Thanks Immanuello for the advice. Is there any online sites that one can use to monitor new time lows for equities?

Easykobo.com has a way with their charts.
You can easily check off different ranges....
week, 3 weeks, 3 months, a year.
Just learn to read the charts and they've got historical prices you can check online or download to you Microsoft Excel.

^^^
This post here is very interesting.
I first read a story on this on financial times yesterday (emerging markets section). Some of these banks have huge loans to oil and gas.

Saudi Arabia and OPEC in general is trying to destroy US shale oil producers buy over increasing global oil supply.

It's a nice strategy but it's also going to hurt some of our oil producers over here.

The interplay between the price of oil and indigenous upstream oil players in Nigeria and their lenders (the banks) will be interesting.

I just cannot resist an "interesting" scenario.

Perfect time for heart pumping JIJO.

No emotions. angry

I will suggest you just keep quiet with all these your rubbish.
Your write ups are becoming very very annoying.
If we should describe his posts as bolded, I wonder what to call this your own, brazen intolerance?. Remember he is not the cause of the bear. And if anybody's write up is annoying (to you), why not ignore it and pass to the next, or even better, post your own opinion. This forum shall not be governed by one person's emotional swings. I just beg us to allow all opinions here. I am sure nobody is going out of the way to wilfully mislead. But always bearing in mind that, regarding your investment decisions, you are on your own.

I experienced the same , august last yr paid 2500 , january 2015 again 2500 naira

I argued with them , was told na so dem dey do am

But you are aware you won't have to be debited until January 2016, right? I think it is understandable that the period considered is a calendar year and not a year from registration. Let's cut them some slack. They are still the cheapest out there. cheesy

U.S. Oil Drillers Idle 94 Rigs in Biggest Retreat Yet

http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2015-01-30/u-s-oil-rig-count-declines-for-eighth-consecutive-week

Summary

1. Crude oil drillers in the US are affected.

2. Shale oil producers are not affected yet...at some point in the article, a shale company's rep says this....

Continental Resources Inc., the largest leaseholder in North Dakota’s Bakken shale formation, can weather low oil prices “forever,” the company’s chief executive officer, Harold Hamm, said in an interview at the Argus Americas Crude Summit in Houston on Jan. 28.

3. Verdict: Oil prices need to fall lower for US shale oil producers to begin falling in line.

4. Expectation: Won't be much rosy for the Nigerian economy in the coming months except alternative sources of Forex are hurriedly created.

Their production technology is expensive and market prices have now crashed below what it costs them to produce a barrel. As against the conventional producers that can still scrape profits at present or even lower prices.

We OPEC want them to leave the market for the likes of Oando and Seplat, hence we are crashing price below their production cost. Business is war, not a missionary affair.

Pls, how do I give my broker a instruction in order for me to get a specified amount of shares at a certain price. Is there any special lingo? or do I just say: Buy XX Units of Company Y @ 200naira. Of course, I should ask my broker but I want a neutral opinion and I don't want to get cheated.

Hello Team,
I would appreciate a response to this question; If I place a SELL ORDER on stock, is it possible to place a BUY ORDER for another stock the same day using the same "proceeds"? Thank you.

I suggest you learn how to identify the lows for equities yourself. Normally, you'll get this over time. Also, remember to understand the reason why some lows and highs happen such as the fall-out of the financial crisis starting 2008. Some of those lows caused by events like that may not happen again for a while especially in stable economies.

I know one author's work with 15 years experiences compiled here: http://tradot.com/digital/?trade-shares-safely

It might help.

Cheers!

If your broker does not have an online platform where you can log in with your account, choose your trade and set the max/min price you want them to buy the shares for you, the best thing is to send them a mail and instruct them to do it.

This is how you could instruct your broker to get a specified amount of shares at a certain price:
1) Send them the e-mail stating the particular stock whose shares you want to buy as well as the number of units you want.
2) Include in the e-mail that you are setting a Price Limit of Nxx:xxK (i.e. x Naira, x Kobo) per unit. You are simply telling them they should not buy above the amount you stated per unit of the shares.

You may decide not to set a limit and tell them to buy at the most favourable price to you; that is if you trust your broker. Some brokers are hardened. They could use your money to trade several times during the day and buy your shares towards the end of the day at a higher price and deliver to you with money in their account. If you don't tell them the maximum amount you are willing to pay for each unit of the shares, it's like giving them a blanket check. on the other hand, if you give them a limit and they don't get enough sellers at your range, they may return your money with no transaction and the share price might close upwards from what you want. So you can see that there are advantages and didadvantages.

My Recommendation: Always set a price limit (but let it be reasonable).

You will get detailed schooling from here: http://tradot.com/digital/?trade-shares-safely
