flgd:well there is no specific amount but you should travel with enough to pay your bills because you will always have to declare whatever you have with you at the poe and in some cases the officer counts, know the total of your bill, travel with enough and deposit in the bank when you enter the u.s |

Good morning and happy new month. Reporting from Houston. Tot to share my POE experience. Left naija with my toddler on Friday night on British Airways to Houston. Both legs of the trip was okay. Though i booked for a wheel chair but didn't bother to use it. We arrived Houston IAH around 2.30 pm. The queue was very long and spent close to 2hours to go round the maze cos like three planes landed at the same time. 19 Likes 1 Share |

Hello everyone!!! I just joined the forum. And I have been going through the pages. I have been greatly informed. You guys are awesome. I had my first in the usa and had no issues at all with visa and POE I thank God and since then I have gone back to the USA for vacation. Now I am planning to go back again for twins but in a different state as I was staying with family the other time but won't be staying with them again because of the hospital bill we had to pay the last time. I am seriously sourcing for the cheapest i can get. Now I have a few questions and I will be really glad if you good people can help me figure this out; I am still using the same 2 yrs visa I got for my first, when i get to the POE this time around would I have to show receipts of payments for the birthing of my first at POE is it likely? I am yet to settle for the hospital I will be using but I'm caught between West houston, oakbend and El paso based on what I've read from this thread so far. Still trying to work out my logistics as I will be needing a lot of help with the twins and my toddler. I will keep you guys posted on what I decide nonetheless. I will appericiate your response. Thank you! 1 Like |

flgd:Theres no minimum, although a lot of people travel with a little less than 10k and the rest could be in your card. Be sure to declare the right currency. That's all |

Thanks to everyone on this post. Wish I could put a face to all u lovelies. Had my visa interview in abuja last week, so tired to type but that will be selfish. Since I got info that helped me from this site. The little I can do is give back. Went with hubby. Our appointment was for 8: 30 am. Did the finger scanning and waited patiently for our turn. When filing the Ds form I indicated my husband was the sponsor but later discovered he didn't have much money in his personal account so we had to use his bussiness account for the interview. So in our burden of proof had to include 1. Bussiness statement account. 2. Tax payments for 2013 and 2014 3. Letter from bank stating he operates the account and he is the director of the bussiness and has enough money to fund his trip for childbirth in usa. 4. Letter from company stating he is the director and will be sponsored on the trip abroad for birthing 5. CAC ( particular showing owners of the bussiness). 6. Bussiness card( complimentary card) 7. Personal statement of account just in case he is asked. 8. Prayers The interview went like this. Questions not in particular order as asked. Vo: good morning. Hubby and me; Good morning how are you. Vo: fine. Please can I have your forms and Ur confirmation page. Hubby and me: hands over passport and printed confirmation page to her. Vo: types on computer for some long minutes then asks where I want to go in the us Me: Montgomery alabama. Vo: why Me: want to have my baby. Vo: smiles and says congrats. Asks if its single or twins. Me: single. Vi: is it complicated. Me: no Vo: have you contacted any hospital. Me: yes. Hands over hospital correspondence, doctors correspondence, and hospital letter head stating cost of treatment. Vo; how did you find the hospital. Me: did a research on line and they had great reviews and their budget was within my budget range. Vo: reads through the letters and types on her computer. Asks if I have any relative in alabama. Me: no. Vo: where do intend to stay. Me: extended stay hotels I booked online. Hands over my colorful printed extended stay reservation. Vo: what do u do Me: tells Vo what I do. Vo: asks hubby what do you do. Hubby: bussiness man. Vo; what kind of bussiness Hubby; tells Vo Vo: please can I have your statement of account. Hubby.hands over bussiness statement, lntroduction letter from bank, introduction letter from company, tax receipts, CAC. Vo: reads only the introduction letter from the bank. Didn't look at the statement. Vo: asks if I have any letter from my nigeria obstetrician Me: no. I have just my early scan. Vo: don't worry. Types for about few secs and said we should pick up my visa on wednesday and returns all our documents to us. Thanks all for your help. God bless. Yet to decide which state to stay. Hoping on God's grace and favour. I know it will surely end in praise. 9 Likes |

