I’ll Perform Better In My Second Term If Re-Elected - President Jonathan Assures by msmon(m): 12:05am On Feb 04, 2015 |
President Goodluck Jonathan has said he would perform better in his second term if elected in the February 14 presidential election. He stated this on Tuesday when he met with Kogi State traditional rulers in Lokoja, the state capital just before he led other Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, faithful to the Confluence Stadium for the presidential candidate rally. Mr. Jonathan is the party’s presidential candidate in the election. He had been fiercely criticised particularly by the opposition for allegedly being incompetent. In 2011, the president was quoted as saying that he would rule for only one term because what he could notachieve in four years, even if given 100 years, he would not be able to do them. Mr. Jonathan however told the royal fathers he deserves another term of four years to enable him consolidate on the achievements he has already recorded in his current first term which will end May 29. The president said most governments do better in their last terms because they have enough time to settle down and plan. “Whatever we have done in the last four years, we believe that we will even do more in the next four years. Most governments all over the world do better in their second tenure,” Mr. Jonathan said. “This is because the Presidents are more stable that time, especially in this two-term arrangement. They are more stable. They sit down and plan for the country and focus on key areas.” The president assured that if elected he would give attention to the Ajaokuta Steel Company of Nigeria. He also told the traditional rulers that his administration would ensure that steel was included in the nation’s rail system. The National Chairman of the PDP, Adamu Mu’azu, while addressing the traditional rulers, promised that if voted into power again, the party administration would restore their constitutional roles. “Our party leader, President Jonathan is leading the crusade to bring you back into the constitution,” Mr. Mu’azu said. Also speaking, the governor of Kogi State, Idris Wada, said the traditional rulers had always supported the transformation agenda of the PDP government and asked them to continue to do so. Speaking on behalf of the rulers, the Attah Igala, Idakwo Michael Oboni II, asked the president Jonathan to continue with his laudable programmes. At the presidential rally, Mr. Jonathan assured that he would make Ajaokuta Steel Company work again because all the legal barriers had been removed. According to him, steel and iron were very crucial to Nigeria’s economy. He said, “I wish to tell you that all is set to make Ajaokuta Steel Company to work again.” The president asked the people of Kogi State to vote massively for him and other PDP candidates on February 14 and 28 as they did in 2011. www.premiumtimesng.com/news/top-news/176216-re-elected-ill-perform-better-second-term-says-jonathan.html 2 Likes 1 Share |

I wanted to comment something. Going through the post again it makes me laugh and laugh and laugh.... Modified My father use to tell me that, you don't persuade people to like you, your good work will always speak for you! One thing i noticed is Nigerians are getting wiser and wiser everyday! I was watching it in 2011, when everyone almost changed there name to Goodluck Jonathan, then who know's Buhari? But now the table is turning! Leadership is all about sacrifice; if you cannot sacrifice your N1Billion for feeding yearly to at least poor people or supply of food to a particular region yearly, then you are a very bad leader. If you cannot cut some of your cost to enable some people adjust to some part of the economy as well; you are a bad leader If part of your crew steal directly N1,000 from poor youth in the country and they still wallow in your cabinet without refunding back the money; you are a terrible leader. If you change a plate number of all vehicles at the wrong time but all the people in government never pay for it, rather to use it in generating money from the masses; you do not deserve to be given a second chance All propaganda they said about GMB was he jailed, he punished but the truth was all was based to the law at that time, which was implemented very very well. If you can't do things but habour corruption and killing the economy but they deceived us on TV that all is well, when we all knew that all is very far from being well. If you cannot manage my N100 within 6years, i will never ever give you my N50 to manage for another 4years, meaning you will wretch me for a whole 10years, haba that too much. Sentiment was all that captured us all in 2011, this is democracy, we have the right to talk, if changing every 4years will make the govt. seat up, then i think we are ready. No more long years of try by error. In a sane world, part of the credit to get people votes is based also on the people around you. Bring Back the Billions of $$$$ Bring Back our Girls Bring Back our Economy Bring back Nigeria Bring Back discipline Vote wisely!!! 216 Likes 16 Shares |

PDP openly knows long ago that POVERTY is our number one problem. Stop collecting Rice, Sugar, Motorcycle, Cars, Money from them. They will come back and deduct it in million times from us. 16years of no good result! All they give you now won't last for four years. Good things comes easily and in silent, not by sharing rice e.t.c Vote wisely! 50 Likes 2 Shares |

He has come again oooooooo. Beware of a man who failed in his promises; a man who promised and failed without apologizing or stating reasons for his failure. He spent six years clearing legal barriers, how many years will he spend to make Ajaokuta Steel Company functional? Only if some people support cluelessness, will they vote for you. 24 Likes |

$49 billion, $20 billion, $10.8 billon (from NNPC), N1.7 trillion (Illegal Subsidy payments), N21 billion (illegal donation), N10 billion (Allison's illegal flights), $49 billion per yr, N4bn presidential feeding, N10bn presidential air fleet maintanance,South Africa arm procurement scam deal, where the Nigerian's involved where not mentioned but the Israeli's name was mentioned, $13m patience jonathan money laundering case, overbudgeted N119bn for 2nd Niger bridge as against a replica constructed for N29bn by the Lagos state government, N968bn security budget, yet Boko haram has been maiming people, ransacking communities and having the numbers of IDPs rise geometrically, N35.4m to feed Aso rock lion's, N20bn pension scam, Immigration job scam, yet the culprit minister involved is still serving and enjoying his loot from the scam recruitment exercise, pardoning of convicted criminals like Bode george and Alameyhsia, Tompolo buying warships in an insane clime like Nigeria, asides the billions of Naira lost to oil bunkering. Just name all the scams and misappropriation of funds under this government, you will weep for Nigeria. They steal in billions of Naira. I wonder how a youth like me, who has an unborn gneration, will comfortably thumbprint for the PDP and jeopardize the future of the unborn all because of bias and false PDP propaganda. Vote for change. After 6years with high revenue, nothing was achieved. How will something be achieved in 4years with less cash inflow? GEJ should declare his assets to Nigerians and the world at large, so we can all see how lucrative politics in Nigeria has been. GEJ is a scam, and I dare anybody with superior logic to enlighten my ignorance that this present administration isn't a hoax. The earlier we drop the bias about ethnicity, religion, age to focus on demand for quality leadership from a selfless leader, the better. If people don't see that this administration has failed woefully, and there's a need to tey some other leader, then we will continue to wallow in abject poverty in this country. Poverty level in Nigeria has risen from 54% to 71%, youth unemployment from 9% to 50%, recurrent expenditure from 62% to 86%, national debt from $26bn to $70bn, whilst GDP growth has dropped from 11% to 6%, and excess crude account has dropped from $20bn to $2bn. Everything is wrong with Nigeria. Just everything is going wrong. Lets be wise and vote rightly without bias!!! 97 Likes 10 Shares |

JEITO: This your comment is sad, you are one of the reasons Nigeria is like this. If someone working for you almost destroys your business, you sack him instead of giving him support 'in every way' Goodluck is of no relevance in this issue, it is your life and other Nigerians. Dont hero worship a nonentity because he bears the title of president. 53 Likes 1 Share |
