Someone once said and I quote “If the head is rotten, the body becomes useless” this is the reality we face here in nigeria It all boils down to the president, being the grand commander/Head.. You as a father with numerous sons, can't sit down and watch your son's destroy your home.. If you can't call them to order..they will keep on with their bad works.. Am tired of the leaders of this our dear country.. And the most painful aspect is that most its citizens are not educated..thereby most of them tend to use religion, tribe and others to support the bad eggs in the country... The way things are being run in this country If something positive is not done to correct all this mistakes.. The only solution I see coming is REVOLUTION.. That the only solution..if someone does not stand-up and do the right things needed... Bless my soul.. 1 Like |

Easier said than done. I want to point out that most of these professors in economics are making a very big mistake. Most of their laws and theories in economics are not applicable to nigeria's economy cuz our economy is not the normal type. They make judgements based on these laws and theories which is very very wrong. A big fallacy i must say... 1 Like |

omonnakoda: Great points you have raised here. The next logical question for you ( I presume in the change camp) Is that, if we genuinely want to move this country forward, Is Bhuari the man who can do that? Look, I will be honest with you, as per APC and Bhuari the election is about power shifting to the north and Tinubu getting influence at the federal level. They have absolutely nothing to offer or move this country forward. where are the 40-50 something year's old tested governors? |

Splashme: I do think that it is demeaning of the democratic process for people who are responding, instead of looking at the issues he has raised and providing facts to dispute or support, to then embark on ad hominem and personal broad fights against him. By making the whole thing emotive, rather than rational, they take away from quality democracy and this is part of fanning the embers of violence that is going on in this environment. |

He failed. Also he is too parochial even worse that the North Look at his close circle Where are the Urhobos,Where are the Ogonis ,The Ekpeyes' the Itsekiris etc . I want every Nairalander to understand one thing. Most of the people who sound irrational with their comments even in the face of poking facts belong to a cult of politically-hired internet warriors. I learnt of recent that many of them are on the payroll of PDP, APGA etc as full time employment to attack any thread and anyone that is inimical to their cause and to mis-inform the public especially the gullible. These people have sold their birthright for a plate of pottage. Trust politicians, they'll be used and dumped like they do hired political thugs. Little wonder someone could attack Utomi despite his well articulated screaming facts. 1 Like |

kITATITA:When you say the hospitals are not better and schools are not better, pls state the schools and hospital then know whose duty to make it function better. As far as I know the federal govt don't run majority of state secondary schools in Nigeria, I don't know why we should blame Fed govt for poor state of secondary schools, the state govt runs General Hospitals, are they better than the federal medical center run by federal govt. The Governors has used you people to the extent you guys forget the functions of the governor. |

kaboninc: You ommited throwing more light on no3. "fiscal indiscipline and corruption are the hallmarks of this administration. maybe you can explain the missing $20b, $1.3trillion subsidy scam, pension funds, oduagate, 400k oil barrel being lost to bunkering daily e.t.c" He talked about corruption in government and oil barrels being lost to oil bunkering, aside the insecurity challenge the country is currently plagued with. The thing is, Jonathan should never be considered an option. He has failed woefully. If he couldnt achieve much in 6yrs with all the cash he had at his disposal, tell me what he can achieve in 4yrs with less cash inflow. 1 Like |

I HATE Jonathan's Administration because of the Backwardness, Retrogression it has caused our People & Our Economy. I DISLIKE Jonathan himself not only because he is Clueless but also because he is UNINTELLIGENT. That guy says some things that makes me wanna cry. I wonder what he's always thinking when he opens his mouth to make those dumb/ludicrous statements. Makes me wanna cry because I'm always ashamed of the fact that a Brain-dead individual is governing a population of over 160Million people. I'm craving for change simply because Jonathan has failed us! Because the subsidy removal has made absolutely no change in our lives! Because all the years Jonathan has spent as our Leader has been a waste for Nigeria & Nigerians. There are different categories of people that want Jonathan back 1. The Illogical Tribalists: You will hear them confess that Jonathan failed but they will tell you they will vote for him because he is their brother 2. The Greedy Thieves: They are PDP members, their father is a PDP member, they will have a share of our billions that will be embezzled if that thing is re-elected, they will get contracts and not complete them......e.g Ludicrous Doyin Okupe 3. The Clueless, Dumb, Unintelligent, Nitwits, Bloody fools, Morons: These category of people have the same reasoning faculty with your president. Birds of a feather................ God Bless every Nigerian that seeks positive change in the coming Elections God Bless Nigeria 1 Like |

gregg2:Insincerity greediness and lack of trust on the part of all politicians is largely to blame for this. Politicians are corrupt and they all know they are.... As such they can't trust each other with any excess money. When your father increases your allowance cos his own income has increased... Do you tell him to save it for a time his income may reduce.... Or you collect and do the needful by saving it yourself? Since they all shared the money, let's hope they have saved it somewhere retrievable |

