I wonder how you study players and their technique. Is Wilshere that bad?
His style of play brings a special dimension to a team. Wilshere is a player that can collect the ball from defence and drive it into attack just like Pirlo.
As far as I am concerned he is above average, he is not there yet but is coming.
When I see a player progressing into a star I know, only few people in the world (like Arsene) have such ability.
Mou sold off Schurrle for Cuadrado, for me thats absolute lack of faith. Hope he wont regret it.

You see, that's where you are getting it wrong. Mou is not building a team for the future, Mourinho is buiding a team that will win this year and next year (if he is still Chelsea manager). If Mourinho doesn't win the league this season, he will most likely be fired.

Arsene on the other hand has time. His employers are happy with top 4 so he can be patient with players.
Arsenal fans were patient with him in the early years but when we started losing our best players, our patience waned. So you should understand if fans are not that 'crazy' about Coquelin now. He's a very good player. I remember bringing up his name when he was on loan in France. He is also very versatile and in the last three games, he has done very well. I watched two games he played whilst on loan at Charlton and he was way above the other Charlton players and it was easy to see he was ready for the EPL. The question then was, was he ready for Arsenal's first team?

He's done well in the last few games but will he maintain this over a whole season or do we still need to bring a DM and let Coquelin be back up?

Away from that debate, I will like to add that Coquelin is another member of that youth FACup winning team. Steve Bould did a good job on that team. We've now had Szczesny, Frimpong, Wilshere, Lansbury and Coquelin as members of that team who have also featured for the first team. If we add Kyle Bartley, Emmanuel-Thomas, Eastmond, then you'll see how great that team was.

Sadly, EPL is about money now. You want to win the Cups, spend the money cheesy

Proudly, Jay Emmanuel-Thomas was supposed to be the big thing then. What a waste of talent as he's playing in league two now, I think. Szczeny broke both his arms that year, proudly. James Shea was the guy behind the sticks for the youth team. You have to add Giles Sunu to that list of players from that era.

Yes Szczesny broke his arms but he was part of that squad. I remember one of the two legged final game against Pool. Emmanuel-Thomas scored one of the goals. His off the pitch antics and 'laziness' is his main problem. He's started 2015 well though. Has played a few games for Bristol City and actually scored 2 or 3 goals this year. First part of the season was not too good for him at all. But he's still got the mad skills. He just needs to improve on his work rate.

James Shea is another 'unlucky' goalkeeper. He was with us when we had three young keepers in Szczesny, Fabianski and Martinez. I actually rate him ahead of Martinez who is currently our third choice. He's at Wimbledon now and has done well for himself. I expect that he'll be at a championship side if not premier league side come next season.

I intentionally did not mention Sunu cos IMO, he didn't really hit it off with the youth team. As much as I didn't rate Sanchez Watt, I'ld have taken him ahead of Sunu that year. I think he's back in France now. Not sure.

There were a lot of big names in that squad who played a few games for the first team. Eastmond, Kyle Bartley (he's at Swansea now), Sanchez Watts, plus all the ones mentioned earlier.

The current youth squad is not has good as that squad but they also have some names that I believe will turn out well. We've already seen Bellerin and Akpom. Crowley is another one I believe we will see in the first team next season. He needs an accelerated promotion like we did for Jack. He's that good. We've already lost Kris Olsson who I believe would have been Rosicky's natural replacement who he wasn't patient enough. He's moved to Denmark now and doing well.
Maitland-Niles is another good one. Okocha's nephew, Iwobi is good but he's still at academy level. Maybe in another two seasons, who knows. I've not seen enough of Willock but in the two or so games, he's done well. He's still got a long way to go though.

Mr Pikaboo are you still hating on Theo or have you eased off the haterade? cheesy

Good to see injured players returning to form and delivering good performances.

Best news of this window for me is Chuba Akpom getting a new contract - that boy will do big things in the red and white. cool

When assessed together, I'd say the last two transfer windows are the best we've had for 4/5 seasons.

1 point off third place, still in the UCL and FA cup. . . .this season may yet deliver tangible improvement over last. Competition for places almost in every position in the squad and hungry players looking to make up for lost time. It's poised very nicely for the rest of the season.

Well no need to pick on the Theo debate again but we have a player that clearly defines what work rate is all about. If theo puts up that kinda attitude of and on the ball then he may just turn out to be that enigmatic player we all hope he would turn out to be.

Again my grouse his the desire he shows when we are defending and ensuring that he continually hassles the opponents. Finishing and attacking wise he has really matured

Why I think Arsenal will beat Spurs and go on to finish in 3rd place ahead of Man Utd this season.

Arsenal's recent form which includes a 2-0 win on the road over defending champions, Man City, and a 5-0 trashing of Aston Villa, could be attributed to the mesmerising forms of Cazorla and new signing Sanchez, and the return of hungrier Ozil and Walcot. But most importantly, it is the addition of COQUELIN, who is enjoying the form of his life. Le Coq is the oil that lubricates the Arsenal engine, he forms an impregnable shield that allows the full backs to maraud, and the attacking midfielders space to be creative without watching their backs. He goes for strong tackles without incurring the referee's wrath (as much). He is quick and reads the game intelligently.
Arsene's plea for an anchor man is over. He may not be a Man of the Match kind of player, but he is a Man of the Team player.
With the Gunners yet to face Chelsea at home and Man Utd away, this is the best time to be an Arsenal fan.

Interesting to see Welbeck ahead of Theo.

Arsenal team to play Tottenham Hotspur: Ospina, Bellerin, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Monreal, Coquelin, Ramsey, Welbeck, Cazorla, Ozil, Giroud
