and was the ONLY one at the NEDG. Let all go for the CNBC program.

This debate offers alot of opportunities for both candidates, as this would help pull and gain the hearts of "undecided voters". Also for the sake of the future we need this debate to hold before a culture of debate boycot of fully established. |
Re: NEDG Presidential Debate Boycott: In Defence Of Muhammadu Buhari by Castos(m): 11:08pm On Jan 31, 2015 |
barcanista:Dude please stop making blind arguments as if you're Buhari's spokesman. You call it GEJ's turf, isn't it the best opportunity that Buhari has to clear the air and sound more convincing agendas to his proposed aspiration to rule this country. I believe that in this GEJ turf, was the best place for him to define this CHANGE he has been shouting, that was the moment he had to shame the opposition party, their plans and pumps and whoever was/were behind your so called GEJ 'turf'. This is a live broadcast not an indoor debate. If buhari can convince me through that debate, I'll vote him whether AIT scores him zero or not, we're the main judges not the guys asking the questions. Even if the questions and answers were leaked to GEJ, I know when he's lying and so do you. Buhari is a general and should know better (defence tactics & technique) |

Castos:The general is being smart by not playing into NEDG n co's hands not after AIT n NTA's criminal unprofessionalism! so we don't trust them, n the General cant too!we his supporters say ' don't participate' until an independent body n persons of integrity like Bishop Kukah, professor Bola Akinyemi etc conduct the debate. |
Re: NEDG Presidential Debate Boycott: In Defence Of Muhammadu Buhari by Babacele: 12:17am On Feb 01, 2015 |
great664:Osinbajo is going to no debate until a neutral body conducts the debates. Buhari's records in service for just 3 years beats GEJ's paper achievements by far,so don't even go there. |
