I suggest you go for Electrical Electronics Engineering instead. You have to think of widening your chances in the labour market. Electrical Electronics Engineering cuts across every industry - Telecommunication, Power, Construction, IT, Maritime, Oil & Gas, Agriculture, Aviation, Banking, etc


Simply google the job prospects of this discipline to clear your doubts. Another good field which stands out just like Electrical Electronics Engineering is Mechanical Engineering.

I would suggest you go for computer science. Computer science is mathematics if you ask me, cos you'll end up taking mathematics courses till you graduate. So in the end you can refer to yourself as a computer graduate and a mathematician. Mathematics on the other hand is more like a solo course, even if you offer computer courses it would be the general computer you would do in your first year; so you'll end up having very little knowledge about computer.

Secondly in the area of jobs, the employment market would be more favourable to a computer graduate than a mathematician.

Mathematical science all the way.
It depends on the school, for instance in FUTA we do mathematical science, which is above computer science, you'll be well grounded in programming and Mathematics which will make you to be more analytical than they are. Even the father of computer science was a mathematician. You can never go wrong studying mathematics. Bottom line is that computer science is a subset of mathematics. Do you know that IBM computer is the highest employer of Mathematics Doctors, even AT&T bells.

I know someone that graduated with first class in computer science and he's undergoing his PhD in cloud computing and he wished he'd done more mathematics during his undergraduate days.

Just my maybe bias view.