Thanks for your input. To be honest I wasn't aware that my wife used insurance for delivery until I asked for receipts. Suppose I got separation later on, will they ask for receipts for my later visas too. can they still block my further visas. Can I prove someway that I wasn't involve in this process. Can I cancel my current 6 months visa and along with that share my awful story. Before delivery my plan was always to pay by cash not delivery. Actually I intend to go for my post graduate studies after 2-3 years will this affect my visa. lalavita: |

Airpure:as innn you just said my mind, you are a mind reader, if you do prophetess you go sell o. Lol. He has been really self centred with his comments about the whole child birth thingy you both had the baby and you knew when she travelled, you can't even deny you didn't know her every step even though you weren't there with her now you want to leave her, wetin American visa no go cause for this Nigeria, yes we are after the blue pali and I can't even deny that ni but let's thread with caution because this v.o's aren't stupid, don't wreck the bridge for those you are yet to cross it because you have crossed it already. 6 Likes 1 Share |

baauh: Yes, it would affect you BIG TIME, to think that you even considered denying the consent letter is heartbreaking. How do you want to remove yourself? Why do you want to abandon your wife and child, after she carried the baby for 9 months and gave birth? Why do you want to prove that you wer not involved? What do you want her to do? Didnt you also lie to the VO.? Haba, this is sad. .You said you planned on paying, why don't you work out a solution/payment plan, like everyone has been advising you to do. Instead of leaning on abandoning them. Or has the money been spent on something else? Hmmm, double wahala for dead body ... |

baauh: Your post is now reeked of desperation. If you like divorce the lady(if she really is your wife), withhold consent letter etc. These acts cannot exonerate you from the fact that you lied to a consular officer during your interview. Unless of course you can proof that your wife (who was in U.S) mysteriously appeared at the visa interview with a gun to your head and asked you to lie... Gather up money and send to your "wife" to remedy the situation. As for your ability to enter the U.S in future ...there is a 30% chance it may happen. But DO NOT use the visa you currently have under any circumstance . just my 2cents 1 Like |

Please I don't want to ruin this valuable thread by my bad experience. I am very worried that's why asking all possibilities My in laws did delivery in very expensive hospital of New York. Me and my wife were not on good terms. My father in law forced me to let her go for delivery. They kept me ignorant. however I always asked them to pay by cash. Which they didn't I just come across the situation now when they asked for the consent and in return I asked for the receipts. Please advise me properly how I can get rid of situation where I don't ruin my future chances of visa. shouldn't I write to American embassy here and tell all the wrong stuff did by my in laws and cancel my visa. kizluv: |

pattyreal: His story is nothing out of the ordinary my dear. There are people who do things without considering the larger implication for others. I am very sure he discussed this issue with the wife and they both agreed. He never knew he would be grilled at the embassy. Now instead of trying to fix the issue he wants to throw the poor woman under the bus just to preserve his eligibility for a future U.S visa. It's disgusting ! 2 Likes |

baauh: They ask for consent letter u asked for receipt hw does this make sense my question again is hw much did u give her for the birth of UR child. U want to write to the embassy to do a disclaimer U won't find sympathy or answers here ohh this thread is full of preggies that cant sleep like me n hormones r ragging. Why dont u open a thread to first sorter out ur marriage issue den com back here for help with ur visa issues. 4 Likes |

I have hear if you don't go to USA on visit visa, they will never issue you visit visa again. Is that true. I have plan not to use this visa if its true. She is really my wife, but we were not on good terms on this delivery matter. To be honest I have asked my in laws family to pay by cash, they acknowledge, but in the end eund up by insurance, which I was kept ignorant unless I asked for receipts. Amother4life: |

If I don't go on this visa can that jeopordise my chances of getting US visa again as I have hear if you don't go on visit visa in allotted time they don't issue visit visa again. If that's true I will not use this visa. and I swear upon god I am telling truth and seeking help. Its not like I am wasting your valuable time or gaining sympathies. Please don't taunt me as anyone can be put in such situation unintentionally. 1 Like |