I hate it when intellectuals keep quiet for something to go wrong before they speak up. I respect Soludo and Utomi alot but it is grossly unfair of them to wait by the corner and watch Iweala confront the politicians alone. I remember my Eco101 tells me that the best economic policies are still subject to political expediency. Why did they not join the fight against our political monsters who wanted every penny shared? Our politicians are our greatest problem. The national assembly wouldn't want their jumbo pay sliced but will expect the finance minister to do wonders. All what most of them know is there is always money from oil and I keep wondering why none of these political parties is interested in telling us how they will reduce the current bogus overhead expenses of the government. |

Maser:We know this fully we are not stupid!! we continue to engage them for the record. If this website is not deleted then one day historians will use it for research and see that they were not unopposed. It is funny but true.I wonder how much I would need to be paid to do that. I am lucky! Lucky that I have a job and my pride intact and I can say I do what makes my conscience free. I don't know how I would feel if I had to do such a job and had no choice. When I think of my kids there is no way I can say that a GEJ government can be good for them No way. The word Clueless has been used to describe GEJ and it has become hackneyed in its usage. I am generally averse to that kind of laziness but I have come to realise that there really is not a better word to describe him. There are some things he says and you wonder This is not about Phd or not. I know many illiterates who will not say some of the shocking things he says. That guy is NOT fit to be a school Principal. He is not a leader of men. Even his boss Alamiesigha would have made 10x a much better president!! |

ASL33:How many people get treated in your Federal Medical Center? How many of such hospitals exist. Was the President or any member of his immediate family ever treated there? What about enabling policies that affect even the primary medical centers? What quality of graduates are coming out of our universities? Nobody used me and nobody can? I pay my tax. Neither me or my immediate family use government hospitals or schools. But I have several people around me who need government facilities. And the poverty rate is scaring. 1 Like |

[quote author=omenka post=30322372]I keep asking myself how we ended up with a guy like Jonathan. Intellectually, the guy is just too damn handicapped. He seems to be absolutely ignorant of the least requirements of leadership, let alone, possess same. Then what baffles me even more is how anyone with a brain of a human could support a guy like this to preside over the affairs of a state. omonnakoda:Personal opinion; AM I BETTER OFF OR WORSE OFF? As at December 2010, my salary was N100,000. I normally used N15,000 to fuel both car and generator monthly, N30,000 for food stuffs monthly, N15,000 for monthly house rent, then saved the rest for the future and investment purpose. But in January 2011, GEJ administration came up with removal of oil subsidy and a policy called SURE-P, some experts in economics and politics including the incumbent Edo State Governor rolled out the drums to support and celebrate this wishful program. The GEJ administration promised that in six months, proceeds from this program will be reinvested to repair our local refineries to function in full capacity, and by 2013 more refineries will have been built; better infrastructures, job opportunities, good health care facilities, security and quality education will be available to all and sundry. Today, 18th December, 2014, I tried to revisit my budget estimations, N15 000 to fuel both car and generator has increased to 25,000 monthly as a result of increase pump fuel price [PCHN not improving electricity supply], but my dear country is still presently refining crude oil abroad, the CBN has been saying that they been able to maintain inflation level, but whenever I enter the market to buy stuffs, the prices has never been the same compared to my last visit. Monthly budget for food stuffs increased to N45,000, my house rent is now N25,000. My younger sister who was suppose to graduate last year November 2013 [paying her school fees and upkeep], just graduated this year October 2014 after almost a year of the polytechnics strike [the longest in the history of Nigeria]. My cousin brother [staying with me] who graduated in 2010 went for the immigration recruitment exercise last year, lost two of his mates in the unfortunate and shambolic recruitment exercise ever organized in the history of the world by an interior Minister who recently sacked a prison controller and some other staffs for negligence and incompetence in Niger state jailbreak, which his own boss [GEJ] never found in him [still in GEJ’s Cabinets]. My childhood friend who happens to be from Adamawa State [Mubi] cannot travel home for Christmas because where he used to know as his home no longer looks like it. I am due for promotion this year, but my company told me they cannot promote [salary increase] me for now because of the adverse and instability of the country present state of economy [austerity measures]. My savings has continued to drop drastically. NOW, I ASK YOU FROM 2011 TILL DATE, AM I BETTER OFF OR WORSE OFF? 2015 ELECTION is just two months away, I don,t know the decision to take with my vote. Should I still vote for the Transformation that has left me not BETTER OFF or I should vote for CHANGE which in my opinion its first agenda will be REVENGE? GOD BLESS NIGERIA!!! 2 Likes |
