In answering your question, I will like to make clear who an extremist is. According to the Merriam Webster's dictionary an extremist is- a person who belief in and support for ideas that are very far from what most people consider correct or reasonable. Is Buhari an extremist? My answer is "No" reason being that an extremist must believe in a sub-culture different from that of the opposing side and must not be seen doing things with the opposing side. Buhari mingles and associates with Christians, dine with them and even attend religious activities of the so-called christlike people. Therefore, he's not an extremist.

That aside, the fear of Nigeria being Islamized by Buhari is only the handiwork of mischief makers, a man who did not Islamize Nigeria under military rule, how possible is it for same man to Islamize Nigeria under Democratic government? The fact remains that not Buhari but IBB that joined Nigeria with OIC. Buhari's only association with OIC was to help get funds to finance the already dead economy left by Shehu Shagari. He tried using the instrumentality of the Islamic bank whose loan was far better in comparison to the IMF/IBRD structural adjust programme.
