I'll urge folks to take this source seriously, considering that DailyTimes is Pro-GEJ. It's pretty-much a done deal. 9 Likes 1 Share |

The election should not be postpone joo, we do not need to give anybody the avenue to yarn garbage. However, I am an advocate of peaceful election. Some people have been brainwashed that a particular candidate will win, I can only laugh. I suspect the cult-like followers of that candidate can results to violence once their master's loses. We need a PEACEFUL Nigeria where we can live together PEACEFULLY. Shalom! 15 Likes 2 Shares

Cluelessness of this administration knows no bound. If elections are postponed by 6months, GEJ would have been in power for more than 4 years, thereby violating the constitution and making his authority illegal. He also needs the constitution changed to accommodate a-4& 1/2 yr presidency.. Changing the constitution takes more time and resources than holding an election.. 12 Likes 1 Share |

This is utter rubbish and arrant nonsense. The Presidency which is headed by one of the parties cannot shift the Election arbitrarily except it passes through both Chambers of the National Assembly with a simple majority vote. The reason being that INEC is an independent body based on the law that set it up. When you being a Candidate fix a date for election just because you want to perfect your rigging machinery or for the eligibility case against your main Challenger to be concluded, then it means you have usurped the powers of the Independent Electoral Umpire. Nigerians will resist this. 50 Likes 3 Shares |

clevvermind: Postponing the election won't stop the violence. Not when there are millions of Nigerians who think that their crumb supply would be in jeopardy, whichever of their Maters loses. The only thing that may mitigate violence is if a third party wins. But....that is not going to happen. All that is left is for the idea that ''if your son does not get to Abuja, no development for you'''to be removed from the average Nigerian's consciousness. 3 Likes |

If the gov't has noble intentions for the proposition, fine. But if it's a pretext to try to reverse this administration's increasing loss of credibility and Buhari's rising profile, I'd advice them to have a rethink, coz if the result of the certificate saga is anything to go by, they could end up looking even more desperate than they currently do. |
